Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the advanced copy of this book. I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Vacations Like This is a perfectly sweet rom-com and I really enjoyed it! I inhaled it in just a few hours and smiled the whole time.
It’s a cute close proximity, snowy cabin, accidental roommates clean romance. Kimber is researching a resort going in to a small Colorado town, and Mack is the lead surveyor on the job. By chance, they are from the same small town and both promised the same cabin to stay in by family who owns it. Both Mack and Kimber had strong, likeable personalities and there were great side characters, too.
While this is part of a series, it works fine as a standalone and I had no trouble following along.
Kimber and Mack had excellent banter that made me smile, and they really earned their romance.
My only issue - one character hurt their tailbone enough to require a doctor visit and basically seemed fine the next day. I’ve had that injury before and it’s rough. I definitely wasn’t out taking snowy walks a few days later.
Overall, I really liked this one and look forward to reading more from the author in the future.

Genre: Contemporary Romance
Series: A Love Like This #4
Star Rating: ☆☆☆.5
Tropes: Forced Proximity, Roommates to Lovers, + dual POV

Vacations Like This is a fun quick romance for anyone looking for a short getaway from real life. This delightful, forced proximity/roommates to lovers story will leave you falling in love with the characters and the story

Kimber rents a cabin out in Colorado to use as her home base as she researches and reports back to her local Louisiana newspaper on a new resort looking to break ground in this small town. On day three an “intruder” enters the cabin and Kimber + the intruder are both shell shocked at the sight of the other.

Turns out he is not an invader at all but thanks to a booking error they both have the same cabin reserved for the next few weeks. Mack is a land surveyor on a work vacation employed by the enemy…the incoming resort!

Their immediate attraction and behaviors with each other are so sweet and definitely lend themselves to a worthwhile read.

The book has a strong start. Its first chapter has captivated me that has kept me entertained until 30 percent of the book. It’s totally hilarious and a fun quick read. Like any other rom-com, the two main characters have their fair share of fights and sweet moments. There are light humors in the storyline wherein all characters of the book has achieved to catch my attention as the reader. Kimber and Mack both have my heart. They’re charming and cute couple for me.

I would recommend this to anyone who’s up to read a good and light-hearted romance-comedy genre.

Such a cute book!

This was a quick read rom-com and an overall good book.
This book was force proximity and opposites attract.
Both characters had such strong personalities, it made the story even more interesting to read. Though there were points in the book where I doubted that they work out, I was wrong. Mack was such a swoon-worthy character who I think is perfect for Kimber. In all, I recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a good rom-com! It was flirty and so cute.

Kimber is on a nice relaxing winter (working) vacation in a snowy Colorado cabin when suddenly shes not so alone. It seems this stranger she finds in her kitchen is Mack... whose also booked to stay in this cabin. Oops! They agree to share the vast cabin and though they're both in town working with opposing views on a new resort coming to town... their attraction and ensuing prank war begins.

Overall I liked this story. I think I just wanted a bit more passion and a bit more angst.

Read if you like:

Forced proximity
Roommates to lovers
Snowy Cabin vibes
Opposing viewpoints/work
Prank wars
Dual POV
Fiesty and funny leading lady
Adorable and calm male lead

⭐⭐⭐💫 (I liked it)

Oh my word!!! This book was the best!! I loved Kimber and Mack from their meet cute on. I loved the banter and the sweet moments. I loved the humor and inner dialogue and all the embarrassing moments I could so picture doing myself. There were to many favorite parts to mention. Oh and Mack, swoony…I think I have a new book boyfriend. He is the hottest, sweetest, man. He loves his family and is so protective. I love how he bantered with Kimber and loved to get her riled up. And can I say the ending was the very best. I loved the exact way it played out and how much more true to life the ending was compared to some romcoms I have read. A must read….I mean seriously go order this one, you will not be sorry!!

This was cute and fun and light and easy. But there were times when she was too much. She would swing so far to the extreme that it was right on the edge of annoying. But he brought all the balance. He could see through her stuff and balance out her extremes. It was exactly what the story needed and just endeared him to me even more. It was a cute a funny read about two people double booked in a rental cabin and a great book for Christmas break.

Vacations Like This is the cutest thing I've read so far this month. They made me laugh like a fool. It was a quick read, but it was worthwhile. You'll be smitten with forced proximity and roommates to lovers after reading this amusing rom-com. The little moments in this book are what make it so memorable.

While on leave from work, Kimber rents out a cabin in Colorado. She's a journalist/reporter who's been sent to investigate the new resort that's coming to town, as well as finding out what the locals say and writing about it. She had been alone in the cabin for three days before the intruder entered and nearly ate her nacho cheese in the fridge.

It turns out he wasn't an invader but rather a booking error and, Mack will now be staying with her. Mack, on the other hand, is on his own working vacation. Even though Kimber has told him why she is here, Mack has remained silent about what he is doing. Especially now that he knows she's displeased with the resort's arrival *hint hint*.

It's all in good fun until she discovers what he's really up to. And she makes every effort to be enraged by him. However, seeing her try to appear upset while keeping her smile hidden is arguably the sweetest thing ever. As the story progresses, their attraction grows stronger. They have my heart. I wish we got more.

Tropes;
Forced Proximity
Roommates to Lovers
Dual POV

Kimber is a small town journalist/reporter and is in a new town to investigate a new resort that is being built. Because of this, she rents out a local cabin while she is on her working holiday.

However there has been a mixup with the booking and so walks in to her cabin one day to see Mack going through her fridge. It turns out he is also on a working holiday and rented out the same cabin.

As there are no other cabins available, they agree to be roommates for the next 3 weeks that they are working.

This book had such a strong start, Kimber made me laugh so much and I just loved the banter between her and Mack. They had great chemistry from when they first met.

But about 50% of the way in, it kind of fizzled out for me. It got a little boring and to be honest, there wasn’t anything that made me want to keep reading. I had hoped that it would get better as the book went on but it left me wanting more.

This book would have been a two star rating for me if it hadn’t been for the first 4-5 chapters, of which I really enjoyed.

One thing I don’t understand is that the synopsis describes this is an enemies to lovers… lol where🥴?? There was definitely no enemies to lovers in this book, that I’m sure of.

Anyway it was enjoyable while it lasted but definitely wouldn’t read again.

Thank you NetGalley for providing the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Vacations Like This is my first book by Carina Taylor and I can safely say it won’t be my last! When Kimber is sent out on an assignment to investigate the new building in small town, Colorado she stays in the house of a friend of a friend. The only problem? The house is double booked. Mack is also supposed to stay in the vacation rental for a work project. When these two are stuck together and snowed into their forced space you can be sure that hilarity will ensue. Full of prank wars, laughs, and lots of slipping and sliding, this book is perfect to read curled up under a blanket with a cup of hot cocoa. This slow-burn forced proximity romance is closed door and oh-so-sweet! I can’t wait to read more of Taylor’s backlist!

Vacations Like This by Carina Taylor
A perfect pick-me-up book, Vacations Like This is the final in the Like This series and also leads into an upcoming series! The Boone family is hilarious and I loved this story. Mack is one of the Boone cousins, and I was so excited to read his story! Kimber is taking a much needed contract job investigating a resort in a small town, after a teeny (not really) mistake in her reporter job. Finding that she is in a double-booked cabin was not part of the plan, especially when the other resident is Mack Boone. He is kind and protective, but once she realizes the reason he is there, Kimber puts a hard barrier between them. As time passes, Kimber begins to realize that she may have reacted too quickly, and messed up her chance at love.
This was so cute! It was a quick read that I think I finished in like a day! Kimber is such a funny narrator. I loved reading her thoughts. She was nosy, tried her best, and was so sweet. She had made a mistake and was scrambling in the aftermath. With Mack, it was so fun to read. Mack was a returning character from the earlier books in the series. The Boone family is so fun and reminds me of my family sometimes (although we are much smaller)! He wasn’t as exuberant as some of the cousins, but was honestly just as weird and crazy. It was fun to read about him in a different context too. He was such a sweetheart to Kimber and they were super cute together! I definitely related to his character growth too!
Overall, I would so recommend this book! It was fun and lighthearted. It is part of a series, but it could be read stand-alone. I definitely recommend reading it in order though! It is just more fun to know all the characters and know some context. This is a closed-door romance that I would recommend to teens and up! It is not super steamy but has some innuendoes.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the publisher through Netgalley. All views expressed are only my honest opinion, a positive review was not required.

Carina Taylor is one of my auto-buy authors and I just love her books. I’ve been dying to read her next book and I’m so glad I got the chance to read it early.

This book was hilarious. I laughed a lot and it was just the perfect vacation read. It was lighthearted fun, but it had some great character growth.

Mack learned what healthy boundaries look like and Kimber learned about about integrity and honesty. My major revolves around journalism so I loved seeing that profession in a book through Kimber’s job!

There was one time where I really wanted to give Kimber a stern talking to, but I just loved reading this book 🥰 and I highly recommend any of Carina Taylor’s books.

Kimber and Mack are a hilarious combination. She has an active imagination, and he is calm and steady with a great sense of humor. The two of them are immediately drawn together, and they can't resist teasing each other. I laughed through the whole thing.

Vacations Like This
➖rating: 3.5/5 ⭐️’s
➖release date: January 4th

This was a quick, funny, genuinely feel-good read! I didn’t realize that it was a part of a series when I requested it, but even so, I never felt like I was missing anything while reading. I really enjoyed the banter and pranks between Mack & Kimber and I LOVED the cozy/snowy/cabin setting! I did find Kimber to be immature quite often and although Kimber & Mack were so sugary sweet and funny, I didn’t fully feel the chemistry between them.

This one didn’t 100% work for me, but I did still really enjoy the writing and will absolutely be picking up the other books in this series!

Thank you so much to @netgalley for providing me with an arc in exchange for an honest review!

A fun rom com with plenty of forced proximity, goofiness, flirting, and snow! Mack and Kimber had great chemistry and a fun dynamic. Kimber annoyed me a little bit in the middle but she came around for me near the end. I enjoyed the wintery cabin vacation vibes and their many sweet and hilarious moments throughout the book!

This book is so cute! I didn’t know it was part of a series but now I want to go through and read the other books in it! The chemistry was great and I’m very happy to have read this one!

What happens when two people with opposite goals have to share a cabin?
Kimber has been sent from to a small town in the Colorado mountains to get the scoop on a resort being built there, kind of a working vacation. Lara Raglund, the person hiring her was concerned that the resort might damage or even destroy the quaint little town where she owned a cabin. Mack has been sent to the same small town to run the survey crew laying out the roads to the resort. Not very problematic except they both have the same hometown where Lara Raglund had given Kimber gave her permission to use the family cabin and Lara’s son Hagan had given Mack permission to use the cabin on the same dates so he could have a working vacation. With no other rentals available in town Kimber and Mack decide to share the large cabin for the next few weeks. Now Kimber is trying to dig up all the dirt on the resort and its owner, while Mack tries to avoid letting Kimber know why he is there. What happens when the truth comes out? And what will happen when the person always rescuing and caring for others needs some rescuing? A fun light read that will keep you smiling. Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for the copy. This is my review and all thoughts are my own.

Talk about a catching opening scene! I was hooked from the first few chapters! And… this girl has priorities when someone intrudes… and it’s not avoiding being killed…
For real tho.. best first chapter ever.
Kimber has quite the imagination like myself. She comes up with the craziest scenarios that are so off the wall and most end up being something simple and not a big deal. She’s animated and opinionated. Mack is a fun guy and it’s obvious how he thinks highly of Kimber from the start. Their banter and adventures had me laughing.
Intruders, horror movies, suspicious neighbors, record breaking exits, and more adventures!
I’m a #1 fan of close proximity! Whoot whoot!
The only part I wasn’t a fan of was that the thing that rises up between them is pretty petty and kinda blown up by her more than it should. She was pretty immature about the whole thing.

Quick, lighthearted, and cute read with a dual point of view.
Would have enjoyed a bit more build up and chemistry between the two main characters.

Reader’s Notes:

– this book is book 4 in a series, but you do not need to read the other books to understand this one

– there is one use of “dumbass”

– (past event) a character lost their sibling due to a car crash

– we hear from both Kimber and Mack’s points of view

Review:

This is such a funny book! I loved book one (Neighbors Like This) and this was just as funny as that one! There’s even a few pranks pulled between our main characters when they aren’t so happy with one another (well, Kimber isn’t so happy. Mack is amused by her retaliations and likes riling her up 😂). The other funny aspects are due to overactive imaginations, poking fun at one another, and a bunch of other things 😂. It’s soooo good!

Kimber and Mack both know someone who owns a cabin in a small town near where they need to be for a current job and are given permission to stay in said cabin. Unfortunately, these people didn’t communicate properly about letting someone stay in the cabin and are told they can both stay in the exact same cabin. It makes for a scary and awkward morning when Kimber wakes up to a guy going through her fridge.

With nowhere else to go, and knowing each other’s family members, they decide to share the cabin. But when the reasons they are staying there come to light, lines are drawn and a battle commences. Who will be victorious? And who is tempted to step past their lines in the name of love?

Which is more important? Love or war?
