Who doesn't enjoy a steamy bodyguard romance? Although the initial premise seems slightly random as the main character is a florist who after a break-in to her shop in Kensington employs a bodyguard... definitely isn't necessary. However, if you get past this the book makes for an easy and enjoyable read!

The chemistry in this book is unmatched which then just made the sex scenes all the spicier! One thing which has dropped the rating slightly though is, that after their first sexual encounter inta-love kicked in.

This was the second book in a series, which I didn't know until the final pages so it can be read as a standalone. I'll definitely be picking up the books still to be released.

Protect Me Not by Natasha Anders was a sweet and emotional read. After a break-in, Vicki now has a bodyguard to watch over her. She knows she does not need him but she has no say. Ty is ready to be done with what he basically considers a baby-sitting job, but for now, it’s his job. Suddenly, they are looking at each other a bit differently and a limited friends with benefits relationship may just be what they need. Vicki was sweet and caring. Ty was not looking for a relationship. He carries so much on his shoulder from the past, could he ever be open for me?

Happy reading!

Read 23% of the way into this book but kept starting and stopping. I had trouble getting into it and figured it was better to review as is. It was written well just not my cup of tea.

From the previous book, it already seemed like Victoria and Tyler had a story, along with chemistry, brewing between them. For Vicki's safety, her brother hired the best protection around in the form of Tyler Chambers. While Tyler is used to more intense and exciting jobs, watching Vicki feels like glorified babysitting for a woman who loves her independence and enjoys riling him up. However, he has learned a lot about her in the process while he ignores anything attractive about her. It seems like he would be relieved to find out that this assignment will be over shortly, but he hardly feels relief. Vicki has this open exuberance about her where she wears her heart on her sleeve while Tyler remains very clammed shut and has no emotional connection to offer whatsoever. Through a few circumstances that guide them closer to each other beyond professional bounds, they embark on a no strings relationship that seems to fulfill their basic needs in the time left with each other. I liked Vicki's honesty and sweetness, realizing what her limits are and only letting herself get in so deep until she knew there would be no way back out without risking her heart. Tyler went back and forth, part of in his internal conflict having to do with his history and background, especially with trauma, so it was understandable that he took a while to come around. I loved the moments where he seemed he wanted the best for Vicki even if it wasn't him, but when it came to actions, he wouldn't tolerate anyone else for her either. The slow burn allowed the story to focus on the character and relationship development, which felt natural and well-paced, and the resulting romance blossomed into something authentic and beautiful between two people who seemed like the opposite of each other.

Ty is a bodyguard assign to Vicki per her brother.
Vicki doesn't think she needs one but puts up with Ty.
Their continue connection leads to a beginning romance..
Ty has a lot of emotional baggage that Vicki has to work though
A good love story romance.

The blurb of Protect Me Not got me curious: why does a florist need a bodyguard?

Not having read any other books from Natasha Anders, I hadn’t realized that Protect me Not is the second of a series. But you can read it as a standalone perfectly. We meet Victoria, said florist, who has bodyguard Ty following her every day. And Victoria is fed up with that. But after her rebellious phase. (where she would try to lose her detail) she realized that it only got Ty in trouble with her brother.

And although she hates her stick-up- his-cute-butt-bodyguard, she doesn’t want his reputation as a stellar bodyguard tarnished by her actions. Ty hates his assignment. Guarding Victoria is lame as hell, so he is seriously reconsidering his career choice. When an opportunity arises, he wants to seizes it.

When confronted with the fact that Ty’s assignment will end and Victoria’s detail will be less, both come to realize that being stuck together isn’t so bad at all. But admitting that to the other party.- with only a few weeks left together, someone’s gotta give. Or they will never see each other again.

The story is an opposites attracts with a nice slow burn. Ty is a very straight laced, grumpy exterior kind of guy. Whereas Victoria is a happy-go-lucky kind of girl, who trusts everyone. The attraction is undeniable and cute. So, if you are in the mood for a nice romance, check out this one.

Four out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.

A slow burn tale, I did love all the characters but especially Jazz and Chance, as they shone. Tyler was devoted to his CPO role - to the exclusion of all emotion as too many people he had been close to had died and left him alone.
Vicki has given Tyler the runaround in an attempt to dislodge that stick which is very firmly wedged. In a move that is guaranteed to cause heart ache they give into what has been simmering for the last year and its off the charts. Ty offers a no strings, relationship that ends in a few weeks as her protection is no longer needed. His only stipulation, no sleepovers, cuddling and no one can ever know.

Protect Me Not was an okay story. The characters were fine, the story was fine. the chemistry between Vicki and Tyler was meh. Maybe I’ve just been reading too many jerky bodyguard books lately but there was sadly nothing special about this book which sucks because I really enjoyed the previous book The Best Next Thing

I loved this book from the first few pages, the feeling was there that Vicki and her bodyguard Tyler should be together!
A slow build, great setting and the characters
were funny and believable. Victoria is a strong willed woman who didn’t give up on what she wanted, Tyler stuck to his beliefs too and with a touch of fiery romance, these two finally realise that they’re a great couple.
A well composed storyline and overall great read!

Thanks so much to NetGalley, the publisher and Natasha Anders for the opportunity to read this book.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I had a really good time with this book. It is a multi perspective, bodyguard romance. It follows Victoria, who owns a flower shop in London. After several break-ins, where one leads to an assault on Victoria, her older brother hires a bodyguard for her. Ty has been following Victoria for over a year now, it's boring and tedious, but he has had worse jobs. Ty has tried to keep Victoria at arm's length, but her kind heart keeps making dents in the armor that Ty has had in place for a long time. The scales are tipped, and Ty’s and Victoria's working relationship becomes something a bit steamer.
What a great time this book was, heartwarming, emotional, healing and a bit spicy. I really appreciated that it was not an insta love story, I really don’t care for that type of relationship in my romance and this one surprised me. It was very thought out and I really loved the flower shop setting. The main characters were written really well; they complement each other, sticking really well with their personality traits. I liked how Victoria never gave up on Ty and it was just her nature to be thoughtful and kind, even though Ty fought her all the time. There was definitely a lot of personal growth for both of them and dealing with trauma that is still very present. The spice and tension is good and builds up without being over the top. I would definitely recommend this book.
Trigger warnings: assault, ptsd
I received this advanced ebook, via Netgalley. This review is my own honest opinion.

Enjoyable read. I loved the characters and was a really easy, fast read. Could have done without the repeat of the word ‘honey’ but it was okay.

This is my first Natasha Anders books and it just felt to long and drawn out for a romance novel. The pacing was a bit off, which I think is why I found it slow at times. I found Ty and Vicki's chemistry to not be as convincing as it could have been, I don't know if I just wasn't in the mood or what. I mean, it took Victoria getting drunk for Ty to find himself attracted to her? It was just a little weird to me.

I generally like a good grump and sunshine trope, but the back and forth on this one was a little frustrating. Natasha Anders did do a good job of writing Ty as a complex character and him opening up to something more than just sex. Vicki was an interesting character. I was worried at the beginning that she was going to be a flighty character, but she really held her own to Ty's bossiness and seemed like a strong woman.

The spiciness of the novel was quite steamy, but it was definitely a slow burn.

Overall this was a good book, and I would check out a Natasha Anders book in the future. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an advance copy of this book in exchange for an open and honest review. All opinions are 100% mine.

I received this book for an honest review:

An interesting story that has a florist being protected by a bodyguard. Victor Hollingsworth does not want a bodyguard but her brother assigns one anyway. Ty Chambers can’t wait for this assignment to be over and to move to the next one. His problem is that now he is becoming attracted to her yet he only thinks it is just super vocal. When the two of them start friends only and only until he leaves for his next assignment neither expects to fall for the other one. Well, we know she will it just takes longer for him to admit it. A story with some action there was some nice moments. Overall not bad.

I did enjoy this book but it was reaaaally long winded! I feel like it took ages to take off and then ages to reach a resolution. It was good but felt like it was quite long in places.

The sprinkles of humour made this book fun to read.
I do love a bodyguard trope, so I was keen to read this book.
It had fun chemistry and the flow of the writing was exactly what I like.

A bit of something different than your average romance read. I liked the variation in theme and plot, though at times the hard line in the character interaction grew a little stale. I did like seeing the character development shown through interaction with the background characters, which you don't see as much in this genre, where secondary characters are more often foils, rather than effecting change.

This was a sweet read and I enjoyed it; however, I will say that I didn't feel like the main couple had any chemistry. And while it took me a minute to really get into, once I did, I couldn't put it down. Ty had me mad at times. It seemed weird that he would be her bodyguard for over a year with no attraction and then she gets drunk one night and suddenly he wants her. Gave me a bit the ick vibe but to each their own. Other than that, it was an enjoyable read.

And as always Happy Reading!!

Protect Me Not is the second book in the Unporfessionally Yours series.

When Victoria Hollingsworth's florist business, Bloomin' Paradise is broken into, her older brother, Miles insists she has a bodyguard. Enter Tyler Chambers....the hot, gorgeous man who gets to spend all day with her. Too bad Tyler is a serious, no nonsense type of guy. As much as Vicki tries to get to know him better, he just doesn't doesn't budge. Ty is looking forward to being done with this protection detail. Only a few months left and then he will be on to bigger and better things. But what is Ty to do when all of sudden he is seeing Vicki in a different light? Ty has tried to keep his feelings reigned in when it comes to Vicki but it is becoming harder and harder until one day they both finally give into to their attraction. Ty tells Vicki it's just short term and she reluctantly agrees. Any time with Ty is better than none. Before long these two are having deeper feelings for each other but the problem is that there are ghosts in Ty's past that he needs to overcome before he can have anything serious with Vicki. Once Ty overcomes his demons he will finally find his happy ever after with Vicki.

I really enjoyed this story. I just adored Ty. He tried his hardest to be all serious but when he finally met the right woman that all got thrown to the wayside. Vicki was a fun, sweet girl. Anyone would be lucky to be with her. I really enjoyed how she was able to bring out the best in Ty. I also just loved Ty's big, grand gesture. It was a perfect ending to this wonderful couple.

Miles has assigned Tyler Chambers to protect his sister Victoria, but when the two are together the majority of the time, they can't help but be more than just Protector and Principle.

I quite enjoyed the narrative of this novel, it was easy and the erotic scenes are spicey enough to set a fire in your panties!

However, it was the context of the scenes which could be confusing, this novel is based in the UK, London, the character of Tyler is American, Vicki is British, some wording used to describe scenes from Vicki's POV were Americanised eg thrift shop, apartment etc. Which made me forget the setting was meant to be UK-based, so when relevant content describing a UK scene was written it shocked me to remember that actually this is all taking place in London; because of this, it could be quite confusing.

Toward the end of the novel, it lost its 'heated' scenes which I understand, because it needed to also focus on the narrative. However, for a novel that comes under the genre of erotic fiction, I did want it to keep the 'fire.'

This is a series of novels and although I enjoyed the characters, especially in the flower shop, I don't feel I need to find out the relationship in the previous novel, and I already have an idea of what will happen in the next as it was all a little cliched.

So, if you want something with a little bit of spice and a turn on I would recommend this novel, however, I wouldn't rely on this novel for anything more.
