I love the books in this series, and Aaron Slater, Illustrator is another phenomenal addition to the beautiful Questioneers Picture Books series. This story focuses on Aaron, a dyslexic boy who is struggling to communicate as effectively as his peers using the same methods they are. He discovers that his communication may not mirror his friends, but that with extra work and imagination he, too, can clearly present his own contributions.

One of my favorite things about this book is that it doesn't try to tell kids that their disability makes them a superhero and as the parent of an ADHD dysgraphic, I can tell you that is a hard sell. This book affirms what I try to help my son understand, that his work will look different than his peers, which is OK, and that he will have to put in more effort sometimes to achieve similar results, so I love the message here.

The audio narration was superb and I loved the jazz background music. This is soothing enough that it could be played at bedtime.

Aaron Slater, Illustrator is a beautiful book about a young man who is a talented artist. He struggles to learn to read due to dyslexia, but begins to gain confidence in himself as he persists and works hard. This book celebrates our gifts and the necessity of hard work and diligence. I listened to the audiobook, which was wonderfully narrated by Sullivan Jones. The audiobook sounds cinematic and surely a great addition to the picture book. This is sure to be a new classic!

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for providing this ARC.
