This book had so many things I loved: HGTV vibes, small town feel, cocky and confident male character who knows what he wants, driven female character focused on her work, and a sweet dog who sometimes causes mischief.
Silas Wright is a landscaper living in Kinship when Maggie Nichols arrives in town. Maggie is a famous You-Tuber who is renovating the Old Campbell Place with her best friend, Dean. Silas shows up to the house in hopes of drumming up some business, but he also hopes to drum up a relationship with Maggie. Silas is very cocky and forward when he shares what he thinks of Maggie and hopes for their future. Maggie, however, does not feel the same about Silas but gives him a chance at helping with the grounds of the property. As they continue to work together and learn about the history of the house will a relationship begin to blossom? Can Maggie move on from Silas and the Old Campbell Place?
Thank you to Grand Central Publishing and NetGalley for an electronic advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Lucy Score is one of my all time favorite authors and an autobuy for me. So when I saw this title pop up on NetGalley I had to have it.
Like all of Lucy’s books, she grabbed me from the start! I loved the instant attraction between Sy and Maggie. Maggie is YouTube House Flipper, and Sy is the local landscaper hoping to be picked for the job on the rehab of the current house Maggie picked in his town.
The book is filled with amazing secondary characters that Lucy is known for, with all the wit and hilarity that comes with her books.
She has a way of making me fall completely over heels for her characters and this book is no different.
If your a Lucy fan, there may or may not be a couple Easter eggs. 👀🤗😉
And if you enjoyed Lucy’s books Mr. Fixer Upper and Christmas Fix I think you love this one too!

I’m a huge Lucy Score fan, and couldn’t put this one down! It includes plenty of humor and snark, a little mystery, and hot romance.
Maggie is a YouTube star that buys and renovates homes with her best friend. When interviewing potential contractors, she meets Silas - the hot landscaper who falls for her fast and hard. Each of the main characters have a well developed backstory provided, and the relationship builds at a believable pace. Maggie is reluctant to establish physical or emotional roots, while Silas seems to understand how to best support Maggie in various situations.

Maggie Moves on was my first Lucy Score book and I now want to read more of her! This was engaging from the start and I so enjoyed being immersed in this story. There was some great feels, banter, hot bossy moments from Silas, and engaging secondary characters who filled out Maggie's world. It felt like a solid mix of sweet, small town romance and more modern, humorous romcom. It's light on the spice but I still felt their chemistry and tension. Recommend!

WOW. Picking up this book, there was no doubt I was going to love it, after all it is Lucy Score. But it ended up being more than I even thought. Lucy always has the perfect amount of funny, sad, spicy and mystery to pull you in and make you unable to stop reading. The characters are so well developed that you feel like you know them. This book left me wanting to visit “where the f*ck are we, Idaho”! Can’t wait to pick up the paperback copy!

Received a review copy.
I love Lucy Score so much. Every time I think I have found my favorite book by her, she writes another one.
I adore wit and snark so much. So many try to write it but few pull it off like Lucy does. This book crackles with it. It’s not just between the main characters. The friendships are so good and the families are great too. But my favorite thing is the way they build the found family. It is gloriously written and I loved every single bit of it.
There is not a part of this book that is not masterfully done. From the past to the sexy times, the entire book works.
I wish there were more stars.

This book started off slow for me. It felt like it was trying too hard and I couldn't click with the characters...and then midway it all just shifted and I was rooting for Kinship, rooting for Maggie and Silas and as predictable as it all was, I ended up smiling for most of the second half and happy that it all turned out how I expected it to.
I didn't love Silas to start. I didn't love the insta love, the overt confidence or the alpha male tendencies. But his charm wore me down and it felt like he softened throughout the book which made him more endearing.
Speaking of charm, this book is chockful of small-town goodness and the characters in them. Dean, Michael, Wallace, the moms, the dads - they made me feel a part of Kinship and I cheered for their success and happiness. I loved the Cody storyline and wish we got a little more there.
The texts between the four siblings were hilarious and had me laughing out loud (and wishing I had them for brothers and sisters).
In the end it's 4 stars because of how it picked up at the end. If it feels slow at first I say stick with it and you'll be rewarded.

4.25 stars, 2.5 spice
Thank you to netgalley for the ARC, this is an honest review!
This was a very very cute rom com. It is basically like one of those badass women who restore/renovate dilapidated homes on HGTV, except in the book she uses youtube, and the romance is between her and a landscaper.
I related to Maggie so much. She has so many walls up, she feels she has to do everything herself, she has a hard time taking breaks, and she creates clear plans for her life in the hopes of keeping herself from getting hurt.
Silas is hilarious. He is so cocky and funny and he falls hard. Characters like him can get really annoying, but he was so well balanced with how he would also push for mature conversations. He really pushed for clear communication between the two of them, and was really good at seeing what Maggie needed (not what she thought she needed)
I really enjoyed their romance, and the spice was perfect.
I also enjoyed the side characters, especially Wallace and Cody.

I felt the discovery of the lost gold was cute when it was within the house. It helped us learn more about wallace, and make the discovery about the true author.... but when it left the house and they were searching for the rest it really gave me Holes vibes... I felt like since that discovery was at the very end that it was somehow supposed to be more important than the relationship? It just felt weirdly easy and almost YA? It just felt a bit out of place from the rest of the book.
I think the time used for the gold searching could have been re allocated to show more of the relationship/background between Maggie, her dad and her half sister.

Absolutely loved this book. Maggie and Hot Landscape Guy were great characters. She always fixes, flips and moves on due to childhood issues. He's there to stay. He announces that she's going to marry him as soon as they meet. I laughed out loud at parts of this book. I highly recommend this one.

I absolutely loved this book! Lucy Score certainly has a way with words and a wonderful sense of humor. I highly recommend it!

This has just what I love from a Lucy Score novel! It was witty, charming, and sweet. She does banter like no other. She gets better and better with every new book.

Small Town Romance at its finest!
Maggie Movies On checks all the boxes for my romance novel jams. Quirky small town, strong heroine, alpha (yet softy hero), super large funny family, amazing side characters, cranky old grump, animal antics, and a fun mystery/treasure hunt.
I love that Maggie was the house flipper/improvement star of the book and that Silas was the romantic softy. It was a nice change of pace to have the typical gender roles switched. Maggie and Silas grew as the book progressed, but it was also enjoyable to see the development of some of the side characters as well.
Lucy's world building really made me feel like I was in the town of Kinship, watching the Old Campbell Place become alive, feeling the summer sun and breeze.
Maggie Moves On is a wonderful escape into a quirky town, where signs matter for those who take the time to look.

A book with heart, humor and depth, Lucy Score has done it again! Maggie Moves On (love the title and cover) is an upbeat story delving into the world of home renovation/house-flipping, relationships, and the role social media plays in helping people fulfill their dreams. Maggie and Silas, the main characters, are well developed and fun. The story starts out simple enough, but in true Lucy Score fashion, the depth reveals itself page after page. From a variety of angles the story showcases relationships ... the family we are born into, the family we choose, relatable adult sibling banter, one's role in their community, the relationship between creators/influencers and followers on social media, and how we give and receive love. It's a lot to pack into a story but expertly crafted into an enjoyable read. There are a few Easter Eggs in the story for fans of Lucy's previous books, but nothing distracting to new reader of her works. Bottom line: Lots of true romance and romantic settings, some steamy scenes, witty banter and relatable circumstances, in a story that you will want to read more than once.

This was such a great book! It was a fun read with lots of family dynamics (mostly the good kind), and a mystery/treasure hunt to solve which I thought was a really good twist for the story! There were a lot funny parts that helped to balance the heavier moments, and just so many perfectly said pieces. Even a few things I needed to hear. I highlighted so many things it took me 30 minutes to read through them all so I could post this review lol!
I loved how Silas was so confident and sure of himself because he did it with a little bit of humility and humbleness mixed in. I loved how driven Maggie was; but mostly I loved the growth we see in both characters.
I won’t say the book was too long because it wasn’t. It just took me longer than I would have like to read it, if that makes any sense at all lol. It did get a little slow for me in the middle of the first 10 chapters or so, but then picked right back up and didn’t stop. It’s a standalone read with some steam (I could have done with a little more but there was a decent amount). Truly a great read!

Ah, Maggie and Silas, where do I begin? First let me say that I am so, so in love with Kinship, Idaho – I’ve never been more tempted to move all the way across the country before! Alas, Lucy Score has done it again – made me fall in love with a fictional town and fictional characters that charm you from page one. Maggie is a successful YouTube star with a house flipping show who scoops up “The Old Campbell Place” in Kinship in memory of the vacations she spent there with her mom. Silas is the swoony owner of Bitterroot Landscapes who is immediately smitten with our leading lady. But, like the title suggests…Maggie doesn’t stick around once she flips a house! Buckle up for a front row seat to Silas pulling out all the stops to challenge Maggie’s desire to move on!
I think one of the things I love most about Lucy Score’s books are the secondary characters and the way she makes the location of the book a character of its own. A Lucy Score secondary character immediately makes you want to reach out and beg her to write all of their stories. For instance, Maggie’s partner Dean, Silas’ brother Michael, the curmudgeonly lovable Mr. Wallace Pfeffercorn, Cody, the “just trying to make it” high school senior, Dayana – are you picking up what I’m putting down? All of these characters come to life and make you absolutely fall in love with them and want to know – what’s next for them!?
Woven into this story is a mystery about a long ago covered wagon robbery, the famous author/builder of The Old Campbell Place and where the other half of the gold from the robbery ended up. Simply put, this story has it all – romance, intrigue and a cozy, warm feeling that makes you feel like you got a big hug from your grandma. You won’t want to miss this book and you’ll be just as devastated as I was when you read the last page!

Maggie Moves On by Lucy Score is a fantastic combination of romance, home renovations, and a touch of mystery. Think that doesn't sound like a fabulous read? Guess again! Maggie and Dean travel the country renovating homes and posting the reno videos via social media. Her adoring fanbase is ever-growing, and the projects get bigger and bigger, but the Old Campbell place may just be more than Maggie bargained for.
The quirky little, down-on-its-luck town of Kinship, Idaho welcomes Maggie and Dean with open arms. However, cranky old Wallace Pfeffercorn isn't quite as welcoming. Kinship feels more like a huge messy family than a town. It is somewhere you want to be real. It is full of people you want to see succeed. These people look out for another, and they come together in the best of ways.
Not only does Maggie get pulled into the mystery behind the Old Campbell place, but she also starts to wonder if this could be where she finally grows roots. Silas, the silver-tongued, go-with-the-flow, I believe in signs, hot landscaper is the perfect counterpart to Maggie's reserved, overworked, self-reliant attitude. Silas, being the one to be smitten so quickly was the best! I laughed, I cried, and I fell in love with Maggie Moves On.

This book is amazing! I’ve always been a fan of Lucy and in true Lucy fashion she’s given us the small town feels we love with a kickass heroine and swoony hero.

Read this if you:
•watch too much HGTV
•have wanderlust
•love a hot landscaper man
•adore small town charm
•believe in signs
This book was absolutely adorable and makes me IMMEDIATELY want to visit Idaho. Thank you NetGalley & Forever publishing for eARC in exchange for an honest review. Pub date: June 21

** spoiler alert ** Thank you Net Galley for the ARC of Maggie Moves On by Lucy Score.
This book was not what I expected! I enjoy everything I’ve read by Lucy Score and this was no different.
I love that Silas was all in from the first time he met Maggie. I had expected an enemies to lovers trope but was pleasantly wrong on that thought.
I loved every single character in this book from the grumpy old Wallace to all the strong women and supportive ment to Kevin, Dolly and Taco.
This book was phenomenal and I highly recommend everyone read it!

Lucy Score's again!! This author never disappoints. Maggie is a house rehabber who travels and renovates homes for her You Tube channel who has returned to a place that has some meaning for her to tackle the mansion she noted on a childhood visit with her mother. Silas is the landscaper with a quick wit and a plan to win her heart. The town and families around them are entertaining and support characters with, hopefully, their own books to come. A definite TBR item!!!
