I loved this book. The character development was great. The plot was so good and the romance was perfection. Highly recommend!

What a great read!!! Maggie, our heroine, is a DIY house-flipper who found success on YouTube. Her latest project is an old Victorian (you had me at turret) in Kinship, Idaho, where we meet Silas, the handsome gardener and his lovable pitbull. Silas immediately decides Maggie is his future wife and pursues her.

What makes this such a great read though, is that you get so much more than just their love story. There is also a mystery (involving treasure and the wild west!) to be solved about the house. As well the town (and it's people) of Kinship, which is such an appropriate name for the town as one of the best parts of the book were the all the relationships in it (familial - both found/made and blood, friendship, neighbors coming together, etc.).

It is gratifying when you close the back cover of a book and cannot stop smiling. Maggie Moves On by Lucy Score left me with a huge grin. The way the story ended, with no loose ends, spoke to my happily ever after seeking heart. The epilogue was perfect!

YouTube sensation Maggie and her gay ex Dean are the perfect team for flipping houses. Both single, they fix, flip, and move on to the next project, forming no attachments. Nearing the one million viewers mark, Maggie takes on an enormous rundown house in Kinship, Idaho that has a storied and intriguing past. Perhaps an even more interesting future. Can Silas, the hot landscape guy, show Maggie that it is time for her to settle down and plant some roots? The delicious banter between Sly Sy and Maggie is swoon worthy. The intimate scenes were downright steamy. Such fun to read. I delighted in Silas’s family dynamic. The moms, dads, and all the siblings were perfect. I want them to be my family! If you love a delightful rom com with romance, a dog, some kittens, and mystery thrown in, this book is what you need. It was an enjoyable read.

I loved this book! I could not put it down! Maggie and Silas and the town, it was everything I didn’t know I needed in a romance novel. There is passion, mystery, SPICE, and a home renovation to boot. This book is everything Tessa Bailey’s Hot and Hammered series is but better! And it’s a standalone novel.

Thank you to NetGalley and Grand Central Publishing for an advance copy to review.

Maggie Moves On, into the reader’s hearts with Maggie’s endearing charm, quick wit, great sense of humour, and her attention to detail. Silas the love interest and her landscape architect, instantly ignites an unmatched chemistry between them the moment he lays eyes on her. The sparks are red hot and together they burn bright but are they willing to settle for some hiring that may not be permanent?

Maggie and her business partner Dean are on top of the YouTube home renovating scene moving to the small town Kinship, Idaho for their last eat and greatest project to date; the Old Campbell Mansion. It sits atop a hill overlooking the idiotic town. It’s is everything a new renovator would avoid. Too much risk for little pay off but it calls to Maggie and she knows it’s her destiny to restore this home to the great estate it once was.

When Silas, the landscaper shows up and starts laying on the charm trying very hard to flirt with her, Maggie knows she is in for one heck of a renovation. She is tearing down walls in the house and building them in her heart to protect herself of getting attached to what is supposed to be just another project.

This story has everything, romance, mystery, spice, love, family, community. Lucy Score expertly dropped hints early on in the book to plot points that would be brought up and she delivered on every single one. There is no point in the book where the reader is left hanging. Every question is answered in the end and the journey to get there unravels like a true mystery.

The Old Campbell Mansion has a history steeped in the myths that surround the town. Back during the days of the Wild West and the gold rush the wealthy writer A. Campbell family put down roots in Kinship and left their publishing rights to the town. Now that Maggie owns the house will she uncover the secrets that A. Campbell left behind?

A personal favourite part of the book is the relationships Maggie makes along the way. Lacking a family structure in her life she fills the gaps with the people around her. Her found family. Lucy Score drops a hint early in the story about a boy that I so hoped would become a larger feature in the book and I was not disappointed. His storyline was everything and more than I could have imagined.

There is quite a bit of spice in this book. It is hot and heavy and intense. Never a moment where is seems needlessly added. Those scenes add just the right amount of passion to the book.

The dialogue is fantastic. The conversations move smoothly and it is very easy to determine who is speaking during the scene where there are many characters present. The entire first three chapters fly by while Maggie and Silas are introduced to each other. The things they said had me laughing along unknowingly turning the pages because so couldn’t get enough of them. The text conversations are also very adorable. (Especially the pictures text Silas sends to his siblings while out with Maggie. I loved it!)

The narrative is extremely well done. As I mentioned there are several plot lines that weave together and each one is fascinating. There are hints dropped at the right times to give the reader an idea of a new plot or piece of information that will be revealed in time. Lucy Score is also very good at not revealing the answers to the reader too early. The anticipation of discovering something at the same time as the character is not to be expected in this novel. Maggie holds on to her discoveries until she is ready for them to be revealed and it made for one heck of a revaluation!

Maggie Moves On is well worth the read. It is one that I can’t wait to reread because so am sure there are secrets and clues that I missed while reading the first time!

The whole cast of characters that were brought to life in this book are incredibly vibrant and varied. I love how individually strong and sufficient both FMC and MMC were, without major drama, misunderstandings, or miscommunication. The life decisions and personal growth choices presented for the relationship tension was refreshing and woven into the whole character and story development so well. One thing... the MMC was almost TOO PERFECT. If a man/woman out there like that exists then those around them are the luckiest humans in the world, especially their chosen significant other.

4.5/5 stars.

I'm ecstatic that this was my first book I was able to read and finish through Netgalley! This book follows a house-flipper Youtuber named Maggie and her super hot landscaper Silas in small-town Idaho. While this book has all the makings of a fantastic contemporary romance--including the grumpy/sunshine trope and great spice--it is so much more than that. The "found family" trope and the way that Maggie's character develops as the story goes on is so beautiful. It was refreshing how diverse the characters in this book were without feeling forced or inaccurate.

I also love a good dual POV in a romance novel and it was so so so cute how Silas was pining after Maggie from literally the second chapter. I will say that I found some of his over-protectiveness to be a little much especially when Maggie was pretty clear about what she did or didn't want to do as far as getting into a relationship with Silas. It's a fine line though and I still thought that their relationship was so sweet and all of the characters were so nicely developed and I loved them all dearly.

This isn't my first Lucy Score book and I must say she never disappoints me. Well written, great characters and as always lots of romance, with fun and a few tears. I especially liked the extra at the end.

This book turned out so much better than I expected!! I thought it was just going to be the typical HEA story but it was so much more. Maggie is complex and a self proclaimed tumbleweed until she meets Silas, the hot landscaper who slowly breaks down her walls. Silas trusts his gut and believes in signs and getting Maggie to see the signs they were meant to be took more work than he’s ever had to do in his life. With the help of his family, friends, and lovable canine, the town of Kinship Idaho grew on Maggie while helping Silas realize Maggie was who he’s been missing all his life, he just needed her to see and want it too.

This entire book is filled with a lovable ban of misfits that form the perfectly imperfect family. Maggie gained so much being in Kinship-she finally found a home and with the family she made for herself. Silas’s unwavering support and charm helped Maggie move on from her nomadic life and put down roots surrounded by unconditional love. And how can you not love Kevin, the adorable canine companion full of comedic relief? Old homes always hold surprises- some good, some bad, and some unbelievably connected to the signs of the universe.

Rating 4.5 stars

Lucy Score has a way of writing that just makes everything and everyone REAL and ALIVE and you just want to stay in that world because you end up caring about every single person and animal you meet.
This story is so much more than what you think you are getting. (That’s why I’m not a huge fan of blurbs.) Yes, you get the main character romance, but the growth they go through and the romance and growth of all the extra characters you meet in Kinship, Idaho. This is definitely a book I’ll be reading again.

~I was given this book and made no commitments to leave my opinions, favorable or otherwise~

Downloaded this yesterday and read late into the night to finish this amazing read!! I am new to Lucy Score, and Maggie Moves on was my second read by her! I love the strong and independent Maggie and I love the sweet and swoony Sy. This story gave me the warm fuzzy feelings and I love how Lucy writes strong family units in her books. Overall, loved this one and I can't WAITTTT to read more from Lucy!!!

4 stars - I liked it

This book is so sweet!!

I saw this on NetGalley, noticed who the author is, I've been wanting to read a Lucy Score book since FOREVER, and then saw the publisher and I'm like what???? The not even five minutes later, I see a story about this book, about what it's about, heard the phrase "He falls for her the minute he sees her" and I'm like "Sold", and that's when I started to read it😂

Now this book was CUTE. There's the banter which is fantastic, there's a small town, there's the male MC that's a landscape architect (yes please!!) that is very handsome and HE. FALLS. FIRST. Already love him of course, you can't not love Silas in this book, he's the best, and his dog Kevin. Kevin is also the best. You'll love Kevin.

The banter and characters in this book were awesome! The two people were the best, I love how Maggie is a Youtuber who does house flips on her channel. It's what you expect in small town banter, and I'm here for it! 👏

Silas is amazing. He's such an awesome book boyfriend, he's funny, very sweet, very persistent but in a cute way, super compassionate, he's the best!!

I do have some things to note, but keep in mind that these are just my personal opinions and preferences when reading!! I don't love characters who are stubborn, just not my thing. Maggie is a stubborn character in this book, and it's fun to see Silas wear her down throughout, but again, it's a me thing. And this book was long too, so if you like longer books, look no further!!

Thank you to NetGalley and Forever Pub for the earc in return for an honest review.

This book has it all. There was romance, home renovation, quirky pets and even a little mystery. It starts with Maggie who has a popular YouTube home renovation show moving to Idaho to complete her next renovation. Then we meet Silas the hot landscaper and his dog Kevin. She is a wanderer moving from job to job, Silas is a local with a close knit family. I couldn’t put it down. Can’t wait for others to get to enjoy this book.

Lucy Score does it again. Another great read. It was laugh out loud funny in some places and touched my heart in others. Characters are diverse and well drawn. Highly recommend this title.

This book felt like a warm hug. I enjoyed every single character, and thought they all were written as their own characters and not just placeholders or meant to push the story forward. everyone is likable.

Silas is the smoothest talker ever, and his charm was never too much. (The spice in the book was really well written and Silas is 10/10) And Maggie is my favorite kind of MC. Even when she was unsure of herself, she stayed true to who she was even when pressured to give instant reactions. She was always honest and hardworking, but still cute and funny. I usually like slow burn but Silas instantly declares his love for Maggie in like, the first chapters (lol) and it’s the cutest set up for every scene after that.

I also really enjoyed the broken family element, and how everything plays out at the end. I guess the only reason this wasn’t a full 5 stars from me was because I wanted maybe a bit more tension in the book, so I couldn’t guess what would happen or at least be worried but that’s just my preference. I’ll definitely be looking into more books from this author.

I was thrilled to receive and ARC of Maggie Moves On as Lucy is one of my favorite authors.

This book did not disappoint! Maggie is our strong, determined and hardworking heroine who I found myself relating to on many occasions. Then we have sexy Silas who is head-over-heels for our Maggie, also hardworking and determined to show her that he is perfect for her. His approach to "dating" Maggie is hilarious and we love that he has such a kind heart. Note that this book is written in Dual POV so you get to fall in love with each character even more.

Maggie tends to be an army of one (plus Dean) and has guarded herself by learning to not rely on others. Silas has other plans though and is determined to show Maggie that life is better if she can let others help (and if you let those other people kiss and woo you). I absolutely loved these characters, the backstories and the banter. I don't know how Lucy keeps doing it but her characters take on a life or their own and I find that I want to be friends with them all (and her too)!

And can we talk about the best character in the book? Kevin! Everyone needs a Kevin to bring a laugh to their day.

This book was witty, sexy, funny and a thoroughly enjoyable read. Thank you Lucy for writing another kick ass female lead!

Wow! Lucy Score has done it again. The town of Kinship is just what the name states. Kin (family) + Ship (relationships). From the main characters, Silas and Maggie to all the side characters, the relationships built were strong, funny and so very entertaining! The history of the town, with a little mystery involved and Maggie’s past were twisted into the story in a way that kept me reading nonstop. This is by far my favorite Lucy Score book. It is a standalone although I wish I could have more time to spend in Kinship!

This book has so many feelings. I so wanted to kick Silas for Maggie. I understand her more then I should admit. Silas is so good for her. I need a Silas. For him to show me it's ok to open up. And the family. I'd love to have his family.

This is a wonderful book about interpersonal relationships, family and personal growth. It was refreshing to have a hero like Silas who truly fell in love at first sight and worked to make an emotionally stunted heroine, Maggie, see that they belong together. The characters, and there are many, are interconnected and well developed, and very believable. Plus add in an ongoing mystery beyond what Maggie personally had going on, it was truly an interesting and unexpected storyline. A special thank you to Lucy Score for including the last 4 pages of the book!

Maggie Moves On is another wonderful story by Lucy Score. She encompasses small town life with rich, entertaining characters. I love that Maggie was the pragmatic character while Sy was the romantic. The dynamic between Maggie and Dean was funny and sweet, but also pulled on the heartstrings. I think a lot of people can relate to Maggie, as we often are searching for something without knowing it. Hopefully, we are all as lucky as Maggie, to be surrounded by a strong support system. I recommend this book to anyone who wants a good laugh, a good romance, and a bit of mystery.

Another win for Lucy!
This book has a little of every emotion possible. A dose of humor, a pinch of mystery, and another lovable cast of characters filled the pages and i couldn’t put it down.

I was easily lost in Kinship, and now I want to go visit.
And hug Kevin ;)
