An enjoyable whodunit. A 9 year old murder comes to light again with the finger still pointing at the wrong person, old love rekindled, a sister who has been missing for 24 years. An nice mix of intrigue and 2nd chance love. The who done-it for the old and new murders leads to wondering if Annie and her daughter are safe. Is the new hired help involved or does she have her own nefarious agenda?
I received an ARC copy through NetGalley and the publisher but all opinions are my own.

Edge of Dusk takes us back to Rock Harbor, Michigan (where Colleen Coble’s Rock Harbor Novels are set). Law Enforcement Ranger Annie Pederson is struggling to maintain her Tremolo Marina and Cabin Resort after the deaths of her parents and husband. Struggling to keep it up and running while still doing her job with the Kitchigami Wilderness Preserve, Annie is also trying to raise an eight year old daughter, Kylie, who is still reeling from the loss of her father. The last complication Annie needs now is the return of Jon Dunstan, her former fiancé. Jon has returned to make repairs to his father’s lake cabin before selling it, but seeing Annie again makes him realize that without closure, he’ll never be able to move forward in his life. When the discovery of two bodies in a remote cabin, the bodies of two girls who went missing nine years ago, once again casts suspicion on Jon, he recruits Annie to help him clear his name and find the real killer. But when the investigation puts Annie and Kylie in danger, will the decade old murder remain a cold case or will Jon be able to rescue the woman he once left behind and clear his name?

I was so glad to see that Edge of Dusk was set back in Rock Harbor. I really enjoyed the Rock Harbor Novels, and it was a pleasure to be taken back there for Edge of Dusk and what I hope will be another Rock Harbor series. Edge of Dusk is full of action and mystery. Annie and Jon are characters who are easy to like. Annie has a complicated back story, and reuniting with Jon comes with additional complications. The character of Taylor adds an interesting twist to the story, and I hope that we will get more insight into her in a future book. Overall, I enjoyed reading Edge of Dusk, and I look forward to more Rock Harbor books in the future.

Colleen Coble is BACK with a SERIES set in ROCK HARBOR!!!! Can you tell I'm excited? Add to that the fact that I could not put this book down with all the mystery and suspense, and you know we have a good book.

I loved going back to Rock Harbor and, even though Bree and Kade aren't the MCs anymore, they still feature prominently. And honestly, it is time for someone new. I'm glad everyone from before is around to interact with Annie Pedersen.

Annie witnessed and experienced the traumatic abduction of her sister at a young age and it has been a driving and defining force in her life ever since. A single mom after even more tragedy, she is trying to keep the family business alive, work as a park ranger, and be there for her nine-year-old daughter, Kylie. When her husband's best friend - and her ex-fiance - returns to town, the past has to be dealt with in more ways than one.

This was a good intro to a new series. I enjoyed getting to know Annie and Kylie and Jon. With this book not being a stand-alone, we are building a larger storyline, but this book did have it's own case of a couple of missing girls from many years before. I suspected from the earliest moments about Kylie and I also had suspicions about Taylor too. I did not see the identity of the villain(s). What's interesting about all of this, is that we have similar things going on, but not one person can have done it all. I have some suspicions but will have to wait to see if things go the way I'm thinking.

I will eagerly await the next book in this series!

I loved returning to Rock Harbor in Colleen Coble’s latest novel. The setting is richly detailed. The characters three dimensional with cares and joys. And the layers of mystery are richly drawn.

Wow! what a story.
Annie and Jon have a past together. Jon comes home to sell his dad's property and the past comes back to the present.
Strange things start happening on Annie's property. Vandalism, dead bodies and missing persons. Can Jon and Annie figure out who is behind a past crime before danger sets it's eyes on them?

Colleen Coble definitely knows how to write suspense! There is certainly a lot of it in this book. Annie's sister is kidnapped at the beginning. Then fast forward to when she is an adult. There are campers attacked. Annie has lost her parents and her husband. There were girls kidnapped nine years ago. There is a lot going on....and who is doing it? Her old boyfriend? Someone new? You are constantly kept guessing! Great book!

I am a big author, Colleen Coble fan this is my seventeenth novel by her.
This is Book #1 in the Annie Pederson series.
Annie is a thirty-three year old law enforcement ranger and the Manager of the Tremolo Resort and Marina in Rock Harbor ~ which she inherited when her parents died.
(Note: If you are a [author: Colleen Coble] fan you know that her “Rock Harbor” was a great series!

Annie and her eight-year old daughter Kylie live alone as Annie’s husband died in a suspicious boating accident.

Colleen Coble doesn’t disappoint she comes through with a twist!
Now I have to wait for Book #2 in the Annie Pederson series!!
BTW: I loved all the gluten free options. I have a serious wheat allergy which most people don’t understand however, since ‘gluten free’ is also ‘wheat free’ folks ‘get it’ when I ask for gluten free!

Great book! Loved the characters, plot, and how easily the book flowed.
Annie is struggling to come to terms with being a single mom after her parents and husband were killed in a boating accident. What makes things even harder is when her first love, Jon, returns home to help his dad. But, when Annie finds a body, and starts investigating , things get dangerous. Having Jon around may end up saving Annie's life.
I wish there wasn't such a big cliff hanger at the end. Looking forward to the next book to see how everything turns out.
I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

This is a suspenseful read with a satisfying romantic story. I loved the setting of the upper Peninsula on Lake Superior. I struggled a bit with the protagonist; she is in law enforcement, yet she is constantly getting rescued by the romantic lead. This book is aimed at christian readers, but the spirituality is subtly woven into the plot, and readers of all faiths will enjoy it.

Edge of Dusk by Colleen Coble returns readers to a beloved city of Rock Harbor by Lake Superior. If readers are familiar with this widely popular series, then a number of familiar characters make a reappearance in the story. The romance between Annie, the heroine, and Jon, the hero, is a romance with a past. It denies the past feeling and wants to move forward without really falling into the trap of the past emotions but fails miserably at this. As for the plot, I wanted more focus on solving the two dead bodies. The bodies are found, then the story focuses on Annie and Jon and all the issues that occur around them. Yes, there is some searching, but not enough to really capture the readers’ attention. I believe I, personally, wanted more forensic to make the story more of a hunt for the truth. On the other hand, Coble’s writing is wonderful and I enjoyed the overall story. There is a hint from the opening chapter of an overarching mystery that took place a long time ago in Annie’s life. I can’t wait to see what happens with this story thread. Overall, Edge of Dusk by Colleen Coble is a hunt for justice as Annie and Jon finding the budding and growing emotions racing through the memories from the past.

I received a complimentary copy of Edge of Dusk by Colleen Coble from Thomas Nelson Publishing, but the opinions stated are all my own.

A new series by Colleen Coble starts with "A Edge of Dusk" and thanks to Netgalley and Thomas Nelson I was able to read it early.

This one leaves you wanting more. I enjoyed this one, but it did take a bit to get into the story. Once I got into the story, I couldn't put it down. Now I can't wait to get to the next one.

I do wish that some of the story didn't wait until the end to find out. But leaving it to the end will get you ready for the next book. This series, I think would be great to have the whole series to read at one time.

Another fun return to Rock Harbor from Coble. Fans will recognize old friends among the new mysteries. I found the ending of this book a bit abrupt with big reveals and no time for the characters to respond or process them--this might be one to wait to read until you have the whole series at hand.

Collen Coble takes us back to Rocky Harbor. Her Rocky Harbor series was the first romantic/suspense series I have read by Colleen Coble. The first book came out in 2003. Bree and Kade and their friends are in this book but as background characters. This series introduces us to Annie Pederson, her daughter Kylie and Annie's first love Jon Dustan. This book started out in the first chapter with Annie as a nine year old and her younger sister had been kidnapped. Fast forward to the present time and Jon has entered her life again after nine years. Some bodies are discovered in an abandoned cabin. We find out in the end who the murderer is but the mystery continues concerning her sister Laura. Like all of Collen Coble's books this one was filled with suspense that kept me on edge. Could not wait to finish and I definitely can't wait until the next book is released so we will find out more about the mystery surrounding Laura her sister.

I received this book through Netgalley and the publisher. All the opinions expressed are my own and I was not compensated.

A Edge Of Dusk, by Colleen Coble, starts out with Annie Penderson’s memory of the kidnapping of her younger sister. Now she is living near her hometown with her young daughter and you get a sense that danger may be close by. When Annie finds a dead body floating in Lake Superior, you know you must be ready for a suspense-filled tale!

When Jon Dustan, Annie’s first love, shows up on the streets of Rock Harbor, Annie does all she can to avoid him. After Annie discovers the remains of two teenage girls, she fears that Jon will get pulled into the investigation!

In the attempt to discover how and why these girls were killed, the story of Annie’s sister’s kidnapping resurfaces. You will not believe it when you learn who is behind it all!

This book was sent to me by Netgalley electronically for review. This is a quick read with likable characters. The protagonist lives to protect her daughter...while wondering if she can get back together with her long ago boyfriend. With a cadre of friends and coworkers, she works to keep her life safe/and her daughter/while her enemies are surrounding her...this author weaves a story that is amazing...I enjoy her books and look forward to reading more in this series. A cliffhanger at the end... I enjoyed the setting...

I received an arc from NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.
Jon returns to the UP of MI and Annie sees him through a Dr’s office window. She was so in love with him years ago but college plans got in the way.
As Jon starts fixing up the cabin to sell, Annie starts investigating a cold case. This cold case though pulls both Jon and her in. Jon is a suspect and Annies sisters disappearance plays into the plot as well.
Definitely a page turner and a beautiful second chance Christian romance. My only concern is why leave the story hanging with Laura side of the story.. I hope the next book goes into Laura’s story.

Edge Of Dusk has many plot lines running through. The characters are flawed and complicated. The romance starts off slow. Which is how I personally like it to start.

At first, I was unsure if I could come to like this, Jon Dunstan. But as I continued reading, I realized he was one of the good guys. The one who steps in and takes charge when needed. The one who comes through when you you're not sure whom to trust.

The story ended abruptly. Which makes me HOPE that it will continue in other books to come.

Annie is park law enforcement, owns her family's lodge and a single mom. Life is busy. But when her ex-fiance returns and bodies are found, life goes way past busy. First in a new series.
