Inventive, addictive, and enjoyable! This one really kept me turning the pages. Though it begins as more of a family or relationship drama, it is incredibly engrossing and well-written. The mystery kept me engaged and the main character, Jenna, was complex and interesting. A fun, scandalous and devious summer read!

The Carson Family is full of dark secrets! Olivia's story is Book 1; No More Words, sister Lily's story is Book 2; No More Lies, then out next is brother Lucas's story; No More Secrets. Oh my their parents!! Let's say they are bad people and each story reveals a little more of the dirty dark secrets.

Book 2 Review- Lily's story starts out many years later where she is living under a new name Jenna Mason, has a teenage son, is a very successful animator and living life on the run. This book was fantastic and I love Kerry Lonsdale's writing style. I feel so invested in this family and I could not read the pages fast enough. I enjoyed how this book took a step back from how book 1 ended and really explained in great detail Lily's story. Learning what really happened to make Lily leave home pregnant and alone as a teenager was not what I was expecting. I love when books surprise me and I cannot predict exactly what's going to happen. Thanks to the author & Netgalley for the ARC. I'll be patiently waiting for the next book to release!!

No More Lies, book Two of the "No More" Series tells Jenna Mason (AKA Lily's) story. While this book could be read as a standalone, it is probably best read after the first book, No More Words (telling sister, Olivia's, story). Jenna and Olivia's stories are so intertwined, that reading them one after another is what I would recommend.

Jenna Mason is on the run, and has been since she was 16 years old. She ran to protect her unborn baby, and protecting Josh (now 13 years old) was her biggest priority. She grew up in a VERY dysfunctional family, and was given an ultimatum when her parents found out she was pregnant - get rid of the baby, or leave. She decided to protect her son, and was on the run ever since. There are some reasons she was on the run (including knowing/thinking that she had committed the murder of one of her good friends just before leaving) so Jenna really had multiple reasons that she had to get out of town. She spent years surviving in a Good Samaritan's network of assistance for runaways, then got on her feet and became a successful illustrator, writing books. She promises her son, Josh, a more "normal" life, and settles down, even falling in love and becoming engaged herself to Kavan, a sweet man that has really no idea of her past. When an eager newspaper reporter puts two and two together about who she is and how she may be associated with that death so many years ago, he starts a chain reaction of events that even Jenna is at a loss to stop.

This book is told in alternating points of view, some told by Jenna and some by Josh. It is great to see the different points of view, and get inside both of their brains a little bit. I really enjoyed the character of Jenna, even though some of her decisions were hard to understand, at times. I thought she was a great mother, trying to protect her son. Josh was also a great character, and his frustration at his injury that he gets due to the situation is both understood and heartbreaking for the reader. I really liked the pace of the book, and felt like it was really spot on and exciting. While some of the events were "over the top", at times, that doesn't bother me in books or movies. Escaping real life into these pages is what the goal is, and this was absolutely accomplished with No More Lies.

My ONLY complaint about this book is that it very much mirrors the first book, but is just told by Jenna (and Josh's) perspective. Most of the events of the book are the same, or start shortly before the timeline of Olivia's book. I read the books back to back, so I think I would have preferred some distance between the books, or maybe not so much overlap in plot and theme. Basically both books talk about the same events, and the conclusions of each book ending at the same point of the time line. That is just my personal preference, though, and I don't normally "binge" a book series like I did with the "No More" series.

That being said, I will DEFINITELY tune in for the final installment of the series, No More Secrets, which is (Olivia and Jenna's brother) Lucas's story. This doesn't come out until sometime next year, so I have time to let these two stories marinate before diving in again.

Thank you to Kerry Lonsdale, the publisher and Net Galley for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!

I read this book as a stand-alone without reading the prior in the series (it’s on my list now!) and it held up on its own. The story follows, Jenna, a mom who was a pregnant teenage runaway as she navigates the lies and dangers that haunt her from her past. Lonsdale keeps you wanting more with this page turner. The story line is full of suspense without being gruesome or overwhelmingly creepy. I am looking forward to reading the other books in this series. Thanks to Netgalley, Leery Lonsdale and Lake Union Publishing for an ARC of No More Lies.

How far will a mother go for her child? In the 2nd book of the "No More Trilogy" Kerry Lonsdale once again brilliantly crafts a storyline around lies, secrets, taking risks and at the heart of it all, family, It is definitely a suspenseful storyline that had me unable to stop throughout because I just had to know what would happen next. I became very invested in Lily/Jenna's story and her constant pull to stay hidden away yet do what is best for her son.
The story is a thrilling and emotional ride and while you do not "need" to read the first book - I think if you do, you'll be even more invested in this captivating story! I hope Kerry continues to write because they are always at the top of my must-read list!! Thank you, NetGalley, Kerry Lonsdale, Lake Union Publishing for this ARC. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Dress Me Up Like A Prized Virginia Ham! 😳😯😳🤯

⊰ No More Lies by Kerry Lonsdale ⊱

Although this is a second book in a series, I read it as a stand-alone and totally made sense! From the very beginning I dived in, Lonsdale didn't hesitate on pulling me in with a shocker. Putting this novel down (even for bathroom breaks for myself) was near impossible. The action, the thrill & crazy suspense is never-ending. When you think you understand or have it figured out, she throws another twist at you leaving you scatterbrained!
Jenna seems to have it together now - a nice house with a beach view, an infamous animator creator after teaching herself, finally financially comfortable & a well adjusted, happy son, Josh. But sadly the past has come to take its claim. Jenna used to be Lily. And now a local reporter has unearthed some connections between the two names being her and dredging up a traumatic night years ago. Cue in estranged father Dwight, who decides to blackmail Jenna in order to keep her secret quiet. With everything falling apart, the worst is yet to come - Josh vanishes.
I loved the fast-paced, constant-moving ride! I loved the back & forth that was seemless between Jenna's past & present. That extra insight into it all kept the thrill going. The characters were believable, enticed emotions galore out of me & an absolute enjoyment! I had to know what's next. Family drama at it's dark & twisty-ness! She knows how to leave you wanting more.

Thank you to NetGalley & Lake Union Publishing for this DARC.
Release Date: May 10, 2022

I give this 4 / 5 Bouquets! 💐

While I enjoyed the story there were things about the writing that really annoyed me, I’ll try and explain.

Jenna Mason feels finally able to settle and relax after years of moving every few months. Her 13 year old son Josh has some lovely friends and has settled at his latest school. Jenna has a loving boyfriend and thinks maybe she can stay here. But a local journalist, looking to make a name for himself, seems to have stumbled on her secret. She was not always Jenna Mason, she has a secret that cannot be shared. This is all right at the start of the book. When Jenna (real name Lily Carson) was 16 and pregnant with Josh she killed her best friend Wes Jensen. Oh it was self defence and Wes was not thinking clearly but Jenna will do anything to keep this secret. She had just been thrown out of home for not divulging the baby’s father’s name and her dad threatened to kill whoever it was so very heavy stuff for a 16 year old with no other support system.

Unfortunately, parts of the reporter’s story even though it was canned, leak out luring Jenna’s father, Dwight, out of the woodwork and he has a hold over her. He has a video of Wes being killed. Long story short, someone seems to be terrorising Jenna. Is it Dwight or someone even worse?

It all gets very suspenseful when Jenna decides she has to run again and when Josh asks for a potty break in the middle of nowhere and Jenna gets hit by a car and Josh disappears and, and….The actual story was quite good, if a little predictable and it did seem to veer into soap opera territory. My problem was one of my pet hates - women who constantly wallow in guilt as if they, alone, are the cause of all the world’s ills combined with feelings of being unworthy of anyone’s love if the love interest knew how guilty/bad you are! How much do you have to hate yourself to think like that? It tiring and pointless.

Although this was a self contained story it is apparently book 2 of a trilogy. I checked out the first book and there seems to be quite a bit of overlap between the two books so I’m not inclined to go back for book 1. Many thanks to Netgalley and Lake Union Punlishing for the much

I absolutely loved getting to hear Josh's experience finding his Aunt, and getting to hear what happened to him and Lily that caused them to get separated. It was a bit of a slow burn I thought, but once we got to the beginnings of Josh and Lily getting separated I was hooked and flew through the remainder of the book.

The Carson sibling drama continues in No More Lies, Book Two of the No More series. In this book, we get Jenna’s story and more things become known as to why she ran away from home at the age of sixteen, what happened to her son Josh, and about her continued anxiety and fear of people discovering who she really is and what happened in her past. I could understand why Jenna felt she had to keep running even after she thought she had found a safe place to finally stay put and make a home for Josh. Though I, like Josh, wanted her not to run again. But things start to happen as she discovers someone is stalking her and leaving notes and items from her past on her doorstep which causes her to panic and want to hit the road again. Of course, her main reason for running and always moving is to protect Josh, but Josh has had it with the moving from place to place and wants to stay. Then Josh disappears and she feels, like any mother would, like her world has just come crashing down.

No More Lies is a gripping, thrilling and emotional ride with incredible and surprising twists. It is a book about lies and deceptions, dark family secrets, and, in the end, forgiveness. It is an amazing story about one messed up family, and I cannot wait to read Lucas’ story in Book Three. I highly recommend reading Book One is this trilogy first, then YOU MUST read Book Two. I have to say that Kerry Lonsdale’s books just keep getting better and better. If she continues to write them, I will continue to read them.

Thank you to Kerry Lonsdale, Lake Union Publishing, and NetGalley for the review copy. All opinions in this review are my own.

No More Lies is a brilliantly-crafted thriller about a woman who ran away when she was 16, only to have her past catch up with her, putting her and her son in imminent danger. Jenna is tired of hiding and running and lying, and has finally reached a place where she feels safe and loved—until her lies show up at her front door. This is a taut and suspenseful book that left me breathless with fear and anticipation, a cat and mouse game with Jenna trying to stay out of reach of anyone who wants to hurt her and her son. No More Lies is also an extremely emotional book, leaving me completely invested in what happens to Jenna, Josh, and the people who love them. Not only was I on the edge of my seat, I was also on the brink of tears. The lies and deception, the betrayals and manipulations, are at the root of this twisty and sordid tale. But at its core, this is a book about love, the risks we take, and even the lies we tell.

In book 2 we finally learn what happened to Lilly and how she became Jenna Mason. But just as Jenna is about to uproot her life again, her son Josh goes missing.

Another great Kerry Lonsdale book!

Genre: Family Suspense
Steamy?: Mild
Cliffhanger?: More like a continuation
Can be read as Standalone?: Yes but best to read book 1 first
Rating: 3 out of 5 Stars

This book was Jenna’s story and…. I just didn’t like her. I get she went through a traumatic situation at a vulnerable age while in a vulnerable position… but good grief… she knew D was psychologically manipulative but yet she so easily believes his gaslighting and spends her whole life believing the lie spewed upon her without question. The whole first like 70% of the book dragged since it was basically just her digging herself into deeper holes because she kept holding secrets and telling lies while spending all the time berating herself for it. The last 30% was more enjoyable as I felt the story actually started moving but the conclusion I found to be a bit dissatisfying. This book overlapped the first book, so it was nice to fill in the holes that were exposed in No More Words.

Despite not being a fan of this book, I am looking forward to Lucas’ story in No More Secrets as we don’t have much knowledge on his story so it will be something new and fresh.

I felt very moved while reading of Lily's emotional journey. I loved finding out how she was able to make a life for herself and her son. I enjoyed this novel so much that I didn't want it to end. It was pure joy to read an excerpt from the the final book in the No More series.

After reading the first in the series, I loved getting to continue the story from Jenna's point of view. The lengths a mother will go to protect her child are like no other. I felt like it dragged in some places, but it was still a great follow-up!

Mixed feelings, I cared about the characters but the storyline felt a bit overdramatic to me and a bit too long.

I truly do love everything Kerry Lonsdale writes. She brings out emotion and carves out such realistic slices of life with her words and storytelling. This started a bit slow for me and it took me a while to get into the flow. I picked it up, put it down, did a few chores, rinse...repeat. Then all of a sudden, I couldn't bear to put it down and had to race to the end. I can't say what it is about Kerry's writing that pulls me in. There is just such depth and understanding of how human beings work. So, I won't question it. I'll just enjoy it and say thank you for sharing your gift and talent with us!!

I just want to start out by saying that this is book number two in the No More Trilogy . In the grand scheme of things, you could read this without having read the first book but I would not recommend it as the first book really sets the tone and introductions for the trilogy.

I am a huge fan of Kerry Lonsdale, and I have yet to be disappointed in anything that she has written to date.

Lily Carson is now "Jenna Mason" and "Jenna" finally feels free to start a better life with her son, Josh. Engaged to be married to Kavan.

BUTTTT,....

Jenna has been lying to Kavan and when Josh goes missing, its a race around the clock to find him before Jenna loses it all.

Someone knows Jenna has something to hide, someone knows the truth about Lily Carson....

This cant be good....

If you have not read No More Words, you have time. No More lies does not release until May 2022 and I suggest you catch up!

A great read about a mom that will go to any lengths to keep her son safe, even sacrificing her happiness if needed. A great story full of twists and turns.

This was an emotional and well written story that tells some of the events from the first book from Jenna and Josh`s point of view. However this should not deter the reader from reading this if they have not read the first as I felt the story holds its own weight. A woman who has left behind her past to protect her son and his father from an evil man, her father, who has a lot he wants to kept hidden. Jenna has made a life for herself and finally settled down to the relief of her son who just wants to make friends. Engaged to a wonderful man with a thriving career she feels a sense of contentment, until it all threatens to come crashing down. All the lies she has told and the things she just wants to keep buried suffocate her and someone from her past might have finally caught up to her. She may just have to choose between running again or coming clean and hoping that the people who love her will forgive her. A seriously fantastic read that had me unable to put it down! I cant wait to read the third one!

Kerry Lonsdale, the author of “No More Lies” has written such an amazing, intense, captivating, and suspenseful thriller that I highly recommend to other readers. This is one novel that I read in one sitting!. The genres for this book are a mystery, suspense, thriller, and fiction. The story takes place in the present and goes to the past when it pertains to the characters and events, The author describes her characters as complex and complicated. They are deep dark secrets and terrible lies that can cause disastrous consequences.
