Soomi's Sweater is a cute story for children, but I have to be honest: I was a bit disappointed with it. Having read a few Clavis Publishing's books recently, I was expecting something else. The story in itself was still enjoyable. The drawings were cute, the story too, but I wasn't as fond of it as I had expected to be. The moral of the story still felt nice: Soomi learns that from everything that is a bit damaged can be created something else—something better. This particular point was very nice, I think, especially if told to children in that case.
I would still recommend this short story, though. I am sure some children would appreciate it very much.
Thank you Netgalley and Clavis Publishing for the chance to read this eArc of Soomi's Sweater.

A cute children's book full of amazing pictures and wisdom:
- Whether a problem is big or small, most of the time depends solely on your perspective.
- There's hardly any issue your Mom cannot fix.
- You shouldn't rush things: there's always time for everything.
- If you're in trouble, you can count on your friends.
My 3.5-year-old is a bit like Soomi, and she loved this book.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Clavis Publishing for an Advance Review Copy.

High drama when a young girl in love with her new sweater, even if it is too big and should be kept waiting for her to grow into, gets a mahoosive hole in it as soon as she wears it at school for the first time. It's a little twee story, cutely done as regards the visuals, and has a nice pay-off. But I can't say it'll become a classic, or even be highly memorable, however close-to-life the juvenile repairs and the resulting tantrums get to feel. Three and a half stars, perhaps.

Soomi has a new sweater which quickly turns into a little problem. She's eager to wear her new sweater to school until a thread unravels and she ends up with a hole. This was such a cute story. I love that Soomi's friends all try to help her solve her problem, but eventually she needs more help than they can offer, and mom shows her how to fix it. The illustrations are super cute. I really loved them. I think Soomi's meltdown might have been my favorite drawing. She's a whole mood. I definitely recommend this adorable book.

This storybook is really cute.
How a little kid cannot wait to wear a nice sweater and what happens after she does.
A good lesson for all the kids as to why they can listen to their guardians.
The illustrations are subtle yet amazing.
Thank you author, artist for the advance reading copy.
