A fascinating take on a fascinating subject. I personally enjoyed the approach the author took with this book and would be interested, too, in reading more of her work in the future. I think, all in all, a very good read.

Fascinating insights into the possible family history of a very interesting figure. Clearly there has been a lot of emotional investment in this book by the author and this has translated into careful and thorough research and analysis.

Historical fiction merges with known fact in this well researched book by Ora Smith.
Howard Hughes, engineer, innovator, pilot and recluse led a life of fame, fortune and secrecy. For years, his birthplace, birthdate and final years have been filled with speculation and endless theories. Ora Smith delves deep into her family roots to discover if her great grandmother was the birth mother of Howard Hughes. Family stories and well researched historical documents put together the pieces of this puzzle and provide a captivating and interesting read.
Thanks to NetGalley, Ora Smith and Lighten Press for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This was a mesmerizing read. I have always been fascinated by all the bizarre stories about Howard Hughes. After all of this authors research it would be hard not to believe that Emma wasn't his biological mother.. I usually don't read this type of book but this one is written in a way that makes it easy. I also enjoyed the history of how the oil industry got started and also a lot of Texas history as well. Even if this is not your typical genre I think most people would like this interesting book.
