This book, even with sensual scenes, was really very sweet.
The heroine is an orphan who guardian passed away. At that time she left the school she was in as a graduate and was caught up in an protest. She had been trying to get away from a man who was hunting her down. The hero is a man who the ton does not respect because he is not a title holder and he is a large man. He is known as a beast to some people. He wants to fit in and he gets caught up in the protest also. He is able to get out of jail and pays bail on everyone else because he was mad at the police. He is also the guardian if his cousin's son who is the present earl. A six year old earl. The hero discovers that the heroine is a tutor for adults and hires her as his ward's tutor since he saved her twice from the man chasing her. They travel to the estate and find that the six year old earl is a little brat. The hero wants to raise him to be a good man. The tutor is very fond of her charge and fonder of the hero.
I liked this story because it really had great character development. The hero is reticent to approach the heroine because he thinks he is a horrible person. With the help of the earl and the heroine, the hero realizes that he can be accepted. The scenery and settings were very descriptive and the story was encompassing. I recommend reading with 5 stars.
