I was given a NetGalley widget for this one a year ago and I just got around to reading it and dangit it was so good. I am so thankful for the opportunity to have consumed this wildly relevant fictional tale, which felt not at all fictional, more like historical fiction, due to the times. The cover initially was what drew me in, but I'm so thankful to have stuck with it because the outcome was magical.

This is one of the best books I have read over the last few years. I really warmed to Frank, although a part of the mafia , he seems different to your typical gangster . The story was a little slow to get going, however It was a slog to get through the slow parts. Anyway once the story picked up, I found myself checking how much was left as I did not want it to end. Something which I don't ever remember doing before. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone.

Unexpected sleeper hit with mafia ties-
To be honest while I enjoy a good mob movie, I have actually never read a book concerning the Nadia. This book took me by surprise. It moves slowly at first, but really picks up the pace and once that began, I couldn't put the book down. It took less than two days to finish reading.
Many people are fascinated with the mob albeit it's a dangerous, corrupt, grisly, and a very illegal enterprise. This book does a great job of showcasing both the criminal and human side of a very powerful crime family through the story and background of its main character Frank. The themes of loyalty and family shape this character and show how far one man will go to preserve these beliefs. Gripping read, I definitely recommend it. Yes it does start off slow, but do not give up, I promise it's worth it.
