Solid thriller of a story that will take you for a ride. It was up and down with this book for me. The characters are well done and the story is well planned out.

The premise of the book was good. The writing style was very repetitive and unbelievable. The ending was poor and I felt like the book didn’t live up to my expectations

Thank you so much Harper Collins and NetGalley for this ARC

I didn't think I was going to love this book quite so much!

The storyline was original and unique different I was really wanted to see where this would go and wasn't disappointed. I was hooked from the start and just kept reading to see what would happen next and who was behind things. The ending was perfect and this is a must read

A very good read and highly gripping. I just had to read another chapter and before I knew it, I was done. Great plot and characters.

This was a fast, intense, and impossible to put down book that’s hooked your from the start and didn’t let up —perfect for thriller fans.

This story had elements that could really work, but it never came together for me. The pacing was slow, yet somehow a ton of information is thrown at the reader. I truly enjoyed trying to guess what the unreliable characters would do next.

This was a really interesting concept and a book that kept me engaged for the most part. I felt the plot was unique and not something I had read before.
The characters didn't grab me and I unfortunately lost a little interest towards the end of the book.

I really enjoyed this one, I feel like it had just the right amount of intrigue, tension and suspense to keep me hooked throughout, the only thing that let it down was a slightly disappointing ending but other than that the characters were interesting, the plot was great, it was twisty and written really well!

I found this a really interesting read and I enjoyed the tension and build up to the absolute disaster zone of drama that happened in the book. It kept me guessing and intrigued throughout the book and I was not expecting the ending at all!

The synopsis of this novel intrigued me and it was a very intriguing and interesting read. I enjoyed the plot and trying to figure out what was going on. There were several twists I did not see coming. Overall a good novel that I enjoyed.

I really enjoyed the first 65% of this locked in thriller.. It was very thrilling, and you were stuck on the island there was no where else to go. But then that last 35% really dragged on, it was slow, it was jumbled. It was almost like someone else wrote the second half of the book.

I had to suspend belief at the end of the book and I hate when that happens.

Wasn't a win for me.

Many thanks to the publishing team for my digital copy for review
I really enjoyed this book and there was a lot to pack given the amount of characters! I could see this being a series and you can really unpack each character. Due to the nature of so much the pace of the story did slow down but in doing so the author was able to build this sense of jeopardy and claustrophobia that you get a sense of dread looming.
A captivating read that is very descriptive which I really liked.

"The Trial" by SA Masters is a captivating read that delves into the legal system and the human psyche. The author weaves a compelling story of a high-stakes trial that keeps the reader on edge until the very end. The characters are well-developed, and the legal proceedings are realistically portrayed, making the reader feel as though they are in the courtroom. The themes of justice, morality, and human nature are explored in a thought-provoking manner, leaving a lasting impact on the reader. I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in legal drama, or those looking for a page-turner that will challenge their perceptions of the justice system.

I have mixed feelings about this book. I really enjoyed the story and the characters were great. The negative side is that it was very long winded and could have been much shorter.

Having said that, I would still recommend as the book was well written and it was a good read.

An offer of money and a stay on one of the Canary Islands seems like a good deal to those who join the trial, and although there's all the usual medical waivers you'd expect, what's the worst that can go wrong?

This is a tense thriller where you think you know what is going on, but your expectations are often messed with.

I liked the idea of some of the characters going but having faked the results in order to be chosen.

I enjoyed seeing where the story took me, and the twists and turns of the book!

Interesting book! Read it in one setting! It's the first time I have read a book from this author and I will be checking out some more.

I really don't like giving such low stars for books, but I admit I did struggle with this book. The first quarter of the book I quite enjoyed. We meet Elle who signs up for a medical trial in the Canary Islands, with a payout of £20,000 if the trial completes. Meeting the other participants was interesting, along with the first few days of the trial with its sun-drenched surroundings! I started to lose where the book was going about half way into the story however, and struggled to understand what was going on. Considering it was only the participants and the staff on the island, I found it difficult to remember who was who. Some of what happened seemed really far-fetched and I thought the ending was a bit of a let down, which I didn't understand if I'm completely honest!

Unfortunately I didn't really enjoy this novel. It was dark and twisted, which I usually like, but in this case it was just too far-fetched for me and I found it hard to finish.
