I always love Jill Mansell books. They are quick, light reads, but this one took me awhile to get into. There were a lot of characters and story lines to keep track of and I wasn't really invested in any of them. Slow burn but overall ended up being a cute story.

Jill Mansell books are always a bit different but always a good read. I loved how the three friends had difficult beginnings but thanks to two lovely foster parents, Teddy and May, they blossomed and remained friends. When May dies the friends encourage Teddy to go on a cruise where he meets Olga - is she genuine or a gold digger?

All the characters had good stories running through the book and I loved the artist, whose masterpieces were an acquired taste. I also loved Benji, her son, I so wanted him to blossom and have the life he deserved. We were treated to medical emergencies, parties, wonderful restaurant food and above all love and friendship. I would recommend the book.

I loved every page of this book. It is the story of three adults who grew up in the same loving foster home and remained best friends. This book is the story of Amber, Lachlan, Raffaele, plus a whole cast of characters in their small town.

The three main characters in Should I Tell You really love their foster parents and after May dies they remain close to Teddy and encourage him to go on a cruise to have some fun. When Teddy finally goes on the cruise he makes many friends, including the beautiful Olga who comes home with him and must win over Amber, Lachlan, and Raffaele.

This is just one love story in this book, there are several. Plus the many plot twists and stories in this book, which make up the character of the town.

I found this book well developed and fun to read. It was also hard to put down and I would recommend it to everyone who love reading about happily ever after.

First of all, I'm grateful to NetGalley for making this ARC available to me in exchange for my objective review.

Oh dear... I really, really wanted to love this book as I usually love Mansell's stories. However, I just couldn't connect with any of the characters, both main and supporting. I found them all manipulative or just plain annoying. I made it about a third of the way through the book and then skimmed until the end.

Sorry, Ms. Mansell, I've loved all of your recent books but couldn't get into this one at all. I hope your other readers feel differently and I look forward to reading your next book.

The sweet story had two great main characters and several well-developed supporting characters. I expected this to be a lighter read but I was impressed by the depth of certain storylines. Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the eARC!

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for this eARC.

Should I Tell You? by Jill Mansell is a story about love, friendship and parenthood set in a small town called Lanrock. The writing was good and the story flowed well throughout. Although, I did feel that there were too many characters and it was a little overwhelming to keep track of all of their stories. The characters were loveable but nothing in particular or unique about them that made me root for them, including the main characters and their romance. In my opinion, the pacing was slow and towards the end it was a struggle to finish especially because the plot was too predictable. I did love that fact that the chapters were short which helped me finish the book. Although, it was a welcome break from dark fantasy and thrillers, I’m afraid this wasn’t the author’s best work as I’ve previously enjoyed her other books much more.

Thank you NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for the eARC.
What a lovely break from mysteries and psychological reads, it was a perfect feel good book with such a very happy ending that kept the smile on my face for the rest of the evening.
Three best friends who were fostered by a sweet, loving couple were devastated by the loss of their foster mother, leaving her husband heartbroken. But he goes on a cruise and meets a flamboyant Russian women, Olga, and falls unexpectedly in love again. The three friends are worried she's a gold digger.
There are quite a few characters in this book, all utterly likeable. But my favorites were Olga and Peggy, the painter who has no idea why people won't buy her paintings. Both of them are irrepressible and made me smile.
It's a lovely book and definitely recommended!

Obviously, I LOVED it, because Jill Mansells books are always brilliant. I am sure she posted once that she still handwrites them all - how fabulous is that? Anyway, this one has taken on some modern day dating issues with online dating, and gold diggers. I really didn’t know how it would end - I trusted that I would get a happy ending, but I wasn’t sure what that would look like for Teddy or Benje. It was a really nice mix of predictability with some curve balls and unknowns.

The book is set in Cornwall, not far from where I live, so I enjoyed a few mentions of my home town, Plymouth. Lanrock was an easy setting to visualise whilst reading.

There is only one thing I found bizarre - I was not sure why a character took acetaminophen…. The author is from Bristol, the book is set a couple of hours away from there, so why use an American term? Unless this is to include American readers?

If I counted correctly, this is Jill Mansells 33rd book. Her first was published in 1991! I have read every single one of them. They all transport you to a place where you can believe in happy endings, and that the world is a nicer place than real life sometimes leads us to believe. And, isn’t that what reading is all about? Julia Roberts once said “I want the Fairytale”, and Jill Mansell has written it - now I want it too!

A typical Jill Mansell novel full of interesting characters, a delightful story and fun twists.

I'm a huge fan of Jill Mansell's novels so was massively excited to read her new one and it didn't disappoint! I finished it in a day.

The characters were captured perfectly, each one distinguishingly different from the next, but none less likeable. There are quite a lot of characters but all of them have a purpose in the overall arch of the plot. The storyline kept me engaged from the start with lots of interesting twists and turns.

I also loved the sunny Cornish setting. Pure escapism.
