Silas and Maggie's story was exactly what I needed. It's laugh out loud funny, and has some serious steam while still being sweet, I love the quirky small town and the side characters, which includes and adorable dog, made the story even more wonderful! Filled with great banter, insta love, from our H, and blazing chemistry this book is exactly why Lucy is one of my favorite authors!!

Lucy Score's novels are like onions... they always have tons of layers. "Maggie Moves On" did not disappoint. She does an amazing job of making readers feel like they're in Kinship with Maggie and Silas (hopefully there's another handyman around town). Looking forward to Score's future work and definitely going to dive into her backlist when I'm needing a sweet read with depth.

Thank you to @netgalley and @readforever for a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. Thank you to @hachetteaudio for a free download of the audiobook.

This was my first book by @scorelucy , and now I have added all her books to my tbr! Maggie Moves On was a story about Maggie, a home renovator with a show on YouTube. She purchases a old manor determined to rehabilitate it. It is the largest job Maggie and her partner Dean have ever taken on. Dean is dropping not so subtle hints that he’s ready to slow down their schedule, but Maggie doesn’t want to hear it….until Silas infiltrates her life. And Cody too.

The length of this book was daunting at first, but I was pleasantly surprised by how fast the reading was and couldn’t put it down. I loved how Maggie worked with the town to restore the home and how she grew to love the town. I struggled with how domineering Silas was, but I can also see how Maggie needed to be told to stop. Stop running and look around.

This is my favorite Lucy Score book I've read so far! I loved the interactions between Maggie and Silas, and was really interested in their story and character development. Overall it was a fun casual book and I enjoyed reading it.

Maggie isn't one to stay in once place and flips houses for her popular YouTube channel. She's almost at 1 million followers and I have to say that's pretty impressive. I love watching shows like that, so the whole renovating aspect of this story was a lot of fun to read about.

At the start of this book she's set to get this house done and move on to the next one. Then enter Silas, the landscaper, and things make change. I'm not normally a fan of instalove, but I love how sure Silas was of the fact he was going to end up with Maggie. She was his dream girl. Their banter was so much fun and I loved them getting to know each other. We don't get the grumpy/sunshine trope with the female lead at the grump very often. I loved how Silas really broke down her walls and we got to know more about how Maggie built them up in the first place. Add Silas' dog, Kevin, and that completely sealed the deal.

Something I also love is an amazing cast of side character and Maggie Moves On didn't let me down with that aspect either. Dean was an amazing character and I loved how important he was to Maggie. Silas' family had me smiling and it warmed my heart. I also love how Lucy Score added a dash of mystery when she finds something in the old house she's renovating.

All in all, Maggie Moves on was such a heartwarming book that had me laughing out loud. I definitely should've read something by this author a lot sooner. Thankfully I have a pretty big backlist I can get through.

This was such a cute rom com! This book had a lot of things I'm a sucker for... grumpy/sunshine, HGTV, cute animals, influencers, and a precious love story. Also, it had a hint of mystery as well. This book felt like the best Hallmark movie. Definitely a book that I was sucked into and would recommend to others.

A Youtube housing flipping sensation?? Count me in! The attraction between her and a landscaper…. phew how hot. The journey with them is amazing and this book just has so much charm.

This was great! I love a good home improvement themed romance novel. I liked that this book was shorter than some of Lucy Scores other books. It made the flow and helped with the readability.

Small town humor delivered in this one. I really wanted to love the romance more but there was chemistry missing I think. Overall a good read and the animals really stole the show in this one.

Thank you to NetGalley, Forever, & Grand Central Publishing for the opportunity to read and review this book before it's publication date! This in no way affected my review, opinions are my own.

DNF @ 25%

I really wanted to like this one, and I've seen so many good reviews from people - but it just was not working. I had zero interest in what was happening for pretty much the entire 25% that I read, and ultimately I couldn't make myself pick it up again.

This is my first book by Lucy Score, and I am a fan! Maggie Moves On takes readers on a fun and sexy journey with Maggie and Silas as they flip a home/landscape. Silas' dog is also a fun addition to the story.

Many thanks to the author, publish, and NetGalley for sharing this book with me. All thoughts are my own.

This was such a lovely written book. Knowing it was a small town romance, I knew I had to pick it up especially seeing Tessa Bailey praise this one. I haven’t read any of Score’s books so I was happy to start this one. Let me say that I wasn’t disappointed at all. Her writing was amazing and perfectly paced. I enjoyed the dialogue between the main characters and the conflicts that were written into the story. The setting was different then what you expect as it takes place in Idaho when usually authors choose are more populated state. I loved all the elements combined in this book and was surprised how well it balanced out.

The main characters in this book are both Maggie and Silas. Maggie is house flipping star and Silas is a chill landscaper. Both are completely different characters and I enjoyed their stories. They had such wonderful character developments and also such amazing bantering. There are also a good bit of side characters in this story who are more on the side instead of involved which was perfect for this read. The romance was a bit oof for me. I love opposite attracts in a small town but man was it a slow burn. The guy falls first and I was just waiting for Maggie to get it!

The ending was well written and I absolutely enjoyed this book. I don’t know why it took so long for me to read it because it was such an amazing story. Yes the romance could have been better but it was still such a great story. I have heard that Score’s other books are bit spicy but this one is pretty chill on the spice. I totally recommend reading this book especially if you love Tessa Bailey and Mariana Zapata.

While I enjoyed this book, it seemed to lack in actual substance. I also thought it was much longer than it needed to be. The characters were cute but I sometimes found them annoying and had trouble actually picturing Maggie and Silas together.

Fans of house flipping and remodels will enjoy that aspect of the book, unfortunately it’s not really my thing so I found myself skimming. The history of the antiques found in the house was also a little boring to me. Sadly a miss for me.

This was my first book by Lucy Score and it certainly won't be my last. If you are a fan of any renovation/HGTV show then you must read Maggie Moves On. Maggie and Silas are legit fire together! I loved them plus Silas's dog stole the show! House flipping with a hot landscaper is all you need. I will say the story was slightly longer than I thought it needed to be but all in all I have no complaints.

House-flipping sensation and YouTube star Maggie Nichols can’t wait to dig into her next challenge. Arriving in tiny Kinship, Idaho, with only a cot and a coffeemaker, Maggie is prepared to restore a crumbling Victorian mansion in four months or less. She has her to-do lists, her blueprints, and her team. What she doesn’t have is time for sexy, laid-back landscaper Silas Wright.

The man takes flirtation to a whole new level. And he does it shirtless…sometimes pants-less. He and his service school-dropout dog are impressively persistent. But she’s not interested in putting down roots. Not when fans tune in to watch her travel the country turning dilapidated houses into dream homes. A short-term fling on the other hand could fit nicely into her calendar. After all, Maggie remembers what fun is like. Vaguely.

As their summer gets downright steamy, Silas manages to demolish the emotional walls she’s spent years building, sending Maggie into a panic. He’s the wrench in her carefully constructed plans. With the end of the project looming, she has a decision to make. But how can she stay when her entire career is built on moving on?

The banters are soooo goooddddd. Holy shit, Silas Wright is smth else.
Thanks Netgalley for the copy!
