The Sweetheart Deal is enough to make the tastebuds swoon. Liasson blends savory spice with sentimental and finds a sweet spot to the heart. From love and hate to sweet and salty, Tessa and Leo are too delicious a treat to pass up.

The Castorinis and the Montgomerys have been hating each other for generations. Leo Castorini is a chef at the Italian restaurant and Tessa Montgomery is a pastry chef at the bakery. They have been in competition all through high school and both are back in their small town to help their family businesses grow. Leo proposes a business proposition; Leo and Tessa should marry to save their businesses. The deal is for 6 months. Once the marriage is on and they work together, they find they have lots in common.
I enjoyed the characters and the strong sense of family and loyalty to those you love.

Tessa and Leo's families have been at odds for generations, but they strike up a deal to get married to save their family businesses.

This is a sweet, small town romance. While the premise is a bit outlandish and overdramatic like a soap opera, it's still a fun story. Tessa and Leo are both committed to supporting their families whose boulangerie and Italian restaurant businesses are struggling. Their parents aren't open to change so they team together to showcase what is possible.

But what started as a marriage contract quickly turns to more as they each let their guard down and open up to one another. There are fun scenes with meddling family members, one bed/forced proximity, and charming characters all around facing realistic problems. Pick this up if you want a light-hearted story that will keep you smiling and craving croissants!

In the small town of Blossom Glen, Tessa, a pastry chef, is trying to save her family's business.

She approaches the restaurant next door to strike up a deal with her family's mortal enemy - the Castorini's.

The ever handsome Leo has caught Tessa's eyes, again....

She can't act on it as she knows her family would never support the 2 of them together, unless they form a plan to make their families get along and save both businesses

They decide they will marry for 6 months, and then go their separate ways - but we all know from other fictions couples that that will not work.

They realize they need to stay together because they love each other

This is book 1 in the Blossom Glen series, and I believe that each book will be a standalone but also tie into each other.

I've not read anything prior by this author but she's now on my watch list! I really enjoyed this story and needed another series to add to my life.

I listened to this title via NetGalley, the narrator was very peaceful to listen too.

I just reviewed The Sweetheart Deal by Miranda Liasson. #BrightStar #NetGalley

Tess and Leo's families own neighboring businesses. They have been feuding for decades. Business is down and both of their families refuse to consider change. Tess and Leo decide to unite- they get married- in an effort to save their businesses. The marriage is just a business arrangement, right?

This is a very sweet read that goes quickly. I enjoyed it and am interested to read the next installment of the series.

I listened to the audiobook. The narrator is fine- it is pretty generic, but easy to follow.

The Sweetheart Deal by Miranda Liasson and audiobook narrated by Virginia Rose is a great contemporary romance that I truly enjoyed. This is the first book in a new series: Blossom Glen.

I loved this romance that gives us the classic love to hate to just downright love trope (enemies to friends to romance). This plot adds in the twist of it also involving “rival” families of sorts to add to the entertainment. Leo Castorini and Tessa Montgomery (and their respective families) have competition written all over them, but Tessa and Leo see beyond that and know that they have to adapt and join forces to keep their own respective family businesses cooking.

Their marriage of “business” is supposed to be cut and dry…a proposal of sorts to help make each of their businesses diversify and strengthen….and also to force their families to just get over it already…then move on. But of course they don’t plan on the attraction and chemistry bubbling up to the surface that is quite evident to everyone but those two. I really enjoyed both of their characters, the full cast, the added twist to the classic narrative, and their relationship progression as the story continues.

I also really like that this is the first book in a new series.

I look forward to future books.

The narrator also did a great job.

5/5 stars
