A great book about why journaling and boundaries can change your life - it's important to note that the author's own struggles could reflect something that you are interested in, but for me, I was more interested in how she used what she learned to turn her life around and why.
I took a lot from this book, and it reflects a lot of my own conclusions, for a different reason, I see things similarly, in some ways, to the author.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for giving me an option to review this book.

Journaling is a great practice, especially to help enhance your mental health, something I think a lot of people need after the last couple of years. I have journaled on and off since I was a child but not for a while now so I was keen to get into this book to see if it would help me get back into the rhythm.

Mindset Medicine details Mc`carthy’s struggle with MS and how she needed a change, one that came in the form of journaling. There is a lot of useful information included here, and she jumps straight in without too much preamble, which I enjoyed. There are several exercises to encourage you to begin to journal yourself, I think it nicer to read the book and then read a second time to work through the exercises fully.

Mari K McCarthy writes an inspirational, motivating journey to falling in love with yourself as well as falling in love with journaling. Encouraging you to live your best life no matter what illness or trials may come your way made things seem easier. I enjoyed the journal prompts and would recommend this to anyone looking to make some changes in their lives, to finally love themselves or who is interested in beginning to journal.

I adore journaling. It does wonders for a messy mind. I was excited to read more about it, to get deeper into the practice and learn something new.

This was not the right for that. I didn't like the writing style, it made it so hard to read and stay focused on the book or the message it was trying to make.

Not for me. I have a lovely ever-growimg collection of mindfulness books which I absolutely adore, but this one is just so plain. It's not aesthetically pleasing nor would you look in it and think it was a journal. It doesn't make me want to pick it up and read it.

I loved this book! Such a great, inspirational, motivating journey to falling in love with yourself and even with journaling again. But it isn't just a book about journaling. It offers insight, motivation, and empowerment to living your best life. The journal prompts seem like a huge added bonus. Great book. A must read for those who might feel a bit stuck or lost. And for anyone looking to wake up to their full potential.

As an avid journal thanks to Mari L. McCarthy's website https://www.createwritenow.com, I knew I wanted to read this book. Journaling can change lives if only the individual makes time for the practice to grow within them and on paper.
Mindset Medicine is McCarthy's latest book which details her struggles with MS and how she needed change and the change came in the form of journaling. The details were there and I enjoyed how she jumps into the journaling practice quickly. There isn't lollygagging about here. McCarthy includes useful information. There is a lot of inner self-love work and it's necessary. Healing is about self-love and this book nails it. I worked through most of the book and realized I wanted to start over and really take my time with the exercises and journal myself to health. As someone with chronic illness, especially pain and fatigue, the exercises feel rewarding and are a challenge when you aren't used to being kind to yourself.
