This was such a fun regency story. Definitely recommend if you like regency! It is a love triangle but I loved the end and how it worked out!

One of my top reads of the year!!! 💕⁣

I loved this one so much that I’m confident in saying this will absolutely be in my top picks for 2022. I LOVE a good romance, and this one was SO good. Right up there with Regency Romance legends Edenbrooke and Blackmoore, Summerhaven was everything!! Highly recommend for lovers of Downton Abbey. Super swoony and super clean. Yes, please. I adored Hannah and Damon’s story, and was sad when it was over. ⁣

I’ll just be anxiously awaiting Tiffany’s next book now!

If you’re looking for a regency romance, this is the right stop. It is sweet, funny, swoony, memorable, and one that will leaving you wishing it had never ended. It gave me some Edenbrooke and Lakeshire park feels, not because the stories were similar, but that “wow, that was a sweet romance!” Feel. I didn’t walk away thinking, “wow, that was super educational.” But I walked away sighing and just wanting to hug the book close to my chest (dang ebook, doesn’t fulfill those book hugs quite as well)

You have the two brothers with a childhood friend, one that is obviously wrong for Hannah and the other who has been seriously misunderstood. If you’re ready for that new book boyfriend in your life, Summerhaven delivers. Damon is all sorts of goodness and brooding. And Hannah—she has a wonderful name, by the way— is so sweet and direct. There were times I was like, “no! Hannah! Don’t!” But it was just who she was. She’s the character that you’re not annoyed with but that you want to help push in the right direction, because us as the reader obviously knows what’s best.

I adore this book. I simply cannot wait to see what other stories Tiffany Odekirk has up her sleeves. I would not be surprised if she wins a Whitney and/or swoony award for this book.

This book was so hard to put down, I nearly read it in one sitting! Hannah’s childhood love, Ollie, promised to come for her and, after waiting for years, the invitation to his family’s estate, Summerhaven, has finally arrived. She can’t wait to go, but hopes Ollie’s older brother Damon won’t be there. He was always pulling pranks on her as a child, and her memories don’t paint him in the best light. Once Hannah arrives at Summerhaven, however, things haven’t stayed the way she remembered them. Ollie’s head has been turned by another woman and Damon is no longer the boy who once put frogs in her drink, but is now a man whose father is pressuring him to marry. So, in order to help both of their situations, Damon proposes a scheme to pretend they are courting. The plan is that once Ollie sees them together, he will realize he truly loves Hannah, and Damon will be temporarily free from his father’s demands that he find a woman to wed. Hannah agrees, and that decision changes everything.

I loved the way the characters were portrayed as people that are dealing with real-life issues regarding parents, societal obligations, love and loss, and wondering where they belong in the world. It is easy for readers to relate with them and see themselves in the characters. This book touches on some themes and emotions that include how we form attachments in childhood and how those attachments can shape us as adults. The love story is tender and sweet and includes all the emotions as each character tries to figure out their feelings. There are laugh out loud moments and a swoony hero that will have readers cheering for him to find his happily-ever-after. The setting is well-done and gives the book a realistic feel and the secondary characters truly add a depth to the story. This is a book that will touch your heart, give you butterflies, and make you want to read it all over again.

I've read this author's work before and she's wonderful so I was happy to see she had another book out.
I wasn't disappointed.
I think it's pretty cool to keep up a relationship as children into adulthood.
I loved this sweet little book. It kept my attention from beginning to end and the characters were awesome.
I enjoyed the plot very much and I didn't want the book to end.
A fantastic Regency novel that will keep you on the edge of your seat and make you not want to come back to the present.
I very much enjoyed my stay at Summerhaven.
My thanks for a copy of this book. I was NOT required to write a positive review of this book. All opinions are my own.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I have found that it can be challenging to write a level of steam that is realistic, while maintaining the proper boundaries for a clean romance. This author did it fabulously. This story was beautiful and kind. It was a solid read.

Summerhaven
By Tiffany Odekirk

For years Hannah Kent has dreamed of marrying Oliver Jennings. Eight years ago, Ollie promised to marry her. But the childhood promise has seemingly meant little to him as he pursues a more advantageous match. The uneasy alliance she makes with Damon Jennings to sway Ollie's sentiments back towards her is disconcerting. But Hannah is willing to do whatever it takes to win back the love she thought was hers.

Hannah's time with Damon allows her to see someone in sharp contrast to the young boy, the young man she remembers. Could the bane of her childhood become her greatest ally? But can she genuinely fain love for the boy she despised to win back the heart of the one she always loved? There is the only way to know, and that is to agree to Damon's plan.

I liked Damon's character; he seems to be less flighty than Oliver. Damon's behavior toward Hannah is starkly different from that of Oliver's, and to be honest, I'm not sure why Hannah preferred Oliver's. Maybe it was colored by the past and her memories of it.

There are times when I feel for Hannah as the bleakness of what she has lost overcomes her. I feel that her friendship with Amelia is one of the high points for her, though, for a time, it appears that the web she has gotten herself caught in is about to destroy even that.

Summerhaven is a book I highly recommend for anyone wanting a gentle, clean reading romance.

I enjoyed the audio version of this book after first reading it. The narration is good; I found the pacing a little slow, so I upped the playback speed to 1.25x and found it in sync with my average reading speed. Overall this made for a second enjoyable experience with Summerhaven and Hannah's quest for a love match.

I was provided a complimentary digital copy of this book with no expectations but that I provide my honest opinion - all thoughts expressed are my own.

There are many Regency novels for readers to immerse themselves in. I was intrigued that Summerhaven was the first Regency novel that author Tiffany Odekirk had written. I've read her contemporary novels so I was excited to see what she'd do with this genre. I'm happy to say that she struck gold with Summerhaven.

This novel is a combination of childhood sweethearts, enemies to lovers, finding oneself, and forgiving others for past offenses. Hannah starts out heading to her home away from home, Summerhaven. She's spent many a summer there along with the Jennings brothers Oliver and Damon. She always assumed she'd end up marrying Oliver, the second brother. When Hannah arrives at Summerhaven all of her plans and dreams go awry. I really don't want to get into what happens because I don't like giving spoilers. Let's just say that this novel is full of hurt feelings, misunderstandings, truths revealed, witty dialogue, funny happenings, and a kiss in a gazebo that is earth-shaking. (You will read a lot about the "gazebo" in other reviews too.)

I really loved getting to know the characters and how they learned to get to know one another as adults. My favorite new hero has to be Damon. He is such a swoony, handsome, flirt that all women are drawn to him. I loved the whole plot and the way things played out. Summerhaven is a story that stays with you for a long while after you finish the last page. If you haven't read a Regency or it's been a while, this novel is the one that you must pick up. I know that Summerhaven is a book I will pick up again and for someone like me that reads almost 100 books a year, that's saying something to all of you.

"Summerhaven":3.5🌟

This specific genre is more and more to my liking. I have never read a book by this author and found myself in complete awe of how stunning her writing was.
Did you say love triangle? 👀 And fake-dating? 👀👀 All the while having a ball? 👀👀👀 You already know I'm in!
Hannah was absolutely amazing, although there were a few things that got me on my nerves. I loved the dynamics of this book, super fabulous and easy to read! Definitely recommend!

🌸 Well...I expect this review to be very unpopular 😬. Summerhaven is just all over Bookstagram right now and I've seen nothing but RAVE reviews.....👀...enter unpopular, minority opinion.
.
🌸 I did not love this book. I'm sorry. I'm so so sorry! I REALLY wanted to love it!!! I was super stoked to get it on NetGalley and since I'm just in love with regency romance, I assumed this would be a newfound favorite...but alas....it was not to be.
.
.
.
🌸 I almost didn't even review this book because I don't want to turn others away from it! Obviously it's well loved! So take my review with a grain of salt and if you were looking forward to reading it, please don't let my thoughts hinder you!!! But...I'm still going to share said thoughts...
.
.
🌸 I did not love this main character. I found her incredibly naive and annoying quite honestly. I struggled with how she pursued one thing while ignoring all logic and wisdom that should have swayed her....and then how quickly that flip-flopped...like in a day! It wasn't very believable to me and the back and forth from then to the end of the book had me rolling my eyes 🙄
.
.
.
🌸 The end was very sweet, it did conclude how I wanted it to, but for me, it wasn't worth the rest of the read. Having said that, this IS a sweet romantic tale that is free of language, cheesy dialogue, intimate scenes, and graphic content of any kind. It checks those boxes for me, so please add to your tbr if you think your tastes might vary from mine! Like I said...most people seem to love it! I think this one just wasn't for me, which is ok!
.
🌸 Is it weird to say I don't like a book but also encourage others to read it??? Idk...but here we are 🤣🤣
I am so grateful to @netgalley and @covenant_com for this early copy!! All opinions are my own...obviously 👀🤦‍♀️

Ah…Summerhaven. I long to go back and reread this beautiful story again. Odekirk painted the scenery of Summerhaven so well that I could see it in my mind. This regency romance is such a beautiful and emotional story, Hannah’s journey was unlike any other I have read. Caught between two brothers; one she loves and one she loathes…or does she? I became so caught up in Hannah’s world that my own faded around me. It was like I was watching everything play out in front of me. Odekirk has seamlessly moved into the regency genre like she has been writing it for years. A must read for any regency fan, Summerhaven will take you places you never thought you would go.
I received a copy of this book for free; all thoughts and opinions are my own.

This book is going on the shelf right next to Edenbrooke. It hits most of the same notes for me, but has its own unique writing voice and storyline. I love it when the chemistry is clean but tight - and this book delivered with fantastic banter and tension and I could hardly put this book done. Well done and I am so excited for the next book about Winterset!!

I liked everything about Summerhaven. It is pleasant and comfortable to read, but I mean that in a very positive way. The story stayed interesting and kept me wondering if it would work out the way I hoped.

Hannah grew up with Damon and Ollie Jennings because their mothers were good friends. Damon is a constant tease and sometimes carries it too far. Ollie has always been her best friend and the person her mother wanted her to marry one day. Hannah starts to see them differently now that they are grown, and a love triangle forms. It is a clean romance and fun to read.

I received a complimentary digital copy but plan to purchase a copy for myself. Five stars. Tiffany Odekirk is a new author for me, but I look forward to reading more of her books and hope that Ollie’s story will continue in a sequel. Thanks to Covenant Communications and NetGalley for a temporary digital copy to use for my review.

A Regency romance all its own...
There are so many Regency romance books out there and I usually pass on them because to me, they're all alike. But I took a chance on Summerhaven. The storyline appealed to me and once I started the book, I couldn't put it down. Ms. Odekirk's descriptions of the English manor and countryside, style of dress, and the everyday proper life of the aristocrats versus the commoners are on point. The main character, Hannah, is a commoner and has loved aristocrat Oliver since childhood. Their mothers were best friends. After her mother's death, she is invited to spend the summer at Summerhaven and hopes to pick up where they left off. As children, they made a promise to be together for the rest of their lives, and now a young woman, she expected him to still feel the same. But she finds he has changed- and not in a good way. Much more drama to come.
Highly recommended!

Summerhaven follows Miss Hannah Kent as she visits her childhood friend's home, Mr. Oliver Jennings, to rekindle the romance they had promised each other when they were children, however, Ollie isn't the boy she remembered. With the help of his older brother Damon Jennings, they devise a scheme to keep him unmarried and for Hannah to get the attention of Oliver.

The story was fine however I was easily frustrated with Hannah and her inability to take a hint that Oliver wasn't interested, Damon however was a fairly well thought out character that ended up saving the storyline. This novel either needs to be longer to account for more character development and to dive a little deeper and a more well-rounded story or to be a novella as this fell a little flat especially compared to similar stories in the genre. The dynamic between Hannah. and Damon was good and their storyline had twists and turns which kept me engaged even when I was frustrated with Hannah.

The author's writing was enjoyable and although this story was not my favourite I would be interested in her future books.

This ARC was read in NetGalley.

There's something about Regency stories set at a country estate that I just adore! It's such an idyllic environment for the characters to interact with each other. Hannah's expectations of revisiting Summerhaven and reuniting with childhood sweetheart Oliver are pretty high, so it's not a surprise when nothing goes according to her plans. I felt bad for her as she struggles to hold on to her fantasy as it crumbles when faced with the reality of her situation and the changes she discovers in Oliver. It was frustrating when she kept excusing and justifying his behavior, even in the midst of her hurt feelings. I enjoyed Damon's teasing and the glimpses into his heart and unrequited affection for Hannah. He is her rescuer in many ways, and I loved how he helps her see things with a new perspective. This love triangle has plenty of angsty emotion as Hannah navigates complex family dynamics at Summerhaven.

Hannah, Damon, and Ollie all grew up as childhood friends, though Damon was the more mischievous troublesome brother, and Ollie the sweet brother who Hannah shared a kiss with many years ago. When Hannah is invited back to the brothers' family estate of Summerhaven, she fancies Ollie and herself to have a special connection and dreams of marrying him. In order to catch his attention, and to keep Damon's father off his back regarding marriage, Hannah and Damon form a ruse romance.

I might have enjoyed this more in physical print form, as some of the Kindle formatting was unpleasant to read. But ultimately, probably a bit more than half way through, I started wondering why this wasn't a novella. We started down routes that involved even more love polygon nonsense and I think the story would have been better served with a shorter more succinct storyline. I quickly lost interest once Ollie begins to change his tune regarding his inattention towards Hannah and once all the drama crops up in Hannah and Damon's relationship.

I liked the romantic dynamic between Damon and Hannah, mostly on Damon's side since he was more flirty and fun, but I was admittedly easily frustrated by Hannah's inability at first to recognize that Ollie didn't really care about her.

Do you ever finish a book and just sigh in contentment because it was awesome? And you're also kind of sad because you wish it didn't have to end? That was me after reading this story. I loved it from the very beginning to the very end. Not gonna lie, I liked Damon from the beginning as well, and Ollie? Well, he just seemed kind of...oily to me. A player, a flirt. The type of guy that just makes me want to always be on the opposite side of the room as he is. You know what else I loved? That Hannah had a happy family. That is definitely not a common theme in Regency romances. (Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy the genuinely good person in spite of her parents story line as well.)

This story didn't play out entirely as I thought it would, which is good, because it kept me guessing.

**Possible slight spoiler alert...**

It did have a bit of a love triangle, which I'm not a huge fan of, but I think it wasn't too bad for me because I never even considered the other guy as being in the running. But it is there.

This is definitely a book that will go on my keeper shelf, and one that I will happily read over and over again.

Have you ever loved a book so much that you want to tell everyone about it, while at the same time wanting to keep it a secret? That is exactly how I feel about Summerhaven. I was completely captivated by the story and characters from the beginning of the novel until the very end. Upon finishing it I was ready to reread it immediately. In fact, I spent about an hour that evening going back and reading some of my favorite parts. When you can't put a book down and let the story go, even after you've finished reading, you know the word "captivating" cannot even begin to describe how you feel.

A thoroughly enjoyable book to read. It kept me reading on to see which brother wins in the end. There was a good storyline and all the characters were interesting. I enjoyed the description of the balls and life at that time. I do recommend that you read this book.
