Lucy Score has done it again! She made me fall in love with Maggie and Sy and a whole house full of whacky characters. If you’ve read any of Lucy’s books you know what I’m talking about! If you haven’t, this is a great book to start! Lucy is the queen of small town romance!

I can always count on Lucy Score to keep me entertained while reading any of her books. I liked this book, but I did not love it.
Maggie has a very popular YouTube channel where she goes around and renovates homes. She’s never in the same place for long, and has no interest in settling down.
Silas is dead set on having her forever. He knew from the first moment meeting her that Maggie was the woman for him.
Though this book kept me entertained, there was just something missing for me. Maybe it was a lack of chemistry between the two characters? I loved how quirky Maggie was and can see the appeal from Silas’s point of view. But she never really took the time to get to know him long enough to develop true feelings. At least it took her a hot minute to do so.
I loved the supporting characters and the quirkiness of the town, too!

Thank you NetGalley for an ARC of Maggie Moves On!
I don't have much to say. I knew what I was getting into, and I'm not complaining about the predictable plot and all that, but this book just felt like it kept dragging the story and it took me forever to get through. If I didn't have to review it, I would have DNFed and put it right back in the shelf. I liked the guy falling first, banter, and that's about it. Both MCs were insufferable a lot of the time.

The best parts of Maggie Moves On weren't in the story itself or the leads, but in the multi-dimensional cast of supporting characters. Their chemistry and spirit made this book much more enjoyable.
However, I really struggled with Silas. His flirtatious personality was supposed to be charming and endearing, but it was way too heavy-handed for me. The way he hit on Maggie while pitching her as a client did not come off as cute, but made me feel uncomfortable. A couple times throughout the story, he seemed too possessive of Maggie, even when she spoke up for herself and told him to back down. He could have been a strong and supportive counterpart to her without coming off so controlling.

I enjoyed Maggie Moves On. It's a good story and kept me entertained. Everyone was supportive and it was a community I would want to spend time in. I enjoyed Silas's immediate attraction to Maggie and I got goosebumps when he called her his future wife at their first meeting. If I had a criticism, it is that the story was a bit busy and too short. I wanted more depth to Maggie and Silas's relationship and maybe a better understanding of Maggie herself. Maybe I needed more memories or more discussion of her feelings of being abandoned. I needed Silas to acknowledge that and understand the growth she needed to make.. All of the side characters were fun, but it meant keeping track of a lot of smaller stories. All were entertaining, but they detracted from the romance. I would like to note that I enjoyed the side story with Cody and I kind of wanted a little bit more of that as well.
The smexy times were awesome! Overall, I enjoyed this book and I'm glad I had the opportunity to read it.

Thank you for the opportunity to read and review Maggie Moves On by Lucy Score. I was excited to read this book, but mildly disappointed after much anticipation.
The premise is good, but I had a hard time getting involved in the story. Maybe I just wasn't in the right mood.

Maggie has a highly popular YouTube house flipping show. She goes to Kinship, Idaho to restore the old Campbell place. This is a town she has fond memories of visiting with her mother years ago. In the process she stumbles on a century old mystery, love with the "Hot Landscaper Guy", an adorable dog, and her own family drama.
The premise is good, but I had a hard time getting involved in the story. Maybe I just wasn't in the right mood.
Overall a good book for a cold winter day, or a hot day on the beach.

A big thank you to NetGalley and Grand Central Publishing for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. Wow!! What a fun book. I loved Maggie and Sy. What strong characters. I enjoyed it all. I want more!! I am hooked. I wish I had that kind of relationship with my Ex. 4 stars

"It’s a kiss, Maggie. Not a commitment. One kiss won’t cost you a lifetime."
I thought I would love this one so much more than I did. It had a wonderful premise, straight out of a HGTV home improvement show. The story would have actually played out better had I watched it on a screen. YouTube star Maggie Nichols takes her show to Kinship, Idaho, to fix up the Old Campbell Place. She hires "Hot Landscaper Guy" Silas Wright as part of the renovation and he falls for her instantly. Does she move on once the renovation is complete or does she stay in Kinship and finally make herself a home?
What I liked:
* Silas was a great cinnamon roll hero, protective and fiercely loving.
* Both Maggie and Silas had hearts of gold, offering kindness without expecting anything in return.
* I enjoyed watching both Maggie and Silas learning how to accept each other's personalities with Maggie needing to plan and have control over her life and Silas more impulsive. I also liked seeing Maggie's growing confidence as she relinquished her grip on constant planning to truly enjoy the things in her life worth having.
* The family dynamics added an interesting complexity to the story, filling it with lots of love.
* Kevin the bulldog was simply perfect and provided a great source of entertainment throughout.
What didn't work for me:
* The book was way too long, dragging in parts, and it took me forever to read. The story could have been trimmed greatly and would still have been complete.
* The inclusivity and diversity, while appreciated, felt somewhat forced.
* I never really felt the connection between Maggie and Silas and the mood shifted from sweet to sexy too abruptly despite the slow pace of the story.
* The heart of the story didn't seem to appear until the last quarter of the book.
"Confidence comes from knowing that whatever the situation, you know you’ll make the best of it. Confidence is certainty in your ability to rise."

Maggies Moves On is a sweet and fun small town romance (that also delivers on the spice) that will be a perfect summer read when is comes out in June 2022.
The book follows YouTuber Maggie Nichols who has a channel dedicated to renovating and flipping homes. She's just purchased a ruined mansion in Kinship, Idaho that she plans on restoring to its former glory and showing the process to her nearly 1M subscribers. She hires Silas Wright as her landscaper for the job and the two hit it off. Although the romance between the two leads is the main focus of the story, what I particularly loved about the book is the sense of family and community. Maggie's mother died when she was 21, and although she has her longtime friend and business partner Dean, other than that she's been fairly isolated. But throughout her time in Kinship she makes strong connections to others in the community - especially Silas big, crowded and loving family. There was also an element of mystery surrounding the house and its previous owners, including being tied to a century old gold heist.
The only reason I didn't rate this book higher was that even though I really enjoyed Maggie and the other cast of characters in Kinship, I didn't love Silas. There's major insta-love in that he started to refer to Maggie as his "future wife" starting from their first encounter. But also he can be possessive and at two instances in the book he becomes angry when he feels that Maggie has taken unnecessary risks without consulting him. This irritated me because they had barely been dating for very long and she's a grown woman capable of making her own decisions. However, I do think that some people will swoon over the macho protector energy. I'm just a raging feminist #grlpwr

I LOVED this book SO much! This is my first book by Lucy Score and now I am wondering where has she been all my life?!? You have Youtube home renovation star Maggie working on a project in Kinship, Idaho and Silas the hot small hometown landscaper who immediately feels as if Maggie is the love of his life. A man who believes in signs and mean to bes.
The banter between Maggie and Silas? Love it! The banter between Maggie and Dean? Love it! The banter between Silas and Kevin? Love it! The banter between every single person in this book? LOVE IT! It was truly the conversations and the back and forth between the characters that really made this book feel so real and so entertaining. Don't forget the becoming a family with the most random group of people. And the revelation of Maggie's connection to Kinship definitely made me tear up. What a beautiful moment!
My only con for the story was that at times, Silas felt pushy and overbearing. Not really taking a 'no' for an answer because of his belief that Maggie was truly the girl of his dreams. I'm all for going for your dreams, and believing in whatever is that you do, but it was bit much at times.
Overall, it was such a great book! Thank you SO much NetGalley and Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for allowing me to read this. It did not disappoint!

Another fantastic read by Lucy Score. I loved everything about Maggie and Silas. He is the epitome of perfect book boyfriend. No one, absolutely NO ONE, compares to Lucy Score when it comes to building the world around her characters, laugh out loud humor and fantastic dialogue. When trying to decide which of her books is my favorite, it
was a 5 way tie and Maggie Moves On just made it 6. MUST READ!

I love Lucy's back list and this book was no exception, I have already pre-ordered my paperback to add to my bookshelf. Lucy sucks you in with her characters, you even fall for the side characters, You won' want t to put this book down, but you won't want it to end. She has witty banter and always had great character development!

I really loved the whirlwind romance between Maggie, a home renovator on YouTube and Silas, the landscaper that she hires to work on one of her latest projects. Their connection was hot and steamy! I also really liked all the side character development. There were a bunch of secondary characters and the author did a great job giving them a lot personality. What I didn’t really enjoy was all the background info about the house that Maggie is renovating and it’s history. I thought it was interesting, but I felt that too much time was spent on that part of the plot. Other than that, another highly enjoyable book by Lucy Score!

Maggie Moves On is excellent!
I can't say enough good things about this small town romcom but I feel the need to start out with my love for Kevin. Any animal lover will fall immediately in love with this pooch!
Maggie is a DIY house flipper that finds herself in Kinship working on the biggest house of her career. Upon hiring contractors she comes across Silas, the landscaper. It's a bit of instalove on his part and Maggie sure can resist him...but not forever. She is someone who fixes things and moves on and Silas is determined to make her stay.
I fell for all of these characters. This town sucks them all in and no one is an outsider. The wild west mystery of the town lore is a great addition. Love when old houses have stories behind them. This story is about finding your place and all the other wise words Silas has to share. I wanted to be a part of this town while reading it and loved every moment that made me laugh and swoon. Great book!

Oh, this book! I am so sad to see it end and can easily say it’s one of my absolute favorites in this genre in a long time. It was a perfect balance of romance, family dynamics, personal growth, and small town kinship and camaraderie.
The story of Maggie, a self made YouTube house flipping celebrity, and Sy, a small town landscape will stay with me for a long time. I absolutely loved the additional family characters and the dive into the town’s (fictional) history. This was such a fun read and I’ll be over here waiting to see what this author comes up with next!
Thank you Forever and Grand Central Publishing for my gifted review copy.

This book was a whirlwind of activity multiple levels deep. I wasn’t bored for a second, and there were a few twists I genuinely didn’t see coming! Funny, cute, intriguing, and occasionally quite spicy, this is a great read for when you need a little extra drama with your romance!
Maggie Nichols has quite literally built her life around being on the move. Never in one place for long, she has turned her career of flipping houses for her extremely popular YouTube series into a way of living - constantly on the road, making dreams come true for everyone but herself.
But when the opportunity to repair and renovate a dilapidated Victorian mansion in the tiny town of Kinship, Idaho is presented to her, Maggie quickly finds a wrench thrown into all her plans.
Working closely with local businesses means working closely with shockingly charming and incredibly good-looking landscaper Silas Wright, who’s decided right off the bat that he and Maggie are meant to be more than just business partners.
With so much work to get done, and the clock ticking on Maggie making her usual swift exit, Silas is determined to show her how great it can be to grow roots in one place. And Maggie is determined to keep him from getting too close. But as the project drags on, she finds herself building more than just a dream home - she may also be building the family to fit in it.

This book was a great rom com. Maggie is a strong indeoendent woman who knows wat she wants from life. Her newest project throws her for a loop when she meets Sy. Sy is a charming, handsome landscaper who constantly pushed Maggie out of her comfort zone. The dialogue had me laughing out loud. This book was witty, charming, emotional and gave me all of the feels. I really fell for all of the characters in this book. 5 out of 5 stars for me! I was hooked from the first chapter.

Lucy Score writes the best books. In-depth characters that make you want to continue reading but with some humor to keep things from getting too heavy. Maggie has to decide if she wants to risk her heart and stay or keep on with her nomadic lifestyle. A definite must read.

There’s a lot to like here - small town setting? Check. Cute animal friend? Check. Friends, family, a little mystery? All of that, but unfortunately, this one didn’t work well for me. I wasn’t able to find a connection to the characters and the story seemed very slow at times.

My thanks to Netgalley and Forever Publishing for an advanced copy of this book!
Take this review with a grain of salt because I have been in a major reading slump lately. This book has a lot of really great things-- found family, an HGTV-esque setting, some steam, small town vibes, a hilarious dog named KEVIN!!!
If you love a book where the guy falls first and HARD, then this will be right up your street. I thought the insta-love was a little aggressive to start, but I warmed up to Maggie and Silas eventually. Maggie was a super stubborn character, but as someone who is also incredibly stubborn I related to her a lot. The way Maggie slowly falls in love with the town and it's people was really sweet and I especially loved the storyline with Cody.
However, there were a few things that didn't really work for me. This book is quite long for a romance, and also has several background storylines happening that muddled plot and characters and I felt could've been trimmed. We didn't learn about some of Maggie's ~trauma~ until like 75% of the way through the book, but it was alluded to several times to the point where I thought I had missed chapters. The ending also tied up way too neatly and pat for me.
I think a lot of people will really enjoy this one, but it was maybe a case of wrong book, wrong time for me.
