The slogan for the state of Maine is, “The Way Life Should Be” and it accurately described how Lilian felt about the quaint, seaside town of Blink, Maine. She arrived on a sunny morning ready to relax while she contemplated how to deal with problems at her company back in New York City. Lillian felt welcome from the moment she arrived when she stopped for coffee at the local diner. She met the friendly townsfolk who treated her like she had been there forever. The more time she spent getting to know them made her understand that this must be what it was like to have good friends who are always there for you. Everyone helps each other, supports local causes and is there for someone in need.

I love Lillian’s desire to help the town recapture what it once had and prosper once again. Her infectious personality and meticulous organizational skills was just what Blink needed to wake up and plan for the future. I love the impromptu parties on the sidewalk outside Amanda’s store where everyone would laugh and have a good time. Lillian quickly made friends with Amanda as well as Cassdy, another business owner, and she realized that she didn’t have any real girlfriends at home because all she did was work. She enjoyed laughing and talking with them and feeling like she belonged.

Another positive aspect of her mini vacation was meeting Caleb, a handsome but moody owner of a boat building business. He didn’t trust Lillian at first, which confused her, but as he got to know her and she let down her hair, he found that he liked her much more than he should. Caleb knew that getting involved with someone like Lillian was a bad idea because he could never leave Blink and he was certain she would soon leave his small town as quickly as she arrived. Can Lillian help Blink get back on its feet with her creative ideas and with help from a surprising source? What will Caleb do when Lillian’s work in Blink was done? Can he convince her that the salt air and romantic sunsets are just what she needs to be happy?

Cute romance between Lillian and Caleb, two opposites who meet when Lillian takes a break from her life in NYC and goes to Blink, Maine for an escape. While there she’s embraced by the quirky town residents and falls in love with Caleb and life in Blink.

Thanks to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing for the arc.

Accidentally Perfect is a warm, charming novel full of quirky characters and heartfelt relationships.

Lillian Mahoney has devoted her life to creating a thriving business based on a lifestyle guru/cooking expert. There are only a few problems. One is that the guru/expert, Niles Sharpe, is a front man with a pretty face and no clue about any of the content he pushes. The other problem is that Lillian has no life outside of work, which includes enabling Niles’ spoiled frat boy behavior. When he has a meltdown on national television, accusing Lillian of sabotaging him, his fans go wild on social media and Lillian hastily leaves town until the controversy dies down.

Arriving in Blink, Maine (population 204), Lillian soon discovers an entirely different way of life – one of connection and caring between neighbors in the small community. The longer she remains, the more she falls in love with the town, the residents and the slower lifestyle. Oh, and of course, there is a romantic interest in the grumpy, handsome Caleb who challenges her from the start. Lillian finds herself conflicted over her desire to stay in Blink and her need to maintain her business in New York City.

This was a thoroughly enjoyable, light read. The characters are both engaging and relatable. While the outcome was fairly predictable, the relationship dynamic between Lillian and Caleb Wright held my interest and the variety of quirky personalities in the small community kept the story moving forward and provided a humorous touch.

My thanks to the author, the publisher, and NetGalley for the privilege of reviewing this book. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

This review is being posted immediately to my GoodReads account and will be posted on Amazon upon publication.

Lillian Mahoney's company depends on the participation of one man. He is unfortunately a spoiled child and it is Lillian's fault because she invented him. When he has an onscreen meltdown he decides it is her fault and in order to cool things down Lillian takes a vacation to her sister's house in Blink, Maine population 204.

As Lillian gets to know her new neighbors, she also meets her nemesis, Caleb. As their relationship grows, so does her love for small town life. Determined to help the dying town, Lillian makes plans for how Blink can grow again, then she is called back home.

This book is so funny that I actually laughed out loud while reading. The townspeople were great and everyone cared about their neighbors. Very enjoyable quick read.

Lillian Mahoney has created an empire after turning the seeming frat boy she found in a bar into a lifestyle guru but when Niles the “star” has a meltdown on live TV, Lillian needs to make space between her and Niles so that everything, especially social media, can settle down. Lilian’s sister offers her the cottage she’s bought on the Maine coast in the small town of Blink. But can highly driven Lillian relax enough to enjoy everything Blink has to offer including the grumpy good looking town protector, Caleb Wright?

Marissa Clarke has penned such a wonderful read in Accidentally Perfect. The characters are relatable and well-drawn and the story was fun. I very much liked the fact that despite her success Lillian is down-to-earth with an easy manner toward everyone she meets. She’s as comfortable in her power suit and shoes as she is in bulky boots.

Likewise Caleb soon backs down from his suspicion of the newcomer but continues to be a little grumpy until Lillian breaks his shell.

Swoony, sexy, smart, Accidentally Perfect delivers. A perfect upbeat read for the gray days of winter (or any days!).

Lillian is the smart, energetic creator of a powerhouse TV show and all the industry that goes with it. When the spoiled, ignorant face of the brand (Niles) riles up the fans against her, she flees her Manhattan office and hides out at her sister's "vacation cottage" in Blink, Maine. As soon as she arrives, she clashes with gorgeous grump Caleb. With a population of 200, the town is dying, and it's a shame because it's beautiful and has so much potential. With the help of the lovable townspeople, Lillian puts that potential within reach and finds a HEA for herself. I liked this story because Lillian, Caleb, and the supporting cast are enjoyable and believable. The pacing, dramatic tension, and conflict are well-drawn, and it was interesting to see the moving parts inside the industry. A good read.

After a fiasco at work, Lillian arrives in Blink, Maine, to take a much-needed break. Her first impressions of the town and a couple of its residents make her think she made a big mistake in coming here to a property her sister owns but has never visited.

Caleb isn’t impressed by the visitor from New York City. She clearly isn’t dressed for a visit to Blink, Maine, and she refuses a ride from him. Then he believes she’s up to no good and vows to keep an eye on her.
As Lillian gets to know the small town’s residents, she realizes things aren’t as they seemed when she first arrived. She’s falling in love with the small town and is finding herself attracted to Caleb. She can’t figure out why the beautiful town isn’t a major tourist attraction like other towns along the coast. She comes up with some ideas to remedy that situation to the town’s benefit.

Will the residents accept her ideas for the good of the town, or run her off back to New York City? Can Caleb get past his first impression of Lillian and give in to his growing attraction to her? Can Lillian give up her big-city life?

This is a fun read by a new-to-me author. I will be looking for more books by Marissa Clarke. There were a couple of things that happened regarding the town and Lillian’s business and coworkers that are rather unrealistic and hard to believe, but I thoroughly enjoyed the story.

A great read.

Lillian is on an enforced break in rural Maine. She doesn't expect to end up liking it and falling for Caleb, so what will happen when it is time for her to return to New York?

Thank you to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing for an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own.

This book is pretty cute, with a grumpy male lead and an overworked female lead who find each other in a small town on the brink of going extinct. Does it have a lot of tropes and subsequently become slightly predictable at times? Sure, but that makes it a wonderful comfort book when you want something that doesn't create too much high anxiety. There is so much character development in this book, it really makes up for a lot of the tropes that normally bug me. I was really impressed with this book and I would be happy to read anything else Marissa Clarke writes. 4/5

OK so this is one of the best books I have read in a long time! Lite reading, funny, charming & the kind of story you wish you could be in. Lillian Mahoney, the main character is a workaholic in NYC. She owns and runs the company of a popular television show with a handsome, ego-maniac as the star. Lillian needs a break after having a major issue with him. Her sister owns a cottage in a small town in Maine & tells her to go for a week to relax and lie low. In walks Caleb & a town full of amazing, fun loving characters! I couldn't put this book down once I started it. I highly recommend it to everybody that likes cute, fun stories. A great beach read! I am now going to google the author Marissa Clarke for more of her books!

Thanks to Netgalley and Entangled Publishing for the ARC of this book; I enjoyed getting an early read!!

This was a light, easy and fun book. I liked both the main characters quite a bit and the supporting characters were well developed and believable. It would be a perfect beach read or Hallmark movie --- feel good story with a happy ending. It was exactly the book I needed to read today.

Fun, beach read. Although you know how this book is going to turn out it is still a great read. Very light hearted, easy read with characters that are well developed. This is the book you should turn to when you want a warm, good feeling story.

What do you get when you cross an uber organized executive with a cranky craftsman? Accidentally Perfect, set in Blink, Maine, is what you get. I love how Lillian blows into town and is a force unto herself. I liked curmudgeon Roger and how he was willing to change, after much grumbling. I liked how Caleb was willing to move for love. What I was uncertain is all the buildup in Blink. Small towns are charming, but when it become the epicenter of something, part of that charm is stripped. It’s a feel good read, I felt good while reading it and so will you.

A lovely sweet small town story. Boy meets girl from NYC, she falls in love with the small town of Blink, Maine. Tight knit community full of desire to make old town feel new again.

If Hallmark needs a new movie source, this is it right here!

I have never been to a small town, but now I want to book a vacation to one. Blink, Maine may not exist on a real map, but I sure wish it did! I hope Marissa Clarke returns us to Hideaway Harbor soon - I feel lots of potential here with Erin, Cassidy, Niles (who knew I would grow to like him?!).

The only aspect that I wish was given more time was Bethany and Lillian's relationship. I'm a sucker for that growing bond with a surrogate mother, and I feel like that was lacking in this one. Caleb and Bethany didn't come across as much of as a "package deal" as I was hoping, but still loved Bethy's moments when we got to see them.

If you are looking for a feel-good trip through the pages then this is a wonderful book to pick up!

I'm a sucker for a good romance, and even more of a sucker when it's set during the summer and in New England. Accidentally Perfect follows workaholic Lillian Mahoney as she heads to a remote seaside town, Blink, ME after the face of her the brand she created (Living Sharpe) throws a hissy fit on live TV and blames her for everything. She heads to a small cottage her sister Erin purchased to escape.

It doesn't take long for her to fall in love with the town of Blink and the people. I loved that this story not only focused on a romantic relationship but also a relationship with the town. The title of the book describes many aspects of this sweet read. Once again, Entangled Publishing hits it out of the park.

If you're looking for an adorable escape read, check out Accidentally Perfect.
