A fun read, as four women in their sixties head off for a weekend that will change their lives, with unexpected romance, sexual awakening, restored self confidence, a renewed career, and experiments in nudity around every corner! The power of female friendship takes centre stage, and there are lots of laughs I really enjoyed it.

I think the book is well written. The story flows well. The characters and the plot are unique. That said, it was just an okay book for me. I really wanted to love this book. I really enjoy reading books with older characters and thought this would be something I would want to race through and would not be able to put down, but that was not the case for me.

I think there are several things that caused me to feel this way. The humor at times I thought was funny, but most of the time, it did not strike me as humorous. The way the characters were portrayed seemed to make them older than the ages they were, 62, 63, 68 and 69. That may well be since I know and am friends with people of those ages and they are confident in their lives and are proud of their age. Also, while I was interested in what would happen in the story, I was not totally invested in it. I was reading to finish the book, rather than being fully immersed.

Each person is different, and I am sure that they are many people that will fully enjoy all that this book offers.

Thanks to HarperCollins UK, One More Chapter and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity of reading the advance reader copy. My review is my own opinion, not influenced by receiving the ARC.

I have been eagerly awaiting this book for a while now. I randomly found this on Amazon one day and have been looking forward to reading it ever since. The front cover just spoke to me, perhaps it was telling me that I need to book a spa break!. The book didn't disappoint either. It was feel good, and easy to read, funny and will make you really smile and at times laugh out loud. Very enjoyable

I really enjoyed this book, it was well written, with a compelling and uplifting storyline and well developed characters that were relatable and likeable. I loved the setting too and it has made me want to visit a spa even more than I already did. I would highly recommend reading this book, it is such a quick, easy and cute read.

I throughly enjoyed reading this! I finished it in one sitting and loved every page! The friendship between the 4 women is something to certainly write about! The best thing about the story they all go to spa with worries and problems and leave feeling 100
Times lighter!

“What happens at Sparadise will take you to paradise.”

That’s what long time friends Bridgette, Emily, Marjory and Serena hope for when they plan a getaway weekend to celebrate Bridgette’s 70th birthday. All need to leave their problems behind. Bridgette’s husband has neglected her for years, Emily has devoted her life to her selfish and spoiled sons, Marjory’s husband is obsessed with his racing pigeons and Serena’s cooking show was cancelled because of her age and the popularity of Yvette the Chefette.
The weekend is a success but not in the way the women anticipated. All learn truths about themselves. Appearances, behavior, careers and relationships change. The one constant is that their friendship remains.

The Spa Weekend is light, funny and easy to read. It’s not realistic but I didn’t care. I enjoyed reading about older woman who deal with same issues that younger people do. I would like to read more about these friends to see what comes next. 4 stars

Thank you to NetGalley, HarperCollins UK, One More Chapter and Caroline James for this ARC.
