A fun read with relatable characters. The books keep kids enthralled and asking for more. Hoping for more in the series as this is a book series my kids keep asking for more. If you're looking for a middle school aged book series for kids who like adventure/mystery, this is perfect.

This series is awesome, my son loved listening to me read them. I'm definitely buying these to go on his bookshelf. Great books for boys.

These project adventure books are great! They revolve around two boys and the kids they meet while solving mysteries in their club “project adventure”. The first book, Heart of the Island, sets readers up for the remainder of the series and tells how the main characters Matt and Ethan know each other and begin to solve mysteries together. The books are interesting and engaging for middle grade readers. The content is generally appropriate for this age level, though there are a few words some parents might not let their kids say ex. hell, there is no sex, violence or mature content. The text is a little bit high level for this grade range, definitely more in the grade 5-7 range but families of younger middle grade readers may want to consider reading it together. I teach Grade 3/4 and would consider putting this series in my class library and reading them as read alouds. The stories cover themes of perseverance, working together, and often have content that could tie in to science or social studies units, for example bats, animals, maps. I think this will be a great series for middle grader readers and am glad I got the chance to read and review the book through Netgalley and the publisher!
