Loved it. Great photos and colorful, fun imagery. Recipes sound amazing. Only down side would be if you are looking for more veg or vegan friendly recipes, you will have to do a little tinkering for yourself. This book would be worth it if only for the salsas and condiments, though, so don’t shy away from it simply because of the meat recipes.

I always love a good cookbook, am a huge fan of Mexican food and love a cookbook with family stories. This one is right up my alley, so to speak!

The family stories drew me in and made me want to start cooking, the maps at the beginning and the photography made me hungry for food and travel. The recipes I am sure I can make or even adapt and I am now going to try a few of the easier ones first and then keep going!

Colourful, fun, entertaining and informative to say the least.

Love it.

Loved loved loved this book. I loved the photos, the stories, the recipes, and the layout. It was like taking an adventure with food. Or sitting down in one of those ambient-rich restaurants that are so few to find to enjoy the food, the décor, and the conversations. This book is so creative, filled with wonderful recipes with stories of the author's journey, which enriches the recipes and the book. It is definitely one to have in print for the keeper shelf. Highly recommended.

WIll post to multiple sites once it gets closer to release date

I have been a fan of Rick Martinez since his Bon Appetit days and was so excited to see he was coming out with a cookbook. I truly have no words for how amazing this cookbook is and it exceeded all my expectations. You can honestly see the love and care Martinez put into this book and all the recipes included. Martinez uses the cookbook to explore his roots and his culture. This book is separated into sections by locations in and around Mexico and it adds so much to the story of the book as each area has its own color palette and photography that helps you feel immersed in the images. This book has some of the best photography I have ever seen in a cookbook. I also loved how Martinez weaves his own personal history and experiences along with giving general history facts about some of the locations. I love how next to each recipe there is background on how it was created, the history of it, and an English translation, I haven't even talked about the food yet. I have cooked some of the best food I have ever eaten since using this cookbook.

Some of my favorite recipes so far include: Arroz Rojo, Tamales Oaxaquenos, and Cemita Poblana

Overall I could not recommend more, this is one of the most personal, beautiful, and delicious cookbooks I have ever seen. Martinez put his heart and soul into this cookbook and it shows.
