An interesting read. Sophie moves to London for a new start, but her past keeps following her. Strange things happen at her apartment and she has huge gaps of memory. The plot was interesting. It took me awhile to discern who was foe or friend. I have to say Sophie isn’t the sharpest knife in the drawer. In one of the scenes, where she is in trouble she stupidly thinks the villain is going to,help her, after just having tried to kill. her. I didn’t root for the villains but I wasn’t a fan of Sophie’s either.

This book had me gripped right from the very start and kept me hooked right until the very last sentence. I read it so quickly I just could not put it down. It was so suspenseful, mysterious and tense and full of unpredictability. I really enjoyed it.

I think this is the quickest I've read a book in a long while. I loved this! I was hooked from the start and couldn't stop reading. I had no idea which way it was going to turn it how it would end. It was really well written, and it was truly terrifying as it was so believable. I can't wait to read another by this author

The first word that comes to mind is, wow! To say this book has captured current themes that we see in the news regularly is an understatement. I felt for Sophie, being in the position of someone in debt and someone who needed to make things work at all costs.

There is so much about The New Girl that gave me the creeps. Her living arrangements, the house, her work place, her ex, her vulnerability. I felt her frustration in her initial job, one that wasn’t taxing her that could easily have led to a life that would be a waste of her talents and hard work. I got easily swept up in her new life and job; the bright lights of London and all the opportunities it could bring.

The surrounding cast were cleverly used leading to a denouement that I did not see coming, one that is clearly planted like a film in my mind. I’d love to see this made as a mini series. Fantastic, addictive, with a sense of danger at every turn!

Sophie was raped whilst at university and forced to leave because all the friends of her rapist labelled her a liar. She has finally put the trauma behind he and landed what seems like her dream job in London which comes with free accommodation. Too good to be true? Perhaps it is. An enjoyable read, I did see a couple of the twists coming.

I've read a couple of Ruth Heald's books and I really enjoyed them.
The New Girl has to be one of her best yet.

The New Girl was an amazing, well-executed thriller. With every chapter finished I was eager to read more to see what would happen next.
Such a good thriller, kept me guessing the whole way through trying to work out what was going to happen next and how the story would end.
The main character of Sophie was extremely complex and had me second-guessing her all of the time. She is very intriguing and interesting to say the least.
This book was suspenseful from the very first chapter.
There were so many twists and turns I couldn’t put the book down.
The pace is fast in this gripping page turner.
The tension builds throughout.
This is the best book that I've read so far by the author

Thank you Bookouture and NetGalley for an early copy of The New Girl. Very fast read, you never knew who you could trust. Great plot, just a bit too far-fetched especially the ending. All in All, give it a try.

Based on the premise and the first third of the story, I thought I was really going to love it. Unfortunately, the ending was a bit of a letdown. I don't want to say too much for fear of spoiling it, but it felt like there were a lot of loose ends, and the conclusion wasn't at all satisfying. This was also one of those stories where I was internally screaming at the protagonist in frustration as she ignored every red flag in her path. With all of that said, I really did enjoy aspects of the writing and would try another of the author's books to see if it's a better fit for me.

This was a good, solid thriller. I enjoy a workplace based thriller so this appealed to me straight away.

I liked the pacing - every chapter advanced the plot and keeps the reader interested. Sophie's new job, flat and boyfriend were all obviously too good to be true so I enjoyed discovering what price she would have to pay for them.

I wasn't particularly surprised by the outcome but it was a fun journey getting there. I would recommend the book to others.

The New Girl by Ruth Heald is another riveting read from an author who always wins me over with her ability to keep me on the edge of my seat.

Sophie is looking for a fresh start following the end of a relationship, and finds herself in London, securing a job that is beyond her wildest dreams. With exciting social opportunities, a free apartment, the company's willingness to pay off her debts, and the attentions of a handsome admirer, it all seems too good to be true. And we all know how that old adage ends. Or do we?

Fans of Ms Heald will not be disappointed. 4.5 stars

Many thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for an ARC.

It seems like and opportunity to finally the the past behind. A new job, complete with an apartment, what could possibly go wrong? Bumps in the night, rumors about the woman who held the job before her, the woman who mysteriously disappeared, and who turns out to be only one of many young women who have seemingly vanished. It would seem this dream job is really a waking nightmare
