I’ve read several of Jackson Pearce’s young adult novels, and was excited to get my hands on her first adult fiction book.

I really wanted to like this book a lot more than I did. The characters were hard to connect with and the story line was a bit vapid. I also have a quibble with the religion aspect of Val and Remy’s childhood. At first they were supposed to be a cult like religion and then it seems they grew up Southern Baptist or Assembly of God? Neither of those denominations forbid medical intervention, or kiss their fingers before leaving church, or scream prayers at people. It’s just inaccurate, confusing, and mildly insulting.

Many thanks to Sourcebooks Casablanca and NetGalley for this digital ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I started out thinking I wouldn't like this book because of the slow start at the beginning but it got better pretty quick. I liked how the entire book was from Remy's perspective (male character). Usually it's from the girl's perspective or both people. This made it a little different in my opinion. Remy and Vivi work together and become friends, and the ending was a sweet one. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the advanced reader copy.

2.5 stars.
The character i enjoyed in this story was Remy, but it was not enough to give it more stars or hold up the story. Because he and Vivi had no chemistrt whatsoever. Vivi was boring and uinteresting.

CW: deeply religious parents, neglect medical care of sibling due to religious beliefs, substance addiction (side-character), bullying my paparazzi, discussions of diet and exercise, cheating (physical and emotional)

I would recommend if you're looking for (SPOILERS)

-m/f contemporary romance
-celebrity romance
-slooooow burn
-close-proximity
-dual timelien

This was wonderful and I loved it. Thinly veiled and inspired by T Swift this was my catnip and I ate it up. Told entirely from the MMC, Remy's, POV I really enjoyed the contrast of where his career was and Vivi's. It was such a smart choice to really see the impact of celebrity and the pressures it puts on people from the outside looking in.

Remy was such a dynamic narrator. I really enjoyed his relationship with his brother, His past growing up in a super religious community and how that impacted his choices in life. How he slowly, accidentally fell for Vivi, while peeking inside her world. Tons of easter eggs for us T Swift fans but also not exactly aligned either. The third act had me breathless. I loved the way these two tried to resolve things through music which is so important to both of them.

Honestly just a great read and just what I needed.

The Taylor Swift fan in me wanted to love this more, but the avid reader in me was just disappointed.

Jackson Pearce's Six Ways to Write a Love Letter is a romance written around stardom and the consequences of this. Written from Remy's point of view, we get glimpses of Remy's childhood and what influences the way he perceives the world. It explains how he and his brother, Val, start their band, end up without a contract and how Remy ends up as a producer. We get all of the glimpses of how Remy falls for Vivi, the star for who he is temporary drumming for as an opportunity to get more producing gigs. Vivi is very strict with maintaining her image and reputation but she falls for Remy while working with him. Typically ups and downs occur but eventually the couple does find each other. I think I would have understood more if we had some of Vivi's perspectives to really understand why she is so guarded and strict with maintaining this specific image.

This took a while to get going. I actually almost DNF'd this at first. But then once the tour started going, it became a lot more fun. The story stumbled a little near the finish line, with the way it all got resolved in the end, but it was mostly just fine.

Was this meant to come across as Taylor Swift fanfic though? Because that's what it sort of read like at times. Not that that's necessarily a bad thing. It felt very realistic.

I also like the fact that the entire story is told from Remy's POV. I feel like most straight romance stories are double POV these days, or single POV told from the female main character's perspective. So living through this story from Remy's side of things was a nice change of pace.

I got the e-ARC through Netgalley in exchange of an honest review. All opinions ahead are based only on my experience reading the book.

I was excited to read it? Absolutely
However I must admit it was rather hard to empathized with Vivi and the lack of her pov really didn't help. From then everything else was hard to conect with and went downhill.

Thanks again Netgalley and the publisher for the chance.

This story was beautifully written and I enjoyed it so much. It's a lovely romance, and a beautiful love story. There is also a fantastic sub plot surrounding the development of improvement of sibling relationships that, as a sibling, was beautiful to read and felt true to life.

Los hombres no saben escribir romance. LO DIJE.
Me costo DEMASIADO conectar con el protagonísta.
La historia no se entendía del todo porque el autor, no es que no escriba bien, pero dios, NO SABE ESCRIBIR ROMANCE.

📖Book Review📖
Six Ways to Write a Love Letter by Jackson Pearce
My Rating:🌟🌟🌟🌟/5

Book reviews says that if you love Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus, this book is for you. I am fine and not too crazy about Miley, well.. since Hannah Montana and that was just because I have a daughter but I do love Taylor Swift!

Six Ways to Write a Love Letter is a bittersweet romantic novel about a pop star Vivi Swan and her life under the public spot light. Just like Miley and Taylor and the way they react to how people see them becomes an inspiration to fuel their art!

Vivi has a long string of ex-lovers with whom the media knows that were the subject of her songs(sound familiar?) found herself once again in a rocky relationship while on tour but for some reason to deal with this latest breakup is a less of a trouble but more of a relief. Thanks to her fill-in drummer that is so willing to work with her on her songs! Yes, colabs in music is also a collaboration of hearts!

I am really surprise of how sweet and good this book make me feel. I enjoyed the premise and the romance is just right!

Special thanks to Netgalley and Sourcebooks for the copies to review.

If you love Daisy Jones and the Six, Opal and Nev, Songs in Ursa Major, this romantic take on the lives of music artist is a breath of fresh air! Grab yourselves a copy and enjoy the show.

To all of the fans of Taylor Swift or Miley Cyrus, this book is for you. It’s the perfect romance book to read if you are looking for a misunderstood singer falling in love. We will never know how much a singer goes through in the public eye. But this book will give us some previews of how the public eye affects them and their relationships.

I truly felt for Vivi. She really tries her best in her career and her personal life as well. But it’s never easy when you are in the public eye, especially in a relationship. Relationships are always the hardest for Vivi. And it’s going to be harder when she starts falling for Remy.

Remy, and Vivi may be total opposites from each other, but yet, they make more sense together. Their connection is really true, especially when they are writing music together. It brings them closer when they are expressing their thoughts and feelings.

Thanks NetGalley and publisher for the e-ARC in exchange of an honest review.

At first I didn't know that this book is inspired--based(?)-- on Taylor Swift, but I can pick the references quite easily. I thinks this is a very interesting take of the music industry, the princess pop-star who always have hits based on her relationship and a subtitute drummer-slash-producer from the indie rock band who's struggling to make a second hit. touring together. I rarely read a romance book with a male character POV only on it, so it's refreshing to me, though it makes me craving for Vivi's POV too. I absolutely love the music talks, shows, and the story of how they create the song and it's progress. I also like Val characters and the Young brothers' backstory! Though the ending was quite rushed (at least for me) and feels fairy-tale like, I found myself enjoying this book a lot. Overall rate: 4/5

P.S: I want to read Val's story if the author ever has thinking about one!

Many thanks to the publisher for approving me to read this early! 3/5 stars overall.
This review will be short as this book was disappointing for the most part. Almost all of my July reads followed that pattern though. I did not know that Six Ways To Write a Love Letter was inspired by Taylor Swift. But as soon as I started reading it, I caught the references! I got really excited as I am a huge, huge fan. I mean literally, if Ms. Swift had 5 fans only, I'd definitely be one of them.

That's exactly why I am so sad that I did not enjoy this one. I waited and waited for Vivi's POV but that never came. The plotline needed Vivi's POV to flesh things out, so everything felt a bit incomplete to me. The stereotyping and everything got too much for me at times. To be honest, I couldn't warm up to Remy as much as I wanted to. I liked some of the conversations that Vivi and Remi shared though. The ending was pretty great as well. Cheesy for sure, but Vivi deserved it. :') I really liked how the book explored different sides of the music industry. I skimmed through some music-based paragraphs though - those made the story slow-paced in my opinion.

Overall, this was a good book, but I had higher expectations. I really enjoyed the author's writing, so I might check out some of her other or future works!

Thank you to NetGalley for an ARC of this book!

This book is a fun read; most people will definitely enjoy it! I particularly loved reading about what life is like on tour for the protagonist. The beginning was a little slow, but picked up in a nice way. I think overall, the book was fine, but the ending felt very unresolved. There also seemed to be a discrepancy in the reciprocation of feelings between the two main characters that was hard to get over. I'd still recommend this book to people who like romance!

I wasn't able to get into this book very much because it was told in Remy's POV. That's an interesting concept and one not really done often so kudos to the author for being different. But that said, usually a dual POV is good, in my opinion, because it frames the characters better and in this case, I think Vivi needed it. That said, it was a bit plodding in the beginning, got a bit better towards the middle and end and finally, I felt like it was a good story overall. Thanks to NetGalley, the publisher and author for this read.

Kind of sad after reading this, I wanted to love this, but I just couldn’t.
I was just not engaged. I know I picked this up because of the TS aspect. I didn’t like that it was basically one POV, the stereotyping and all and all just so much drama. The miscommunication, the cheating, all of it just made me negative where I was looking forward to something deep that leads to an upbeat, makes me wanna fall in-love type of romance. Serious topics are discussed, which is needed, but water them down for me later with some fluffy romance. By the end, everything felt rushed and squeezed in, and grand gestures replace actually talking about their issues. Afterwards I was like, these two won’t last. And that’s not the type of love story I want to read about, you know?

Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC.
