This one was my least favorite in the series, though I’m not sure why. I didn’t connect with the two main characters like I did in the past books, and I found myself not wanting to sit down and read. It became work to read it. This one brings together a psychic and the navigator of the Sea Dog, one with his feet firmly set into science and the other all about the metaphysical and what can’t be seen or believed. Together they have to discover why the oceans are threatening to devastate Savannah before it is too late. Atlantis plays a role and the adventure takes them out to see a few months after rebuilding the Sea Dog after the adventure in Scotland/England (last book). Again not sure what it was about the characters that I couldn’t connect with but for some reason they felt flat for me not vibrant like the previous couples. I got about 60% done with it before I set it aside for another book. I might return to it to finish, but not sure.

Ahoy there's a Pirate about. I've read a couple of the books in this series, this one is Caleb's story.

Caleb is the navigator, trained to use the stars as his guide, his very science-based even though his immortal!

Diana is a spiritual lady, who is strong-minded. She is being guided by her dreams and they certainly take her on a journey.

Caleb and Diana are great together, their connection does grow very quickly, almost as if they're fated.

I really enjoyed this read.

Romance - Drama - PNR/mystical

Modern pirates are taking the Sea Dog out to the lost city of Atlantis. Caleb has his immortality and captains the ship that will take them while Diana is the psychic who is guiding them. I love the modern twist to this fantasy/pirate romance and the quirks it offers. There's danger, suspense, action that tie this all together. While I read this as a standalone I would say it probably should be read in order to give a fuller effect of other relationships within the crew.

I received a copy of this book from Entangled Publishing and NetGalley in exchange for a voluntary and honest review. This does not affect my review in any manner and my opinions are solely my own.

I’ve been reading this author for a while, and this series is one of my favorites by her, and I think this is probably my favorite in the series. In this latest, we see Caleb finally connect with his mate. I absolutely adored the chemistry between these two! The connection was immediate, and their courtship was honest, straightforward, and touching. I have started to really enjoy when a couple are open and honest with each other and don’t try to hide what they each want. Add to that, the writing was superb, the plot interesting, and I enjoyed every minute of the book. I especially enjoyed the interesting twists that came in this one about a couple of things that came out in this book (vague because spoilers!). I can’t wait to see where the author is going to go next! Highly recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.

Pirate's Paradox is one of my favorite books in this series. Caleb and Diana have such great chemistry and I was fully invested in their story. Kessler has built such a fascinating world and I hope we get to explore more of it past this series. Without giving too much away, Caleb and Diana are having strange dreams that are pulling them to certain coordinates in the Atlantic Ocean. Along the way, the other pirates and some of their partners show Diana the "ropes" of the pirate life and Caleb is reminded that there's more to life than research and late night infomercial shopping. Through their journey they each have to let go of things in their past if they are going to be able to make their relationship work and sacrifices will have to be made if they're going to survive. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Caleb is an Immortal and a Pirate. He is a ship's Navigator and a man of Science. To him, everything has a scientific answer. Diana comes to the ship looking for an other man in the crew, hoping he will be able to return a favor. She has been dreaming of numbers and has finally realized that the numbers are Latitude and Longitude. She wants the ship to take her to these coordinates.

Caleb has been having dreams also and they have disturbed him enough that he refuses to sleep.. When ne meets up with Diana to discuss the trip, there is a definite attraction between them. After a little coercing and arguing, Diana convinces him that they should make this trip..

They set off on their trip and strange weather related occurances are going on. all around them, horrible storms and winds making them worry that they will not make it home.. Others seem to think they are on the verge of finding Atlantis...

Will they find Atlantis and what does Atlantis need from Caleb and Diana? Will Caleb and Diana survive to explore the relationship between them?

This was a different type of story for me and I did struggle a bit. I have to say though, toward the end when it all came together it was very interesting and many questions were answered for me.

Caleb Graves is an immortal pirate and a total nerd. He's been learning and expanding his knowledge for more than 300 years. In the last few weeks, however, he hasn't been sleeping because of some very immersive and terrifying dreams. Dreams that involve rogue waves that could destroy Savannah. What he doesn't know is that Diana, a local psychic, has been having similar dreams. The pirates own Diana a favor for help she gave them before and she asks them to take her out to the coordinates that have been appearing in her mind as part of the dreams.

Caleb is a man of sciences and even in the face of his own immortality he only believes in facts - not the ephemeral and unexplainable. As he and Diana get closer however, his mind (and heart) is expanded in ways he never expected.

Caleb and Diana are great together - and Diana is definitely a force. That being said - I probably shouldn't have started here with this series. I'm not saying you can't - because what is going on is definitely clear and you don't really need to know more about the pirates to understand the situation - but I still felt like I was missing something. I also wasn't intrigued enough to go back and read the other books. This must be a transitional book in the series. It obviously takes place after a big event - and seems to set the stage for the next phase of the pirates lives.

Overall - I am guessing fans of this series will adore it and how it moves the overall story forward.

I received this as an ARC from NetGalley, but these opinions are all my own.

This is a wonderful feel good read. It's a remarkable twist on the Atlantis myth written with such emotion.

This was a fun and steamy read, set in an astonishing fantasy land with pirates, adventure and so much more! I didn't realise this was book 6 in a series when I dove in, but I found out pretty quickly with references and backstories that I couldn't connect with having not read the previous books.

Overall, I enjoyed the book but wish I'd read the series in order.

I absolutely loved this pirate! Caleb is so fun, with his love of science and shopping.. A wonderful paranormal/fantasy romance full of steam, adventure and addictive characters!

I loved this book!’ Caleb and Diana share a similar dream about a tidal wave hitting Savannah. but Caleb believes he can find out what is causing this unnatural occurrence through science and Diana knows it’s not science. These two find they must work together to save the city they love. Can they get over their initial distrust of the other’s beliefs or will they be to late? If you have a love of pirates this is definitely a book you don’t want to miss!

If you enjoy books that are an eclectic mix
Of mythology, fantasy, magic, romance and more for your reading fix
This has a great mix of genres and a story to enthral
I didn't want to put it down till I'd read it all!

With pirates who've drunk from the Holy Grail
Gaining eternal life that should not fail
They're working with a secret Government department thirteen
Seeking iconic and mythological items to keep from being seen.

This time it is the navigator and professor, Caleb Graves
Who is striving to work out how to Savannah save
The tides aren't behaving as they normally should
He takes this as a sign of something coming that's not good.

When Miss Bianca, a psychic, comes to call
She brings a warning for them all
And a request to be taken far out to sea
To a location her spirit guide tells her to be.

When these two meet their attraction is great
But neither of them are really looking for a mate.
Their dreams may be showing them both the key
To saving Savannah - they need to see.

What an action packed read this proved to be
With whirlpools, storms and perils at sea.
Can these two work together to decipher the clues
They need to do so quickly as there's much to lose.

This is another brilliant read in this series and so
I highly recommend you give this and them all a go.
I think this series is superb, it's one that I adore
I never want to wait to read yet more!

For my complementary copy of this book, I say thank you,
I throughly enjoyed reading it and this is my honest review.

Caleb Graves has sailed the seas as a pirate navigator for over two hundred years, but the unpredictable tides that have been hitting Savannah lately have him stumped. He has spent his very long life learning everything he can, but that might not be enough.

Diana Williams as Madam Bianca, psychic , knows all about the "woo woo" in the world and has helped one of the pirates before. This time, she needs help with a dream.

This is an action packed paranormal romance. An adventure under the waves is coming for our characters. Even though our hero is immortal he has a strictly scientific mind that doesn't accept magic easily.

This is part of a magical series that is best read in order, but each book can be read alone.

Great fun.

I was taken on an adventure that was both thrilling and romantic. Caleb and Diana’s destiny to find each other was a whirlwind, pun intended. A crazy ride on the Sea Dog once again. This one had me loving the pirates yet again. Book gifted by

Caleb was the navigator on the Sea Dog, he is also a science and math professor. He has been alive for over two hundred years after drinking from the Holy Grail. Diana, a psychic, is just starting her advertising business and her aunt left her her Botanica Shop. Diana has been having strange dreams about water and numbers that she figures out is coordinates in the Atlantic. She needs a ship and calls in a favor from one of the Sea Dog crewmen. Whatever drew them out there, wants them both. What will Caleb have to give to protect Diana?

Great story. Pirates and lost cities. A man who believes if it’s not science then it’s not real and a woman who listens to the dead. You can almost imagine you are there with them.

Pirate's Paradox by Lisa Kessler (Sentinels of Savannah # 6)
This is the sixth book in the authors series and is Caleb Graves and Diana Williams story of rising tides, dreams, my favorite Pirate crew of the Sea Dog and Atlantis. Yes that Atlantis which has been sending dreams of returning a Orichalcum key have been causing Caleb many sleepless nights and spending a lot of money on QVC. But when Diana comes to Caleb asking for Drake she discovers they have been having the same type of dreams of high tide levels and coordinates of Tidal Wave.

Will the Sea Dog and the crew survive the fury of a whirlpool, ancient Atlantis beings and when they ask for a trade for the safety of Diana will Caleb offer his immortality because they rely on give and take to balance their world ? But there is also someone else interested in the crew of the Sea Dog who wants something they took and he wants it back. Til the next book after all we still have Pirates who need to find their forever after women.

Unfortunately, I had to DNF this book. I didn't realize this was book six in a long-running series. I started reading the first chapter and realized there is a LOT of backstory and characters referenced that are necessary for understanding context, and presumably all that content resides in the previous five installments. Seems like this is a series best started from the beginning and read in order. I may revisit this review if I decide to read the series as a whole. Giving it three stars to be as neutral as possible, since I didn't get very far before I had to DNF.

I've read others in the series and while I think some world building is missed if you come in to it in the middle, I think people picking this up first will be able to follow along.

The skeptic and the psychic didn't work for me because as the blurb acknowledges Caleb is immortal and has seen many things in his long life, so why he wouldn't at least give more credence to Diana's claims is something I couldn't get past. Caleb and Diana have a fun chemistry but because I couldn't suspend my own disbelief at the setup this didn't land as strongly for me.
