This is a 4.5 star book.

I had read Odekirk's first contemporary romance and had mixed feelings about it, so I was intrigued to see how her regency would be. Plus the title and cover is gorgeous!

It has the same last name, Jennings, as her contemporaries so I guess its not related/related.

Hannah grew up going to Summerhaven every summer with her mother. There she played with Oliver and they got into plenty of scrapes. She has loved him since, she didn't love his older brother Damon teasing her. Now they're grown up and its been years since she's returned. She's hoping Ollie will propose to her but he's aloof. Damon suggests a fake courtship to make him jealous and Hannah agrees.

I love fake dating, definitely more than a love triangle, and there are plenty of swoony moments. Odekirk had me angry, cringing and then happy. All within a few pages.

The plot is a staggering line, sometimes up and sometimes down. I didn't know how it would end. Its a little predictable and I think there needed to be just a little bit more at the end. I felt there was little character development between the characters and the person I'm hoping most to have a book of their own is Captain Bromley. And Lady Margaret. I never cared for Ollie and even now I don't care to read about him in his own book. His character was all over the place. But Damon is such a swoony hero, he is made a better man because of Hannah. And he was already pretty good. The cottage with the roof! Loved it!

I received an e-arc copy from the publisher and Net Galley. This book releases in less than 2 weeks on Valentine's day. Perfect day to release this new clean romance book.

Summerhaven is a delightfully sweet regency romance complete with a love triangle, fake dating (or courting, as I should say), and enemies to lovers. All my favorite tropes in one beautiful book! I loved the slow-burn romance, and the plot moved quickly. I couldn't put it down! And give me ALL the kind, handsome, misunderstood regency men. Even though I could have done without the miscommunication trope, I overall enjoyed reading this one.

Regency lovers, add this book to your list. Never read a regency book? Try this one! While this is @authortiffanyodekirk’s debut novel, it doesn’t feel like a first! It feels like a staple of regency books and it’s not even out yet.

So, I want to start out by saying the pining trope, isn’t my thing. However, Tiffany Odekirk made me fall head over heels with Hannah’s story and her journey.

Reading is a beautiful thing, and as readers sometimes we find books that make us feel like home. Characters and stories come alive and we find comfort and peace within their story for a time. Summerhaven felt that way to me.

Hannah discovered what love looked like throughout this book. How it evolves. The love of friends, romantic love, and love for herself. Wanting what’s best for her.

This book was emotional, beautiful, sweet, honest, and sizzling with chemistry. I already want a physical copy for my shelf. I’m going to put the preorder link in my bio if you want to snatch this gem up.

I have recently become obsessed with this Proper Romance series. They're such great regency closed-door romances, I absolutely adored this - one of my favorite reads of the year so far. I would highly highly recommend.

What is not to love about this book?! Hannah is so sweet and I love the connection she has with her father. She also remembers her mother through music which I love. Hannah goes to Summerhaven expecting to marry Ollie, her childhood sweetheart but his feelings aren't reciprocated. In a ruse to get his attention she courts his older brother, a man she loathes. Feelings start to change and you get a beautiful story with happiness and struggles. Favorite parts: Damon (swoon!), Amelia (she needs a book 😉), Damon and Hannah at the piano, lavender, the kiss, the banter, the childhood memories, the love note, and the end. This book made me smile. Thank you to the author for allowing me to read an advanced copy through Netgalley.

**I received a free copy of this ebook from the publisher via NetGalley. Words and opinions are mine, all mine.**

Recap: Hannah Kent has plans to follow through on a promise she and a childhood friend Oliver Jennings made years ago to marry. When invited to his home to stay for a few weeks she is certain life is following the plotted course.

But nope.

Life rarely happens as planned and Hannah's is no different. Nor is Oliver's or Damon's. Of course! But how? And why? And what will happen before the end?

Lots. And the end was a delightfully new possibility of plot. Thank you, Tiffany Odekirk, for writing a story that had me smiling, rolling my eyes, laughing, grinning, seething, cheering, exclaiming, and unexpectedly pleased. That was a great read.

I raced through this book. That's probably not a kind thing to do when an author and editorial team worked so long and hard on a story, but glory I just couldn't wait to see how the happily ever after came to be.

For the first part I wanted to smack Hannah for reminding me every ten seconds how perfect she and Oliver were for each other. It could have been spaced farther apart, but then I was racing through it you understand so the rapidity was par for my pacing. Didn't care. I could tell a twist was coming.

I was correct. Hooray! Sweet good slow enemies to attraction, except who thought who was the enemy?

And then WHAT? Oh Oliver. And Damon.

Now please, I have some questions about when we get to read the story of a *few* other characters. They were so much fun to meet and I can't wait.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story!  It began with echoes of Edenbrook (Julianne Donaldson) but quickly took on a life of its own.  Tiffany Odekirk has pulled off a creditable love triangle story that leaves the reader cheering for each party involved to find their own happily ever after.  I appreciated that the past history as childhood friends was revisited without distracting from who each of the friends has become.  The ideas of sacrifice, service and responsibility were explored and as a reader, I felt the characters were able to become their best selves through their experiences.  I was kept on the edge of my seat waiting for a happy resolution to the emotional angst caused by outside influences, but I found the conclusion completely satisfying.  Don't miss your chance to visit the beautiful Summerhaven estate!

I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions expressed are completely my own.

Proper Regency romance is one of my favorite comfort genres. I don’t request a lot of ARCs but when a friend compared this to a favorite, I had to grab it!

Summerhaven has so many elements I love from Regency fiction. Marriage choices mucked up by duty and honor. First son, second son struggles. 🤵🏻‍♂️🤵🏼‍♂️ An elegant heroine with good character but a small bank account. ❤️💰A beautiful country home with warm memories. This one has the added element of puzzling out your childhood hopes and dreams compared to the reality that was there all along but you somehow missed, and acknowledging how we, and those we love, change and evolve as we mature. There is real depth and emotional conflict to this story, which makes it a standout for me in the genre.

I absolutely loved this book! I was drawn in from the very beginning and finished the book in nearly one sitting. The plot was unique and complex, but the main characters stole the show. They were so multifaceted and engaging and their interactions were full of wit and tension. It's almost shocking that this is the author's first Regency novel- it's amazing!

**Review will be published on my blog/Instagram/Goodreads February 12th, 2022**

STUNNING.

This is apparently this author’s debut in regency romance? NAILED IT.

I could not get enough of this book and soaked it all up in a day. Books like this remind me why I love this genre.

Wowwwww did I absolutely love Damon. He had many quotable and swoony moments. I loved his clear longing and love for Hannah and from the moment she came back to Summerhaven he was there. He was always there. That’s what my mind keeps drawing back to. All of these tiny nuanced moments where Damon showed his love continually and that swept me up in all the feels. That confession of love? HURT. That sweet ending? BLISS.

I adored Hannah as a main character. I thought she was a bit too oblivious at first, but luckily most of that shook out by the halfway point. Hannah showed the ability to learn and see from other points of view. I appreciated her ability to apologize and acknowledge times that she had made poor choices. It’s all there. With the perfect chemistry and angst, I was here for this romance.

Oddly enough, it had a love triangle that I could get behind. I really liked the way this was approached and handled. I didn’t feel frustrated by it ever. I knew who Hannah was ending up with. I would love a story about the other brother though!!

Anyways, I’m writing this review right after I finished the book so I AM HYPED ABOUT IT AND Y’ALL SHOULD READ IT.

Overall audience notes:
- Regency Romance
- Language: none
- Romance: kisses
- Trigger/Content Warnings: loss of a parent (off page, but grief discussed often)

Tiffany Odekirk's debut regency is absolutely delightful! I have read her contemporary work and I enjoyed them and I was curious to see how her step into the regency era would go. It was great! You should read this book because yes it is a regency romance, but I still was guessing near the end of she would actually end up with the man I wanted her to. I assumed she would because that's how these books work, but I was certain in my belief. Hannah is a fun character and I was intrigued by what things drew her to the various men. I think this story is definitely worth the read! It gave me a lot of hope for the world which I wasn't expecting and I can't even pinpoint why, but if did. Well done!

I got this book as an ARC on NetGalley. I loved this book! Hannah visits the country estate of her childhood friend hoping to rekindle her childhood sweetheart, but is disappointed when he does not reciprocate her feelings. So she hatches a plan with his older brother, and she finds out what true love is. I could not put this book down. The characters and plot were amazing.

Girls don't want flowers for Valentines Day, girls want a copy of Summerhaven.

Reading Summerhaven feels fresh and original but also feels just like coming home. Its one of the most lovely regency romances i've ever read, and not just for the year 2021. Its one you'll want to own a copy of so that you can re read it over and over again. I'm just shocked that this is Tiffany's first regency romance and I hope she writes in this genre again.

"I was pondering whether it was possible to miss something that never belonged to you."

"I know it it is."

Honestly I don't want to spoil a second of this book. Just know going in that it is somewhat of a "love triangle between brothers but done in a really great way. Hannah has great growth as a main character and her slow recognition of her feelings for what her heart wants most is a ride, and you are just THERE for it. It never feels overdone, and the choices made by the characters within the book are organic and feel emotionally real.

I was enchanted, enamored, romanced, felt gutted and emotionally connected to each of these characters at all times. The pacing was spot on and the romance was perfect. It was just full of these moments where you think, YES, this is why I love romance. They were quiet and understated yet bold and meaningful. I ate it up.

Also...a man has never been sexier playing the piano since Edward Cullen (you were there, and you get it so don't try to deny it)

I could go on and on but, this was incredibly good. Don't miss it when it drops this February.

You're welcome.

This story covers a number of tropes but more importantly, it is pretty swoony. In this love triangle, each of the characters is pretty flawed by immaturity, inability to see anything besides what they want to see, jealousy, and/or other's expectations just to name a few. The story has twists and turns and I liked, disliked and felt sorry for each of them at some point or another. Though only two of them get their happily ever after I was left with the hope of the third getting his at some point. Maybe his own book?

I found the story to be enjoyable and loved watching the growth of each of the characters. A great weekend read.

No sex, language or violence

Perfect book for readers that enjoy a slowburn and enemies-to-friends-to-lovers story! Damon is charming and such a sweet romantic- I couldn't wait to see him with Hannah.

This regency romance was absolutely wonderful!
I LOVED the characters! Hannah was so fun and spirited and I loved how honest and up-front she was about her feelings! It was so refreshing!
I loved the plot of this book - friends AND enemies to lovers tropes, fake relationship trope, forbidden love, etc. There were soo many moments that made me truly smile, and so many moments that tugged at my heartstrings! You could feel the tension through the book and you felt like you were THERE!
There were so many great moments that I recorded in my book journal and so many great quotes! This will definitely be a book that I purchase and re-read!

I wasn't sure how well Tiffany Odekirk would transfer from contemporary to regency, but I have been astonished. This new book and genre suit her just as well. It is beautifully written with deep characters and a wonderful plot. She had definitely fulfilled her belief the all stories should have a happy ending. If you love to fall in love with the characters, you will love this book!

Childhood unrequited love. Annoyingly attractive older brothers. Fake courtship. Need I say more? Summerhaven was a delicious regency read from, dare I say, a new favorite regency author. I'm a sucker for fake dating (Give! Me! The! Mutual! Pining! You're! Not! Supposed! To! Have!) and Summerhaven delivered perfectly. I loved the dynamic between Hannah and Damon, and watching their relationship blossom from childhood enemies to romance was muy deliciouso. Plus, this cover? Beautiful. Excited to see what Tiffany Odekirk releases next!

I enjoyed this book. I felt for the characters as they grew and learned, loved and lost. I liked how the author emphasized friendships as well as love interests. It was a read all night, can't put this book down, kind of story!!
