I love time travel books and especially enjoy historical time travel as I'm a history buff. Maeve Greyson is a marvel at this. I enjoyed this story as much as the last.
Thank you Maeve Greyson, Dragonblade Publishing and NetGalley for allowing me an advance copy for my honest feedback.

The time travel continues in the second installment of Maeve Greyson’s newest series and I have to say I liked this one even more, probably because I found myself relating to the attitude and circumstances of this heroine so much. For fans of Outlander and the premise of time displaced characters, this series is one that you can really sink your teeth into and enjoy for all the laughter, tears, and sweetness as the characters find love, drama, and danger in their journey to an HEA together. Dr. Evie Wortham is on her last chance to save her job due to her attitude and her boss and longtime friend sends her on a mandatory vacation to the Scottish highlands. She has only been there less than a few hours, having crossed a terrifying waterfall and feeling a little lost, when she finds a half-naked and injured man floating down the river that she is determined to save despite her surroundings and limited supplies. Chieftain Quinn MacTaggart opens his eyes after being attacked and barely surviving to find himself faced with a bossy and strangely dressed lass who demands his compliance and spouts all kinds of strange words as she cares for his injuries. Both Evie and Quinn believe they are in the right on their situation, but neither truly understands that Evie has been thrown back in time over 800 years until they can no longer deny the truth. Evie comes to understand she has no chance of getting how and no choice but to move forward in her new life and making a life with the sexy highlander can’t be all bad, but soon she finds herself in deep with him. The problem is that even as Quinn and Evie fall in love and being to make a life, there is a dangerous killer out to end Quinn’s leadership of the clan and if might coast them both their lives if they can’t uncover the assassin once and for all. I really loved and connected with Evie in a lot of ways, having been in her shoes more than once with my own work situation and knowing how it feels to just be over other people’s inability to live up to my expectations. I loved seeing her unwind a little bit, even if it was forced on her, but when she was faced with this new world she really shined, her knowledge and skills as well as bravery and defense of those in need made her loved by many in Quinn’s clan right away. She was sweet and sassy, but her true strength was in the way she gave of herself again and again, even when those she helped didn’t deserve it. She stands up for herself, even to the point it almost costs her life, but her independence an unwillingness to bend her morals reminded me a lot off myself. I liked getting to know Quinn, even if there were a few times he was seriously an ass and I wished I could slap him myself. He is obviously smart, brave, and protective of those he takes under his wing, but he allows his fears and shortsightedness to almost cost him the best thing to ever come into his life. Once he takes his head out of his ass and admits to his feelings I liked him a lot more and he became the perfect mate for Evie and the best leader for his people, just in time truly. I loved the playfulness and passion these two inspired in one another as they spent time together and got to know one another. I am dying to know what type of lady will find herself time displaced next in this series and what kind of adventure she will find as she falls in love in Maeve’s fun Time to Love a Highlander series.

Maeve Greyson takes us back to 13th century Scotland once again. She is one of the queens of this genre. This is book 2 in her Time to Love a Highlander series. Although the premise is the same in both books, modern woman time travels to medieval Scotland and meets a hunky Highlander. However, unlike most series the books are two completely different stories with no intermingling of characters. Although I enjoyed reading the first book, I believe this book is the better of the two. Evie's reaction to finding herself in another time is more like how I think I would react, in shock, and scared. She rescues Quinn and he rescues her, physically as well as emotionally. As always. the author's characters are likeable, and for the most part decent people. I thoroughly enjoyed Dugan as comic relief. What a great character! This is a very nice story, certainly worth the time to read.

This book started out really engaging me, held my interest, and was headed in the right direction until Evie goes to Quinn's keep, then it kinda got a bit jumbled by moving so fast, but ended up good.
To start, I loved that Evie was such a strong personality and a doctor, her persona fit that perfectly. So why did it change so much? I gather that she had to fit in but she seemed to agree and fall for him way too quickly. I didn't like that it took her so long to actually confess where she was from. And I couldn't get past the thought that she would want to return to the 21st century and her job, so other than a passing fling, I didnt totally believe that she would be happy staying in the 13th century.
Quinn started off all warrior and surly Highlander, suspicious of her and her ways but then he seemed to accept her and her ways super fast, within a day of meeting her, he proposes. Sure it's with the premise of keeping her safe but he seemed to change into a doting sweetheart within a few paragraphs.

I will say as far as time travel romances go, this one was very well done. The little quirks of power bars, tea, and a lighter, him not understanding half of what she says was all very believable and something I think more time travel novels need to pay attention to. I did like the chemistry between Quinn and Evie, it too was well done, and aside from little questions here and there, believable. I think it just needed more of a timeline adjustment and perhaps a bit longer of a story to sort things out.

This was a fast read that kept me interested and wanting to read more. I do recommend it.
Sweet romance, kissing scenes, a little quick steam

Scottish, Time Travel Romance

Evie climbs behind a waterfall to rescue a cat and gets hurled back in time more than seven-hundred years. How does a modern woman survive in the past?

Evie is a delight. Some might say she is struggling with anger management. Others might say she has no filters. No matter what you say about Evie, she is a strong woman that can survive any century. She rescues a laird from certain death, but can she survive the treachery that awaits. Someone tried to kill the laird, and they are sure to try again. Just who is it that that wants Quinn dead, and why? Evie appears out of nowhere. Will her story be believed by the superstitious lot of thirteenth century Scotland? Can she survive without being burned at the stake as a witch? What happens when she tells Quin the truth? Evie and Quinn fall in love, but they face challenges they must overcome. Romance, Treachery, and intrigue await. I enjoyed this delightful story and would recommend it to those who like time travel romance.

This is the second book in the series but they are stand alone reads.

I really enjoyed the feistiness of Evie throughout the book, and how I could relate to her with the panic attacks. It made the story more real, because who wouldn't have some freak outs about time traveling. How she was strong throughout the book and used her medical knowledge while really caring for the highlanders was wonderful. Quinn was a great hero, and at time almost a cinnamon roll which made me love him more. He knew when to be strong and when to just let her do her thing. The love while fast still works from his POV. I am looking forward to more of the series.

When Evie enters a waterfall to save a cat she finds herself in 13th century Scotland and instead of finding the cat she discovers a man laying face down in a pool of water.
When chieftain Quinn MacTaggart regains consciousness and realises he was saved from drowning by a strangely dressed woman who has been banished from her home he offers her his protection.

Another great time travel romance written by Maeve Greyson. I absolutely adored the characters in this book. With Quinn being my favourite. He was funny, charming and protective. I loved his thoughts on Evie as he tried to figure her out.

Evie was your typical doctor of the 21st century. Independent, strong willed and not much tolerance for human emotions.

The only thing I was not keen on was how long it took Evie to reveal who she was and where she come from. But other than that this was a great quick read.

I have to admit, I'm not much of a time travel fan, so I haven't read a lot if books in this genre. But the few that I have read, I have enjoyed very much and I can add this one to that list as well. This is my first time reading this author, so I haven't read the first book, but I had no trouble reading this as a standalone. Evie and Quinn were brilliant together and the chemistry was pretty amazing. Evie was such a strong, independent character, I really liked her. The storyline was well-written and flowed smoothly and the plot twists kept really kept me engaged and interested. The characters were well-developed and the banter between them was fun to read. Overall I found this to be an entertaining read and I would love to read the next book in the series.

I always love books with hot Scottish lairds and throw in a modern day woman who fell back into time and you have my attention!

Evie fell from 2019 into Quinn's time in the 1200's where Quinn is the chieftain and just was attacked and left for dead. Good thing that Evie is a doctor and can treat him and there the story begins.!

Lots of drama, action, and romance keep you entertained to the end so that I could not put this book down! I had to keep reading to the end and figure out who was trying to kill Quinn.

Great HEA, and loved the epilogue where we got a glimpse into their life a couple years later.

Dr. Evie Wortham has been told to take 30 days off. Little does she know it’s going to be an adventure of a lifetime and a new life in a different century? She puts her skills as a doctor to good use, but she has an instant attraction to Chieftain Quinn MacTaggart in the Scottish Highlands. This is a fun read as Quinn and Evie interact, Quinn tries to figure Evie out and she tries to find her place in the highlands. A captivating romance of time travel with a delightful tale. I have voluntarily read and reviewed the great book.

I just couldn't put this book down. Entertaining and well-written story.

I admit I haven't read the first book in the series but now I want to because I liked this book so much.

I do highly recommend it.

A 21st century doctor travels back to 1300's Scotland just in time to treat and save a highland chieftain.

Sound like a fairytale? Every 21st woman's dream? Well yes, yes it does (I am raising my hand!). Just give me instructions and a few extra pairs of contacts!

Highland Chieftain Quinn cannot believe the lovely lass, and at first that she is with the enemy. Fortunately he soons believes she is a healer. Plus she needs his protection and the only choice is to marry.

A fast paced story with a villian, a strong highland and equally strong heroine, that keeps your attention until the end!!

After being sent on forced vacation by her hospital, Evie finds herself tumbled back in time to thirteenth century Scotland.

The premise of this story is great. I liked the characters and the fact that not only was Evie a doctor, but that she was able to use her knowledge and skills in the past to help people. I also liked the chemistry between Quinn and Evie, as they work together well as a couple.

However, I thought the pacing of the story was odd, as it takes place over just a few days yet the characters fell in love. I also was unconvinced that Quinn's best plan of action to protect Evie would be to marry her - it struck me as something to just move the plot along. Finally, the character of Evie felt underutilized, especially considering her fits of rage and the adventures of her past.

Overall, a decent read, but I couldn't suspend my disbelief adequately.

Another great story by Maeve Greyson. I truly enjoyed the natural flow of this book. From the start of Evie’s journey to the past you can see the inevitable of her & Quinn’s love. The mystery of the attempts on the Chieftain's life was really well written. I admit I guessed wrong numerous times. There were moments where I leaned in the right direction but then doubted. Making the end reveal well built up. A great love story through time!

Taming Her Highland Legend by Maeve Greyson is the best of both worlds: a Highlander story and a time travel story, all in one book. Evie is a surgeon in a major hospital in London who has unloaded on someone once too often. She is talented, but maladjusted and crabby. It is her friend, Maggie, who delivers the bad news: take a month off and regroup or you are fired. Maggie has the solution: her small home in the Highlands would be perfect for a month of reflection. Evie is not happy but resolves to make the best of it. On the drive, she decides to stop off and see some falls and have a good hike to release some tension. She sends Maggie a couple of photos to prove she is making an effort. On her second attempt to rescue a cat in distress, she balances on a ledge to shimmy behind a waterfall. When she shimmies back out, things seem different. The, she sports a man floating in the pond. She manages to drag him out, but things seem to go downhill from there. Oh, and things are different, very different.

What would you do if you woke up and were 700 years in the past? Impossible to even imagine. Evie found herself in a situation where her past personality could no longer exist. None of it worked. The man she had rescued was Quinn McTaggart, Chieftain Quinn McTaggart. Someone had tried to kill him. He was a big man, a brutal man, but also a kind one. Especially toward Evie. She was floundering so she didn't have time to fall in love, but he wasn't and he did . . . fall in love. He had immense understanding for Evie, certainly a trait not common in 1296. He respected her talents and her skills. This was a beautifully written story. Greyson wrote great characters and fit them into a plot that made sense, unforced. The opportunities for deception were many but Evie quickly learned that that did not work. Nor did her temper. She was an excellent character. One who had to adjust.

I was invited to read a free e-ARC of Taming Her Highland Legend by Dragonblade, through Netgalley. All thoughts and opinions are mine. #netgalley #dragonblade #maevegreyson #tamingherhighlandlegend

Dr. Evie Wortham is a workaholic surgeon. After instuling one too many superior doctors she has been ordered to take a holiday or the sack. A friend "heavily" suggested the Highlands of Scotland as a complete break. Little did she realize just how far outside her comfort zone her journey would take her. How will our twenty-first century heroine deal with a thirteenth century hero??

Chieftain Quinn MacTaggart wakes up to find himself with a splitting headache. A strangely dressed English woman seems to have saved his life. Our hero has more than the English to worry about. Someone much nearer to home is trying to kill him.

This is an exciting and humorous timeslip/historical romance. The characters are fabulous and the ending surprising.

It is part of a series but each book is a stand alone read.

Good fun.

A MATTER OF TIME
Evie's need for control makes her a good surgeon in a 21st century London hospital, but not very good working with other doctors. Relieved from work for a month, she heads to a co-worker's cottage in Scotland. A hike turns into more than she was prepared for. Going through a waterfall to save a cat lands her in the 13th century. The man she saves from drowning with a gash on his head is Chieftain Quinn MacTaggart. Someone is trying to kill him. After Evie saves him, Quinn has to save Evie. He proposes marriage. After a short period of adjustment, these two are passionate for each other. Telling Quinn the truth of her time-travel may be what breaks them apart. When an assassin continues to try to kill Quinn, Evie makes it her mission to find out who it is. This book went by pretty fast, especially when you have two people honest with other and only a few bumps in the road.

A lighthearted and entertaining time-traveling romance involving a 21st-century doctor and a Scottish Chieftain from the 13th century.

This is the second book I’ve read from this author and I enjoyed it more than the first one. It is part of the Time to Love a Highlander series but you do not need to read the first one at all, they are stand-alone stories.

The book covers in this series are gorgeous and it is what made me pick up the book right away. In this installment, the characters’ backgrounds are more developed and the romance unfolds at a slower pace, which I prefer.

Overall, I recommend it to those who enjoy a quick, time-traveling romance.
