I enjoy this series. A cozy mystery, except the animals are the main characters. Each and every animal reminds one of people they know, for better or worse.

Shady Hollow is starting to heal, following a murder. Now, suddenly, another suspicious death has occurred. This time, buried bones are found in the apple orchard at the height of apple picking season. Vera Vixen is on it. Her reporter instincts and her detective instincts are hard at work. Joe Moose, who runs the coffee shop and keeps everyone caffeinated and fed, is very closely involved with this murder since the bones appear to belong to his wife who went missing some ten years earlier. Vera's boss, BW, wants her to forget about dealing with the murder and focus on the new business opening on their main street. It is an etiquette shop, teaching people how to take tea, to learn ballroom dancing and practice their manners. There is something ever so slightly off about the owner, and Vera Vixen is determined to ferret out the details.

This was a whimsical, fanciful story, and would be fun for people of all ages.

This ARC was provided to me via Kindle by Knopf Doubleday Publishing Group and #NetGalley for my honest opinion. Opinions expressed are completely my own.

The second installment in a delightful cozy mystery series. If you enjoyed the first one, this one won’t disappoint.
