I really enjoyed this story, I thought the narrator was great as well. It’s a very easy to follow holiday romance and while it’s predictable I don’t think that took away from my enjoyment. I would definitely recommend it!

His for the Holidays
By Samantha Chase

Hannah comes home from Thanksgiving feeling defeated and not worthy of her family of Doctors. She loves her family but can not deal with the feeling that she has let them all down by becoming a designer which she loves. So she comes home with tins full of homemade cookies ready to work on a proposal for a new promotion. On her way up to her apartment the elevator breaks down and she is stuck with the hunky tenant that lives upstairs Gage. Over cookies and wine they get to know each other better and Hannah helps Gage come up with a plan to help elude his family who keeps trying to set him up women he has no interest in. After some disappointing news, Hannah ends up helping Gage with his Christmas deception. This is a cute light-hearted story that will give you warm fuzzies on a cold Winters day. A little predictable but still a great story. I enjoyed listening to the narrator who helped bring the story to life.

*3.5 STARS*

HIS FOR THE HOLIDAYS is a sweet contemporary romance that will put you in the exact right mood for the holiday season.

Hannah and Gage get stuck in an elevator together and Gage shares that his family is inappropriately trying to get him married. Hannah's family doesn't respect that fact that she's an interior decorator instead of a doctor.

Hannah says she is up for a great job that will keep her very busy, otherwise she would offer to make Gage's family think that he was in a relationship for the holidays.

But when circumstances change, Hannah and Gage end up traveling to see his mother and sisters for the holidays and convince them that the two of them are in a relationship.

But by the end of the visit, it's Gage and Hannah that are going to have be convinced that relationship isn't real.

This story was cute if a bit predictable. I thought the narrator did an excellent job of bringing the story to life. But, I thought some of the dialogue was just a bit cheesy.

I enjoyed Gage's family and the shenanigans that they got up to.

Even though the storyline was predictable, it was the a great holiday romance and that really got you in the mood to celebrate.

I loved listening to this story, even though I listened after the holidays were over. I was still just as engaged with this book (if not more!) compared to my other holiday reads. The story was refreshing. Finally a romance novel where the characters actually have chemistry! Yes, the story was predictable but that didn't stop me wanting to know just what Hannah or Gage would do next. I would definitely recommend this book to other romance lovers.. Thank you NetGalley for giving me access to this book in exchange for an honest review.

This one was super cute! A little too cheesy but I love a good hallmark moment! The chemistry between Hannah and Gage is just too cute! I love them together. This book has a little bit of everything, stuck together trope, fake dating, and a happy ending!! Would definitely recommend this one as a cute Christmas romance!

When you are in your mid-to-late-twenties in a romance novel, you are likely either going to be already successful or just about to get that Big Promotion. Hannah Christy is in the latter group. She is an interior designer who spent most of Thanksgiving and the last month getting ready for a big presentation that is going to guarantee her a new position according to her boss. The last thing she needs is to be trapped in an elevator. In her comfy traveling clothes. And especially with her Very Attractive neighbor. But she gets to know him, finds out he has an overly interfering family, and suggests he needs a fake relationship. Oh, not her! she is much too busy. Then she finds out that one of her scheming coworkers has secured the contract that she was supposed to get and her promotion is now off the table. Instead, she has a few weeks of paid (forced) vacation. She still isn't going to help but then she meets his mother and sister and impulsively steps in.
Gage Lawson is immediately attracted to Hannah and he hopes for a longer relationship but he will take what he can get, especially if that means that Hannah will come with him to his family Christmas which they are having a few days before the calendar date.
As the two are spending time together, getting to know each other, Gage falls more and more in love and Hannah becomes more despairing because she is guaranteed a move (either staying with her current company and taking a job in another state or finding another job completely which means she'll have to leave because there are no jobs in Raleigh).
I didn't love that Hannah kept throwing up roadblocks. It seemed artificial in a woman who was otherwise shown as being mostly together. She has a Big Realization about herself at the end but... it's not something we've either seen or heard about anywhere else in the story. Gage was a nice guy with enough flaws that save him from being too perfect. A fast, fun, and fluffy book for the holiday season but not a lot of depth and from introduction to proposal is about two months. Cottle, the narrator, really elevated the story and made it a fun listen.

His For the Holidays by Samantha Chase
Contemporary romance.
Hannah and Gage get stuck in their apartment building elevator during a local pier outage. They share wine, cookies and getting to know you stories. A Truth or Dare game has Hannah proposing that she be his date at a holiday event to prevent his family from trying to set him up.

An adorable new relationship story where family falls just as fast as the hero.
A perfect holiday romance with decorations, kisses and hot chocolate. And pajamas.
Very low heat level.
4.5

I listened to an audiobook version narrated by Elizabeth Cottle. She did a wonderful job making two distinct voices for the main characters and minor variations for others. Emotions came through the performance clearly. I listened to this at 1.3 which I found was the most comfortable conversation speed.

I received an audiobook copy of this book from NetGalley and Dreamscape Media. Opinions are my own.

Boy meets girl while trapped in an elevator - for hours. They have enough in common they feel they can successfully pull off a fake relationship for the holidays. After all, it will get their families out of their hair, and no one will be the wiser. No harm no foul, unless you fall in love for real. Excellent narration by Elizabeth Cottle. A fun holiday read.

Cute and sweet holiday romance. Well used tropes but they are well used because readers like them. Narrator was very good except her children’s voices were annoying.

This is the story of two people getting stuck in an elevator together, and coming out of that jam with a plan to make the holidays more fun. Somewhere along the way, while they are acting as each other's plus-ones for holiday events, they fall in love! This holiday romance was cute and sweet and I loved the uplifting nature of it. I would recommend it to anyone who loves Hallmark holiday movies!

His for the Holidays By Samantha Chase is a perfect story to bring up your spirit. The story is very well detailed. Samantha description makes you feel like your taking part in the story beside the hero and heroine.
Hero is Gage. Heroine is Hannah.
Gage is getting frustrated by all the plans his family is trying to get him hooked . You see Gage and Hannah starting out a plan for a fake Engagement. They think they are helping out each other . Gage thinking it will get his family off his back.
What starts off as fake and they see how they connect turns into something real

Give me all of the Hallmark types of Christmas books during the holidays, please!

His for the Holidays was my first book by Chase and I can happily say it will not be my last. I've scrolled through her lists of books and am excited to start one of her series!

His for the Holidays was a perfect book to read by the Christmas tree this year. I enjoyed the ease of the story and the development of the characters. Finding yourself stuck in an elevator with your hunky neighbor, well good thing you brought cookies! This charming story starts like others where families are pressuring the characters to find love, so they decide to pretend to be a couple and the story begins...will it end in love? Well it ending up with me loving this quick read!

I'm looking forward to reading one of her previous books in 2022!

#hisfortheholidays by @samanthachaseromance is what I listened to this past week between Christmas and New Years and since this book takes place over a few weeks leading up to NYE and is centered around having a gf for the holidays, it was the perfect fit for this time! Narrated by @elizabeth_cottle_ excellently - flawlessly changing voices i really thought there were a few narrators. I love it when a narrator can make male/female voices and have it sound so natural and flawless, and Elizabeth delivered on that! This story is a trope that i truly love - two ppl - usually just acquaintences or mere strangers (or those stuck in the FZ) decide to get their families off their backs over the holidays about getting married, and decide to go to each other's christmas parties. These two adorable characters met while stuck in an elevator together and two tins of cookies and a bottle of wine later, have each decided they definitely are attracted to each other! Gage asks Hannah to be his fake gf for the holidays, they become fast triends and lovers and then....the expected happens. But Hannah has big plans about her career and it creates the needed tension this story needs to not collapse into the cheesy predictable romance category. Im not known for reading romance but i do appreciate it now and then. Funny that I should read of two ppl at the beginning of a relationship whilst quietly ending my own didnt escape my consciousness in its irony...but I still have that girlish dream of romance ingrained in my soul and so this was a delightful way to live some romance via Hannah and Gage. ❤️ Many thanks to @netgalley and @dreamscape_media for allowing the listen in exchange for a review. I totally enjoyed this comfy cosy Christmasy romance, and you would too - check this one out - its a mere 5 hours but you'll be totally immersed in it 🥳

This was a light and predictable romance. It's exactly the kind of cute holiday story I love. I can't get enough of fake romances at the holidays so this was right up my alley.

If you want a cute romance with a happy ending, this is for you.

HIS FOR THE HOLIDAYS was my first novel by Samantha Chase and it won’t be the last! I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED it!
I received the audiobook courtesy of Dreamscape Media and NetGalley a couple days ago. I had to pace myself so I wouldn’t finish it too soon. I didn’t want it to end. I can only hope there will be a sequel…
The story is charming, the characters interesting, the setting perfect for a Christmas story and the narrator is excellent. You won’t be disappointed!

Cute holiday romance that begins with being trapped in an elevator with wine and cookies to deciding a fake relationship will help out with some family dynamics over the holidays. I enjoyed the story and the characters with the fun of the holiday season. The description of hot cocoa cookies made me look for a recipe for them!
