From the first page this is a gripping tense story of lies, manipulation and constant out of control fear of being found. With years of lies behind her and looking over her shoulder, Jenna finally stops running. But when she does her terror really begins. Fast paced and treacherous, Kerry Lonsdale has added another top reading book to her list of followers. I received an ARC of this book from the author through Netgalley and Union Press. The comments and review are my opinion.

Jenna Mason refers to herself as an enigma in her new community that is close-knit. Her and her son Josh have settled into Oceanside, California, for the past eighteen months. Jenna is envious of how easily her son makes friends, but he is not running and hiding from his past.

Jenna is a newly established, famous writer and illustrator of the animated cartoon, Tabby’s Squirrel. This in and of itself make her a target and visible to the past she is running from. She does not do any in-person interviews, and everything goes through her publisher. This new success gives her and Josh the ability to live as regular townsfolk and not as transients moving from one place to another within Murielle’s network of angels, like they had been doing up until they moved to Oceanside. At times, she wishes they had not come out of hiding and opened them up to exposure.

As Jenna has established rules for their safety, as any young teenager does, thirteen-year-old Josh does not always follow the rules that are established and pushes boundaries. The rules are there for both their sakes and their livelihood.

As Josh has growing friendships and becomes best friends with Anson, it reminds Jenna that her best friend died the night she ran away from home. She tries to bury the thoughts, but they always reoccur and remind her of what she has done.

As Jenna is trying to establish a new life, is recently engaged to her fiancé Kavan, her world is starting to fall around her as the past she is trying to keep hidden resurfaces vigorously. She has always been able to outrun her past and stay ahead of the game. But now that she is more publicly vulnerable, her past has caught up with her.

As rumors surface and a reporter with the Oceanside Sentinel is snooping around to get information, Jenna thinks of her mother Charlotte and what she had done. It makes her realize what she is capable of and reflects on her thoughts of herself and the past she has been running from until. Now, she must decide if she must disappear once again as her identity appears to be coming to light. She had promised Josh they would not move again, and he does not want to return to the life on the road. Changing locations every six months, is a life she is tired of also. But if her identity has been exposed, she does not have a choice. What people do not know yet, is her real name is Lily Carson

As Lily grapples with her past, including her coming to terms with her relationships with her mother, father, sister Olivia, and her brother Lucas, she must find the strength inside herself to persevere for the sake of her son and the life she wants to build. She sees herself as “the unplanned, unwanted child of a nuclear family that was perfect until she came along. It explained Dwight’s preferential treatment of her siblings over her. “

When Lily finds herself pregnant at the age of sixteen, she knew she had no choice but to fend for herself. She had been doing this longer that she could remember. “Self-preservation was a Carson Family trait.”

As Lily continues to struggle with the fate of her future and the decision to run once again, Josh ends up in a horrendous accident with life threatening injuries with a blow to his head. Lily must find the strength to face her demons. Not only for herself, but for the life of her son.

This is the second book in the “No More” series. It not only keeps you engaged and asking for more, but it also answers any questions you had from “No More Lies” and brings everything full circle. This book is even better than the first. Another breathtaking and all-night read that keeps you guessing until the very end. It does not disappoint and another bestseller for Kerry Lonsdale. Looking forward to “No More Secrets,” the next book in this series which will be released in March 2023.

I’ve always been a big fan of Lonsdale’s work, but this book is so unrealistically dramatic it was hard to get through. Stalkers, multiple traumatic brain injuries, characters who are grown adults who still believe things weren’t accidents but suddenly they tell someone what happened (FINALLY) and it’s like a switch flips. It was hard to root for Jenna because she was so childish and it was a cheap narration technique to have bad things happen time after time just to move the story along. The father dying was useless and I don’t know why he was even reintroduced.

I honestly don’t know if I want to finish this trilogy this book frustrated me so much.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is the second book in a trilogy and while I’m sure it would be ok to read as a standalone you would be missing out because the first book is great! Book one followed one of the Carson siblings, Olivia and this one is her sister Jenna’s story. I have been so curious about her perspective and you get some answers to burning questions here. This is one complex and messed up family and there are a ton of secrets and betrayals to unravel. Much like the previous book you obviously have some suspense but you also get some romance and an emotionally charged plot as it all deals with family drama. This was a great escapist read and I cannot even wait to see how it all concludes in book 3!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⁣

Synopsis: Jenna Mason’s life seems perfect: a successful career as an animator, a town house near the beach, and an adoring son, Josh, whose artistic talent looks as promising as his mother’s. But there’s something nobody realizes about Jenna. She used to be Lily Carson, a young mother on the run from a secret no one must ever know.⁣

After years of constantly relocating, Jenna concedes to her son’s request to settle down. He wants to make friends. He wants some stability. He wants to feel normal. She convinces herself they’re safe. Until a reporter discovers who Jenna really is, bringing her estranged father to her doorstep. When he threatens to expose her carefully fabricated life for the lie that it is, Jenna has no choice but to run again.⁣

But just as she’s about to go off the grid, Josh disappears, forcing Jenna to seek out the one person she never thought she’d see again: Josh’s father. ⁣

Wow what a great read by Kerry Lonsdale. I really enjoyed this domestic thriller. I finished it in one day! I loved the characters and alternating POVs. So much suspense with endless twists and turns.
Highly recommend
Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book.

This is the second book in this amazing series, only it's told by Jenna/Lily's P.O.V. Book #1 was by Olivia's P.O.V., and the final story will be told by their brother, Lucas.

If you've read the first book, you know that the Carson siblings came from an emotionally abusive home. Regardless of the fact that they came from a family of wealth, their parents manipulated the siblings against one another.

This is Jenna/Lily's story. It starts in the present until a nosy reporter does some digging, making someone from her past find her and her son. It ends up revealing how her son, Josh, got hurt and went missing, finally reuniting their family once again.

Such a great story, my heart broke reading it. I can't wait to read Lucas' story next.

The suspense of twists and turns had me holding my breath! This is such a captivating story! I love everything that Ms Lonsdale has written but I would say this one is her best yet! While this can be read as a stand alone, I highly recommend to read No More Words where we first meet Lilly. Either way this is a fantastic suspense thriller and I highly recommend it!

Another fabulous book by Kerry Lonsdale! I have loved each of her books and this one did not disappoint.
This book is the second book in the series No More and it answers so many questions that were left when No More Words ended. Lily/Jenna's story was slow to unravel but when her lies finally stopped the story that developed was remarkable. The strength of this young woman was thrilling and impressive. She and her son, Josh, have an amazing bond and you quickly realize that she will do absolutely anything to protect him. She is a fabulously written character and you cannot help but care for her and her son's well-being.
The story is so well-conceived and flawlessly written that it is hard to find a place to take a break. Something new is always being discovered and the story flows so easily into each of Lily/Jenna's next obstacle in life.
This could be read as a stand alone book but I would highly recommend reading the first book in the series before you begin this phenomenal book. You will understand so much more of this book if you read Olivia's story in No More Words. I am looking forward to reading all about Lucas in the third installment No More Secrets!
This family drama will keep you interested from beginning to end and I undoubtedly recommend that you pick it up when it is released on May 10, 2022. I am so grateful to Lake Union Publishing and Netgalley for the opportunity to read an ARC of this amazing book in exchange for a honest review.

Secrets and lies shadow a woman on the run in the second novel in the No More trilogy and I am all in on this phenomenal trilogy! Lonsdale is a go to author for me and books like this are reasons why: fantastic characters, perfect settings, a STORY! A woman on the run, a child to protect and a TWIST. Addictive and unputdownable! Loved it!

With No More Lies, Kerry Lonsdale continues her No More trilogy about the Carson family, this time from the POV of Jenna/Lilly. The story is told in two different time frames. Lilly, as a teenager who feels she has no choice but to leave home and never return, and as Jenna, an adult with a teenage son, tired of constantly fleeing from her past and the secrets she's tried so hard to hide. Secrets that have caught up to her despite her best efforts. Secrets that now put her and those she loves in mortal danger.

This is a good read, but some things disappointed me. I found the first half of the book to be very repetitious and overly melodramatic (insert handwringing here, and here, and here, and... you get the picture). Lilly/Jenna has had more than her share of hard knocks, being born into a super dysfunctional family being but one of them, but the author's overkill on why she should be viewed with sympathy grew very annoying. This abated in the second half of the book as the pace picked up and other characters were given the chance to shine.

I enjoyed the first book better but am interested enough by the family to want to read the next book in the trilogy.

My thanks to Lake Union Publishing who permitted me to access an e-ARC of the book via NetGalley. All opinions stated in this review are my own and are freely given.

This is the second book of the No More series. The story follows of three siblings Olivia, Lily and Lucas. The first book focused on Olivia and in this book, it focuses on Lily.

Lily lives by the name Jenna with her son Josh. The story follows when Lily was pregnant with Josh and that she witnessed the murder of her friend Wes. Now Wes' brother Ryder is out of prison and had attacked Josh. Lily now living as Jenna and a successful illustrator must face her past demons.

This was really an engaging story that I was actually drawn into the story. The plot was intense, dividing between the past and present--Present when Jenna is dealing with her son Josh and past when Lily was pregnant with Josh. The author has done a good job of drawing the reader into the story and as a result, I was hooked into the story. It felt as if I was watching some action packed thriller with a great story line and I couldn't literally put the book down. Overall, this was a fast paced thriller that will keep you hooked into the story from the beginning to the end.

Overall this book worth five stars!

Many thanks to Netgalley and Lake Union Publishing for the ARC. The review is based on my honest opinion only.

This is continuation from the book No more words. This book follows Lily turned Jenna. Great writing dialogue and characters. The suspense kept me guessing until the end.

This was a good book 2 in the series. I enjoyed getting to learn more about Lily's story. It is great to have the opportunity to get a story from multiple perspectives. I am excited to see what book 3 has to add.

Jenna thought she was safe- or as safe as she could be- after changing her name and moving-a lot. Told in past and present, when she was Lily and now that she's Jenna, this is a story of a woman coping with the aftermath of a horrible thing that happened when she was a teen. She's found out by a reporter for a local paper and this opens the gates, impacting not only Jenna but also her teen son Josh, who she's protected all these years. Her rotten father is back, making things worse. and then Josh disappears. No spoilers from me. Thanks to Netgalley for the AR. Lonsdale has a way with the thriller- this is a page turner.

In the second book in the "No More" series, this storyline follows Jenna Mason on her journey from childhood to adulthood. Jenna was introduced to us in the first book in the series as a child in the Carson family, rocked by secrets and witnessing horrendous acts, that only she knows the facts around. The terrible actions of her family and friends while she was a child, have followed her into adulthood as she tries to outrun the horrors she has tried to protect her heart and one and only son from experiencing. When she can hide no longer, she confronts the horrors head on and the truth spills to all those she loves and holds dearest to her.

This is an incredible story of courage and love, dark family secrets, and the ends one will go to in order to protect all that is sacred. A strong focal point of this story, continues the story line of Charlotte Carson, mother of three children, including Jenna Mason AKA Lilly Carson. Charlotte and Lilly were both in the center of murder investigations and Lilly holds the key to the truth surrounding both. In this story, readers will compare the love of two types of mothers. One that will sacrifice anything to be free and one who will sacrifice everything to protect the loves around her. Centering on the life of Lilly and her transformation into a life where she is known as "Jenna", this story takes us on a rollercoaster ride, having us constantly guessing at the truth, holding our collective breath, hoping the heroine wins in the end.

It's no secret that Kerry Lonsdale is one of my favorite authors. Her unique storylines always keep me reading late into the night. No More Lies is the second book in her No More series and I strongly recommend that you read these books in order. It will provide a fuller and richer reading experience since they are interlinked and build on one another. There are some situations where you can read books out of order in a series, but in my opinion, this isn't one of those. However, don't let that deter you. This series is worth every word you will read. It's truly unique and imaginative.

No More Lies focuses on Jenna and her son, Josh. Her past life as Lily Carson is catching up to her and just as she prepares to run again, events occur that prevent it. When she's forced to stay and face her fears, she will either watch the new life she's created crumble when people find out who she really is or she'll find out how deep love really goes.

I love having two of the three Carson siblings stories under my belt now, but I really can't wait for the third book which will be about Lucas. I sense there's a great deal to unpack in that one and I'm here for it.

Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC. I voluntarily chose to review it and the opinions contained within are my own.

No More Lies is part of a series – and tells Jenna / Lily’s story, although it will still make sense if you haven’t read the earlier book in the trilogy, No More Words.

Jenna is living under a new name and identity. After more than a decade of moving around, she’s finally settled, and has a loving fiancé in chef and restaurateur, Kavan.

But when a journalist starts digging into her past, her new safety falls apart as he unleashes dangers from Jenna’s past. Now, she must decide whether to pack up her life and go on the run again – which she hates as her son is settled and loving his new life.

Told in alternating timelines, as the novel progresses, we learn more of what drove Lily (Jenna’s prior name), to leave home and go on the run. And why she’s in so much danger now.

Filled with twists and turns, a story where Jenna’s love as a mom shines through (the author knew how to portray this exceptionally well).

The ending is satisfying—it raises questions to be answered in the third book, which will be her brother’s story, but leaves us knowing what happens with Jenna/ Lily.

A Kerry Lonsdale classic – a fast-paced read filled with twists and turns, caring, danger, and love.

No More Lies Series Book 2

Jenna Mason's life seems perfect: a successful career as an animator, a town house by the beach, and an adoring son, Josh, whose artistic talent looks promising as his mother's. But there's something nobody realises about Jenna. She used to be Lily Carson, a young mother on the run from a secret no one must ever know.

What an emotional, raw and suspense filled read this was. I have not read the first book in this series but it did read well as a standalone. The characters are well developed and likeable. The pace is fast and the plotline is filled with secrets and lies. The story has a dual timeline that's told in the present day and the past, when Jenna was pregnant and the dangers that haunt her from her past. When I thought I had it all figured out, along would come another twist to prove me wrong. It did take a few chapters for me to get into the story. This is a multi-layered story with each character revealing something. I quite like a story where a dysfunctional family is involved.

I would like to thank #NetGalley #LakeUnionPublishing and the author #KerryLongsdale for my ARC of #NoMoreLies in exchange for an honest review.

I literally couldn’t put this book down from the moment I picked it up. Something caused Jenna to run when her son was born. She has relocated them throughout their entire lives. Whenever she felt it was not safe anymore. But now - now she has found love. Now her son is starting to ask questions. Now - things are different. Does she stay and face her past? Or continue to run? I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Once again we are going to spend some time with the Carson family. If you don’t remember them, look up “dysfunctional” in the dictionary. And if you think you already know most of this story because Olivia has already told it in the first book, you are wrong. The perspective is very different this time around. While the first book, No More Words, was mostly about Olivia, her recollections of their childhood, and her frantic attempts to reunite her nephew Josh with his mother, this book, No More Lies, is Lily’s story. Or rather Jenna’s story, for that’s who she’s been for the thirteen years since she disappeared. And now that we see things through her eyes we realize that Olivia may not have had enough of the facts to know the truth.

While the perspective may have changed, the horrible Carson parents, Charlotte and Dwight, haven’t. They are still reprehensible. They’ll still do anything – yes, anything – and sacrifice anyone – yes, anyone - to protect themselves, their money, their position. When the parental love and care genes were passed out these two were missing. Jenna was always afraid of Dwight and still is, and when he shows up on her doorstep she has no idea how he found her, and fears what he will do to her and Josh if he doesn’t get his way. We experience that fear with her. Who else knows where they are? What will they do to them? Run? Stay? She is so exhausted by the constant moving, the constant hiding. She and Josh have settled into a pretty good life where they are. Will they have to give up everything again? And then Josh disappears and fear becomes panic.

The story moves between the past and the present. As readers, we see where different choices might have been made, where things weren’t always what they seemed. But as the characters living these lives, they have to go with what they know – and with what they fear. Maybe not all the threats were real, but Jenna’s fear of them certainly was. She kept Josh safe and that was the most important thing. In No More Lies we find out where Lily went, why she ran, what she’s been up to all these years, but that could have been presented in a chapter. What we have, though, is a book full of more twists and turns, secrets, betrayals, astonishing reveals, heartbreak and a lot of fear, justified fear. Once again author Kerry Lonsdale brings a startling, unique perspective to her story. There are many, many ways to look at things, what seems insignificant is sometimes vital, the big event isn’t always the main thing to follow. Lonsdale is amazingly skilled at taking all these everyday, simple pieces and making them into a book where you can’t predict what will happen next and can’t put down until you know.

The characters are well-drawn and believable. As already noted, Mom & Pop Carson are still their horrible selves. Lucas is still living his tragic, bad boy life. We harbor hope that somehow, someday he will turn it around, but who knows. Other figures are angels, like Murielle and her Network of Angels, but potential villains lurk around corners. And what of Tyler, Josh’s father? Her first love? The love of her life? Lily left without telling him where or why she was going. He doesn’t know if she is alive or dead and has no idea that he has a son. Josh knows he has a father, however. How can that work out? The happily-ever-after romantic wish of course is that the danger will cease, Lily/Jenna and Tyler will pick right up where they left off, the sun will come out, bells will ring, and their little family will go on forever. However – Jenna is seeing Kavan. Seriously seeing Kavan. She and Josh have built a comfortable life where they are, a life that has started to include Kavan and his daughter Uma. What about Tyler? Has he moved on? How will he feel if he learns he was deceived? So you know even if they survive the danger there are some tough confrontations and bittersweet moments coming.

As with every book of Lonsdale’s that I have read she delivers an exciting, completely satisfying story, showing us how memories and recollections from childhood can be flawed, leading to misinterpretations and misunderstandings that are very hard to untangle. No More Lies is full of mystery, suspense, secrets, betrayal, danger, but also happiness, hope, love, and the importance of family. Two of the three Carson siblings, Lily/Jenna and Olivia, are slowly finding a way back together. It won’t be easy with everything that has happened and all the time that has passed. But what about their brother Lucas? Will he ever find his way? I can’t wait for the third book in this exciting trilogy to find out.

Thanks to author Kerry Lonsdale and Lake Union Publishing for allowing me to be a member of her No More Team and for providing an advance copy of No More Lies via NetGalley in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own and I recommend it without hesitation. This outstanding author just keeps producing outstanding books. May she never stop!
