Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing this arc in exchange for an honest review. I am a fan of CLo -- I think this book in particular I didn't quite vibe with because I don't love western plots/characters so I wasn't able to really get into it. I am really looking forward to the next one!

While I will still read every single book that Christina Lauren put out, this one felt different. Not the usually swoony romance with sizzling banter and witty characters. It's not that I didn't like it, but I didn't LOVE it either.

This book was plain fun. I read this in one sitting and enjoyed the puzzlesque plot. One of my favorite movies is The Goonies so I love the treasure hunting aspect.

You know that feeling when you pick up a book with zero expectations and end up loving every bit with no faults? Yeah, this was exactly that for me.
Listening to it kept me on my toes, had me cheesing hard & laughing like crazy while frantically pressing the rewind button.
Ten years later, young lovers Lily & Leo meet again and are unexpectedly led back to where it all began through her late father’s self-made treasure hunt.
It comes off predictable. Together again. Alone in the wilderness. One sleeping bag to share. “I never stopped loving you” declarations. Which was all beautifully included, but perfectly seasoned with elements of: betrayal, shock, multiple gun points, and freak accidents.
Baffled was my constant emotion. And I ate up every piece of it. There was a sense of ease in the romance and communication. Leo has officially made one of my top book husbands.
Second chance romance meets adventure, mystery, and definitely something wilder.

Lily Wilder's father Duke was well known in the archaeology and treasure-hunting world, but his passion for treasure didn't make the same impression on Lily, especially after her mom left. She loves their ranch, horses, and Leo, the city boy who spends the summer on the ranch. 10 years later, Lily's leading treasure hunting tours with her friend Nicole and is discouraged to learn that Leo is among the group of 4 that they're taking out on a week-long journey. The heartache from their unexpected breakup is still raw despite the decade that has passed. When one of the guys Leo's traveling with turns out to have ulterior motives for going on the trip, the group finds themselves grappling with a decision: stay on course, or follow Duke Wilder's treasure map.

Having been Canyonlands, it was the adventure of the treasure hunt that hooked me. SOMETHING WILDER was full of puzzles, maps, and surprises. The second chance romance is good too - two words: one tent.

Christina Lauren are queens of contemporary romance whose books are typically full of heart and humor. I often recommend their work to readers interested in getting started with romance novels so I was excited to have another title to add to my recommendation list. However, it ultimately fell a bit short for me. While Something Wilder is still full of their usual charm, it suffers from trying to do too much. Unnecessary subplots divert attention and disrupt the flow and pace of the narrative. An entertaining, but ultimately just okay read.

Something Wilder is now one of my favorite books by the author duo.
What I really enjoyed is that it is different from their other novels. There is an edge of darkness, and there is more than just romance, as there is a lot of action and adventure as well which adds so much more to the story.
Of course, it has the romance that I love about their books, but it’s also packed with action, mystery, and pure excitement. I love the idea that Leo and Lily were forced together to find the treasure of her late father and I loved that along the way they ran into danger.
This was an exciting and very enjoyable read which I will recommend to readers.

This book was National Treasure meets Western, and it was very enjoyable. The puzzles and action had me coming back for more.
The multiple POV was done very well and allowed the reader to get into the heads of the two MCs.
This is a great light read. Perfect for summer.

Oh my word, this book sucked me in so fast. I was instant obsessed with the history between Lily and Leo and the literal treasure hunt they went out on. I loved all these characters and it was so much more than a funny romantic comedy.

A great roadtrip listen! It made the hours fly by! As an avid Christina Lauren fan, I loved this second chance romance. It had mystery, it had adventure, it had danger, and of course some steamy romance. What's not to love?
Lily is such a strong and resourceful woman and a character you root for from the get go. Barely making ends meet using her absentee father's hand-drawn maps to guide tourists on fake treasure hunts, it was heartbreaking to see her struggle on the path to realizing her dream of buying back the beloved ranch her father sold years ago. The fraught reconnection between her and her first love Leo Grady due to his showing up for a tour with his group of friends provided a tense but kinda funny scenario to push the will they or won't they get back together tension. In this romance trope, I love when the author provides ample backstory of the relationship. It enhances understanding of the characters and makes me way more invested in the story.
Narrators Patti Murin and Jon Root do a fantastic job giving each character a distinctive voice and their pacing keeps you engaged til the very end. You might even find yourself taking the long way home in order to finish this audiobook.

Christina Lauren can do no wrong! These ladies continue to write amazing romance books with some spice! I loved the western feel of this book, as well as the sense of adventure I enjoyed while reading it. It was actually a bit different from the other books they've written in the past, and I enjoyed the variety immensely!

Something Wilder was a wild ride indeed. While this book was not done in a traditional romance style, it was still a very fun and engaging read. Lily was strong and determined. Leo was quiet and intelligent in a sweet way. And Terry, well, there is nothing nice to say about Terry. Overall, I enjoyed it!

I thought this book was so much fun! It isn’t a pure romance novel, but mixes in an adventure story. I loved the western vibes and the second chance story line! If you’re looking for a fast-paced romance novel with a strong plot, this one is for you!

It was fine. I didn’t love it. I didn’t hate it. The adventure storyline was a different tone for CLo, and I think that’s where I really struggled connecting…it reminded me of a “grown-up” version of a basic middle grade book, I’d that makes sense.

Looooooove Christina Lauren.
Thanks to NetGalley / Edelweiss and the publisher for providing me with an eARC of this book in exchange for a review.

If you are looking for another great summer read, don’t fear! Turn to this one by Christina Lauren. This duo has once again created a magnificent story that will captivate you from the start!

This book felt so different for Christina Lauren, The story is fun, engaging and the moments they created all hit in a sweet kind of way. This story was a cute one, I could do without miscommunication trope. Aside from that this still falls into a fast recommendation of another Christina Lauren love story!

Something Wilder was an engaging adventure with a first love turned enemies twist. The adventure was a major character of the story and all the twists and turns made for a fun and heart wrenching read.

Another great novel by this amazing writing duo! The fact that this was not their typical narrative really intrigued me.
Admittedly it took stopping after a couple of chapters then beginning again fresh for me to really get into it but the main characters were lovable so I had to know what happened with them. There was a lot of humor brought into the tension filled romance by the secondary characters or sidekicks. The twists and turns of the mystery really kept me guessing right up to the end.
This is the perfect book to get a spinoff featuring Nicole and Walter! I’ll definitely be recommending this to my library users.
