Dr. Evie Wortham is on her last warning & her hospital’s ultimatum of thirty days leave in the calming wilderness of the Scottish Highlands is her only chance of avoiding dismissal. So, she heads to her friend’s cottage on the outskirts of Inverness for a month of hiking, biking, and becoming one with nature. But a climb behind a waterfall to rescue a kitten with an odd fondness for water permanently strikes the word boredom from her vocabulary. Instead of finding the cat when she emerges on the other side, she discovers a man with a bloody gash in his head floating face down in the pool below. When Chieftain Quinn MacTaggart opens his eyes to the lovely, but strangely dressed Englishwoman, he’s certain the enemy has captured him. But when the sharp-tongued lass turns out to be an extraordinary healer and confesses England has banished her, honour demands he offers her the protection of his clan. Finding herself trapped in 13th century Scotland, Evie has no choice but to accept Quinn’s offer of protection.
This second book in the series is very easily read on its own. I found it to be a well written engrossing read. Twenty first century opinionated surgeon meets thirteenth century clan chief, they are bound to lock horns & they do, the banter is witty the attraction sizzles & the differences between times are thought provoking. I loved Evie the no nonsense focused surgeon who struggles when she realises what has happened, which makes her human. I also loved Quinn who also struggles to believe Evie is from a different time. There are also attempts on Quinn’s life. I thoroughly enjoyed the book but again would have liked to have known what happened in present day Scotland when Evie’s abandoned hire car was found
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read

Taming Her Highland Legend is second to the time travel series by Maeve Greyson; definitely another hit! Evie took a bit to realize and understand she had gone back to 1296 finding an almost dead, but handsome Highland Chief. Her medical skills were put to good use saving Quinn’s life, as well as, others in the clan.

The relationship development is adorable, with Evie knowing ‘life’ was different in that time period. The offer of marriage seemed quick, but matured as love grew. The trust that grew as Quinn and Evie got to know each other was endearing. His respect for her, his sister and others in the clan went a long toward making him a true clan chief. And, Evie’s respect toward her serving girls and those in the clan showed her to have the heart a true clan leader’s wife.

I loved this as a romance, a time travel story and just plain light-hearted fun. Even the ‘villain’ who was trying to kill Quinn was given a ‘place’ in the end.

I discovered Maeve Greyson in an anthology put out by Dragonblade Publishing and really liked what I read in those so I was excited to read one of her full length novels - and this did not disappoint! I actually found that I wanted this to be longer. Partly because I wanted to learn more about these characters and partly because I did not want to say goodbye to them. I only wish we had gotten a chapter (even a very short one) about what was going on in present day when Evie's friend realizes she has disappeared.

I really liked Evie and Quinn - individually and as a couple. They really did complement one another and he made her feel safe so she could let go of some of her anger. And Evie showed Quinn that he was capable of being loved for himself. The mystery surrounding who is trying to kill him took a turn I did not necessarily see coming.

Overall, a really great novel, especially if you have a soft spot for Highlanders and time travel!

Dr. Evie Wortham is obstinate, driven, and shows little respect for those in authority. Unfortunately, she is not invincible and when her employers demand that she takes time off, she is resentful and frustrated by the enforced vacation. Falling into 13th century Scotland with no way of being able to return, Evie discovers that her skills are just as necessary in the past as in the present day. With a brawny Chieftain who does not like taking orders, Evie finds her hands full with Quinn MacTaggart, little realizing that she needs him as much as he needs her. It is not surprising that Quinn is so suspicious of Evie, especially considering the times, but as the truth about Evie emerges, he has difficulty in accepting the truth. I love the main characters in this novel and despite Quinn's harshness at times, he is just what Evie needs in a husband, and the fact that he can bend enough to take her advice, says a lot about him. The story is well-written and entertaining and comes to a successful conclusion. I received a copy of this book as a gift through Dragonblade Publishing and NetGalley and this is my honest and voluntary review.

Maeve Greyson has written another fun time traveling, highlander, medieval romance. I enjoyed the characters in this book MUCH more than the first book of this series.

Quinn was hilarious with his inner rambling as he tried to figure Evie out... is she a witch, a fae, a seductress, an English spy, or an easy wench? What is she wearing? What are her "bars of power" and why does she want me to "swallow little rocks" and the best question that Quinn has is "how do I make her mine forever?"

Evie..what to say about Evie. She is your typical 21st century, female physician, who has fought for everything good in her life, is very good at being a physician, and oh, yeah ...she just found herself back in medieval times. Nothing to worry about, right?

The chemistry between Quinn & Evie is palpable from the start. I knew they would be explosive when they came together. 🔥🔥❤❤

Of course there is a little bit of drama and mystery...a villain who needs rooted out and dealt with for good.

Alls well at the end - our characters get their HEA!!

What didn't I like about the story?

Well, its a time travel so I get that it's based on complete fantasy. I just had a little bit of a hard time with Evie and her ability to perform major surgery on a personal without any anesthesia but whiskey, without any antibiotics, without any pain medication. It made the medical part of me sit up and cry foul.

Overall I did enjoy the story. I can't wait for the next book in the series.

4 Stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐| 4 Flames 🔥🔥🔥🔥

P.S. What I REALLY wish Maeve Greyson would write would be a time travel story with the MAN coming from medieval Scotland and landing in Scotland of the 21st Century. I would love to see how he deals with all the changes....just a small hint to this great author!!

Time travel, romance, the Highlands, and a mysterious enemy made this book hard to put down!

One of the things I liked the most about this book was the strength of Evie's character from a sense of giving strong opinions and not being afraid to say what was on her mind. So you take an outspoken smart doctor by current times and put them in the 13th Century, oh my did that keep it interesting. I loved that Quinn liked Evie's outspoken nature which was definitely not normal of the time period.

There were a few things that were a little bit typical of time travel type stories. The sharing of items like a cell phone and a lighter weren't overly unique to explain things, but at least the trying to compare things to what one would understand in the time period gave me a chuckle throughout the book.

I have read the first two books in the series now and am excited for the third!

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for providing me a copy of this ARC for my honest review.

Thank you to NetGalley and the Publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Evie Wortham is the definition of a woman of the 21st century. She's a surgeon, she's brilliant, she gets what she wants and she surely doesn't compromise the safety of her patients for the protocol of some stuffy suits. She also doesn't apologize for it. As a result, her hospital sends her on a mandatory vacation and her friend offers her her cottage in Inverness to relax in. Evie doesn't plan on it. Still, she ends up on a flight to Scotland soon after. She starts her vacation with a hike, where following a mewling kitten lands her in the thirteenth century, next to a pool in which an unciouscious man with a huge gash in his head is floating face down in the water. Unaware of what has befallen her, Evie saves the man in strange clothes from drowning and stitches his head wound. When he wakes, Chieftain Quinn MacTaggart realizes what the woman in strange clothes has done for him. He sees an Englishwoman, alone in the Highlands, with the kindess to save his life. And so he decides to offer the only thing he can in order to ensure her safety: his hand in marriage.

To start, I'd like to admit what I expected from this book: a steamy romance with a fine plot and fun storytelling. What I got? I got an romance with amazing side plots, good characters and exquisite storytelling. I was NOT expecting to read this in less than 24 hours, and I definitely wasn't expecting to become so attached to the characters. While the circumstances of Evie's time travel aren't explained and she has suprisingly little interest in how it actually works for the fact that she is a woman in science, the rest of it sounds surprisingly accurate from an emotional viewpoint. She has a very natural reaction to being in a situation you don't want to be in and you can't get out of, especially since she already knows and likes Quinn before she realizes. I really liked this bit. I also liked how uncompromising of her personal rights she is and that this is what Quinn comes to love most about her. I really enjoyed the development of their relationship in general, with all the banter and occasional drama. I did think there would be a lot more steam than there was, but I didn't reallly miss it, the much better than expected plot more than made up for it. I did guess the big plottwist at the end really early on, but I don't think that is necessarily a bad thing, the foreshadowing was just really good and at some points perhaps a bit toooo good.
This book is for you if you want a quick, fun romance with a good plot to distract you from everyday life.

Taming her Highland Legend
Time to Love a Highlander #2
Maeve Greyson
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Dr. Evie Wortham has just been ordered to take 30 days off or she's fired. She is surgeon in the 21st century and she knows, she is one of the best. Her best friend is not only the one who has to tell her this bad news she also gives her the keys to her cottage in Scotland. telling her to hike, rest, and to go and relax. Evie has to get a handle on herself and her anger issues before she gets in more trouble. She does go to Scotland and decides to dive right into hiking and taking special pictures to prove she's really there in Scotland doing what she's got to do. On her hike near a waterfall she hears a kitten mewling in distress. Evie follows the sound of the kitten to the other side of the falls and still can't find the kitten however she does discover a man floating face down in the pool below.

Chieftain Quinn MacTaggart opens his eyes and all he sees is the lovely, but oddly dressed English Woman. By this time he is certain that he has been captured by the English. He'd put nothing past that English King when it comes to his arrogance and determination to break Scotland. But when the outspoken woman turns out to be a healer, and confesses to him that England has banished her, Quinn's honor will have him do the right thing. He not only offers her the protection of his clan, he also offerers her the protection of taking his name. After all she did save his life, didn't she? This woman is spirited, full of spunk, and as beautiful as one can get. He couldn't ask for a better choice of wife. The arrangement can help benefit the both of them.

Evie has found herself trapped in 13th century Scotland with no way to tale care of herself, so marrying to keep herself alive is as good a reason as any to marry Quinn. But then there is an assassin intent on killing Quinn which is the reason he fell in the fairy pool to begin with. They need to work together to figure it out before Quinn ends up dead and Evie a widow.

Maeve Greyson is absolutely fabulous. This author weaves a time travel tale that came to life right before my very eyes. Quinn was such a fierce bear until he met Evie then he became a loveable bear. Evie was amazing and so brave. The chemistry they had was off the chart and I couldn't put this book down. It was that good. Ms. Greyson writes kick butt, smart women who know how to handle themselves and this is another strong woman. I can't wait for the next book
