This is one of my favorite romantic comedies I’ve ever read. It’s completely unique and it doesn’t feel like there’s anything else out there like it. I’ve read a LOT of books and this one stands out thanks the the premise and plot. 10/10!

Christina Lauren trades their usual rom-com glitter for desert dust and treasure maps in this book, and the result is a fast-paced, twisty ride through Utah’s canyonlands. Lily Wilder, the tough-as-nails daughter of a legendary (and unreliable) treasure hunter, leads fake expeditions for tourists—until her ex, Leo Grady, shows up with his buddies for a trip. Soon their staged treasure hunt turns into a *real* hunt for Butch Cassidy’s lost fortune. The romance takes a backseat to the action (a departure from CLo’s usual style), but the tension between Lily and Leo—fueled by past heartbreak and unresolved longing—keeps the emotional stakes high. Some twists stretch believability, but the fun outweighs the flaws. (Also, Walter, Leo’s adorably nerdy friend, deserves his own spin-off.)
Thanks to NetGalley and Gallery Books for the ARC!

Something Wilder by Christina Lauren is a fun and adventurous romance. With a mix of treasure hunting, second chances, and witty banter, it’s an entertaining and lighthearted read. Perfect for a fun escape!

The authors describe it as Romancing the Stone meets The Hangover, and you'll understand when you read it! Pure escapism, different from the authors usual style but a fun summer romance.

This was SO FUN!!! Christina Lauren knows how to write a hit. I genuinely felt like I was watching a movie while reading this book .. COUGH COUGH @AMAZON @NETFLIX. This is very unlike me, but I rather enjoyed that the romance took a backseat compared to the treasure hunting/action. This is def not their usual vibe, but I thoroughly enjoyed. Thank you for the ARC!

“At least you’ll have choices in front of you, which is the only thing I want for you. Most of all, I just don’t want you to end up with a life half-lived.”
Something Wilder is the newest contemporary romance by Christina Lauren which follows the story of Lily Wilder, Leo Grady, and an adventure-filled week in Utah. I went into this blind and expecting a typical romance story however I will say the romance is really a secondary plot throughout this book. The primary plot is about an off-the-grid adventure guide tour turned intense treasure hunt 💰 There is drama, twists, and violence as Lily, Leo, and their friends go off in search of treasure rumored to have been found years ago by Lily’s father, Duke Wilder.
One of my biggest complaints about this book was the third person POV. I felt like we could’ve gotten so much more about the actual romance storyline if we were getting candid thoughts from Lily and Leo. Additionally, as this is a second chance romance, I wanted more of the original 5 months L&L spent together before their nearly decade long time apart.
Overall this was a really fun and adventure filled read!

This was not my favorite Christina Lauren. the romance did not connect as deeply as her other books, so it just wasn’t as memorable to me. A 3.5

I didn’t live this, I wish the was more romantic development between the two characters and tension. They jumped forward in their relationship quickly and it seemed to come out of nowhere.

Something Wilder by Christina Lauren is a perfect fit for readers who crave a thrilling adventure filled with treasure hunting, second chances, and romance, and are looking for a heartwarming and hilarious story that will take them on a wild ride through the breathtaking American Southwest.

1 star. Did not finish! The plot and characters just did not do it for me. Just not a fan of cowboy books.
Thank you NetGalley.

Some interesting turns and pretty decent character development. I enjoyed the main character in particular how smart she was.

Action, adventure AND a sexy romance?!?! THANK YOU, CHRISTINA LAUREN. This book reads so fast, and it's so addictive!! When it got to the last few chapters it started being twist after twist I was ENTHRALLED! Oh, and lastly: Nic and Walter. I love them both. My fearless amazon and my sweet potato roll.

The perfect summer read. I loved it and I loved the characters Lily and Leo. It has romance, a little suspense and the Wild West. This book was a fun read that continuously put a smile on my face.

I am unsure what this book was. I love romances written by Christina Lauren but this was not it. It couldn't really decide whether to be a mystery, romance, thriller? It was all over the place. From what happened with Terry to a treasure hunt, it needed a focus. Christina Lauren does a great job with the traditional rom-com and they need to stick to that.

I tried to get into this book and just couldn’t. I didn’t care about the characters and felt like it was a book written to start a series vs. being a good book in itself.

I read a blurb somewhere that this was an Indiana Jones like book. I like Indy. This was not that. This was something different, but it was good. There is a treasure hunt that is wild, but not crazy. There is a romance that is very wild and very crazy. I really enjoyed this story and loved the clues that were found along the way. For fans of the wild west and a little lost love...

Something Wilder is a second chance romance, an adventure guide company, and a fake treasure hunt all rolled into one.
Think Hallmark meets a western adventure movie. Very different from their norm and it sadly wasn't for me.
I would recommend many other Christina Lauren books over this one.

I love Christina Lauren books and this one did not disappoint. To be honest, I thought that it was going to be a cheesy rom com book, but the way that the story played out, I was pleasantly surprised! Can’t wait to read more of her books in the future!

This book was unlike any CLo book I’ve read before but I really liked it and it totally kept my attention the whole time. It was cute, fun, and adventurous! Oh and there’s a treasure hunt!

This book didn't fell or sound like a Christina Lauren book.
In the end the book was unremarkable and a story that was forgotten a week later.
I was missing the signature romance from this author couple! Their rom-coms were known to sizzle with romance and sexual attraction. Now it's just sexual attraction minus the romance. Not what I was hoping for.
The book ended up being one of the biggest disappointments by this author couple. But nevertheless I'm always looking forward to their next books.
