I have always loved Danielle Steel's books. Lately, I feel like the books are rushed and not much character development and not much interaction between characters. I just feel like she rushes through the books to get so many out per year. This has made me sad, I have loved her earlier books.

High Stakes" is a novel by Danielle Steel. It tells the story of a young woman named Olympia Stanford who becomes embroiled in the high-stakes world of horse racing. As Olympia navigates the challenges of the male-dominated industry and works to prove herself as a capable trainer, she faces personal and professional obstacles along the way. With its themes of ambition, determination, and the pursuit of dreams, "High Stakes" is a compelling read that captures the excitement and glamour of the horse racing world.

High Stakes quickly became one of my favorite books by Danielle Steel! High Stakes is about 4 incredible women who refuse to settle for less. Jane, Hailey, Francine and Allie may be as different as night and day but I felt like I got to know them. I laughed, cried and cheered for each woman and even saw a little of myself in them. High Stakes is about ambitions, goals, determination and friendship.

Five women. Five stories. One agency. One dirtbag boss.
WOW! The great thing about this story is that it embraces the #metoo movement, without exploiting it, instead - it gives us a glimpse into the different ways that people of power can abuse their "underlings". I enjoyed getting to know the characters and their back stories - and that enabled me to SEE how they each came into the positions that they were in. I had a love hate relationship with one character and I"m still on the fence about whether I like her or not lol Thoroughly enjoyed the come-uppance at the end! I'm a huge Danielle Steel fan, auto add her new titles to my TBR list even before checking out the synopsis ;) This title was supplied by Netgalley in digital format in exchange for an honest review.

We followed 5 women who worked together in a literary agency. They face sexual harassment, martial problems and more.  This book took place during the Me too movement.  The ending seem to wrap up to quick for my tatste. Overall, it was a decent read.

Another great book. So easy to read and her book make you anxious to turn to the next page. So realistic and her characters always remind you of someone you know. So exciting I couldn't stop reading until I got to the end. Looking forward to her next book!

Danielle Steel is an auto-read author. A quick read and kind of relevant that makes the story relatable and interesting.

Live Ms. Steel’s books. This one was no exception. Jane is ready for the world . She starts a new job she meets other women at the talent agency and soon realizes they all must conform to what the higher men in this business wants. Her and her friends must not let them in and change who they are. They must fight back to keep their dignity!!

Danielle Steel is an author I pick up without reading the blurb. She always gives you a story that is well written and a good read. This book is very relevant in today's world with sexual misconduct in the work place as the topic. 4 women are working at a publishing house and when Jane starts work she blows the whistle when one of the partners grabs her and then threatens her. She has no idea how the other women in the office have been terrorized. I liked the characters and how they all handled the process.

This is a fitting book given the #metoo movement and seemed like a departure from Danielle Steel's typical writing. The female characters were relatable and well-written. The men were detestable. This was a quick read that handled a tough topic well, without making the reader too uncomfortable.

I don’t know how I’ve made it this far in life without reading a Danielle Steel before. I loved it! The Me Too storyline was both interesting and relevant to the current times. This may have been my first book by the author, but it certainly won’t be my last!

High Stakes follows several female employees at a literary agency who are subjected to sexual harassment and become involved in the MeToo movement. While each woman is at a different stage in her career, they have each experienced different levels of harassment.

It's an important topic to cover, however, I didn't like how some characters got involved with each other leaving one to question why Ms. Steel chose to do that when not doing so would have given the situation more credibility. I enjoyed the book, but wasn't a fan of the employee involvement with each other.

I give Ms. Steel credit for touching upon an important topic and addressing each women's story with compassion.

Then there’s Francine Rivers, head of the literary department, who gives off Miranda vibes from The Devil Wears Prada. Danielle Steel never disappoints with any of her books. I have always been a fan of her books and this one is no different. It seems like Danielle Steel always finds a way to capitalize on the major issues that are happening in the world during the time she is writing and this story is no different.

This story follows the lives of 5 women in a literary agency that deal with tons of different issues. The two top people in the agency are men and of course one of them tries to use his position to be able to do what he wants to women. This story follows along with the "Me Too" movement that has taken place with many of the major agencies in our society today. These women deal with marital problems, work related issues as well as trying to raise kids for some of them while trying to keep up their professional lives.

When a new, younger girl is hired at the agency, the man that is in a higher position, takes advantage of his position and tries his tactics with her almost immediately. Jane is from a well off family and is not worried about if she looses her job and threatens to go to the police if he ever tries anything with her again. Apparently he doesn't believe her and thinks that the threat of firing her will keep Jane quiet but it doesn't.

When Jane goes to the police about what has been going on in the office, she starts a domino effect of women that come forward with what he has been doing to them as well, some as long as 10 years. Things start to chance in the office as soon as the main problem is gone. These women all have a common bond but they don't want to hang on to what has happened to them at the agency. You will enjoy reading Danielle Steel's take on the "Me Too" movement in this read.

This book follows the #metoo movement. This book follows Jane, a young woman who gets a job at a talent and literacy agency. First, impressed by how all these women have achieved such high positions and seem to have it all, she quickly learns that one of the bosses thinks its okay to touch the women as he pleases. The plot then follows what happens next.

A good story that follow a relevant issue in today's world.

High Stakes follows four women at a talent agency in NY. They are all at different stages in their lives and careers. I really had high hopes for this book but was deeply disappointed at the amount of sex, cheating, and assault. Additionally, the writing of the book made me feel like I was reading a long summary rather than an actual story.
