This was a good read for basic survival principles if you find yourself stranded in the wilderness or out hiking. This went over basic medical emergency principles, how to collect water, trapping, edible plants, and how to react to different wild animals. Overall, a good quick book to learn wilderness basics.

Want for me. It had interesting information but the "Medical" information seems elementary. I guess I am the wrong demographic

I find the title of this book strange, as the "medical" part is less than half of the book, and the rest is what I would call "survival" tips, and not "prepping" (meaning tips for long term living off grid).
However, most tips here are useful, with some exceptions. The worst is the text giving the impression that CPR can resuscitate a stopped heart. The figure is correct: call an ambulance first, as the chances are very slim. Another is the snow shelter under a tree, as any wind will likely cover you in more snow.

As a Solo Traveler and someone who is out and about on field duty, I added this book to my Netgalley shelf so fast because I needed tips on first aid and just how to treat cuts which I get a lot.
It's well written and easy to follow with pictorials on what to look out for so I am definitely loving this and equipping my first aid kit because it's clearly lacking a lot.
Thanks Netgalley for this eARC. I'd recommend this to everyone because we never know when we may need that first aid or what to do when we're stranded in a new environment and need to survive an encounter.

This is so necessary for everyone to read in life. Highly recommend. Whether you think that you may ever be alone in the middle of no where or you may be faced with a unknown emergency this book has you covered. I found myself laughing, worried, and captivated at every page turn. Especially considering I have a couple camping a backpacking trips coming up. Highly recommend. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

A fascinating book, full of survival skills, which as the author believes,we may need soon, if disasters strike, such as covid. This author has been living off the grid for a good few years, and survived, which means that this guide comes from someone with expertise in this area.
