This book is so fun! A contemporary western romance with lots of adventure. I was hooked until the very last page. This book will delight all kinds of readers from romance to western. I loved that the authors took the time to right out the puzzles and clues and show how Lily and Leo solve them instead of excluding readers from that experience. Overall, this is a really well-written delight for all readers.

I enjoyed listening to this book, and thought the narrators did an excellent job bringing Lili and Leo to life. While I was able to predict a few things that happened, I was still completely engaged in the story and invested in these characters! One of my favorite things about the book was the way the setting became a character as well, and I could picture it immediately. Well done!

The two authors are great. Romance and humor will keep you intrigued! I found these authors via Friends and Fiction and have been interested in reading all of their books. Never a disappointment!

Lily is the daughter of famous treasure hunter Duke Wilder. She is poor and makes money by guiding people through Utah in a hunt for treasure that her dad said was buried out there. When Leo comes into the picture with a group of friends looking for the treasure, Lily instantly realizes he is the man who broke her heart years ago. Forced to spend time with him and his friends, she starts to feel things she forgot about. Thimgs go wrong when someone brings out a gun. Accidents happen and the group is forced to decide to go to the police or hide what happened and continue the search.
This was a really good book and I enjoyed reading it. It definitely had some parts I didn't expect from a Christina Lauren book which was new. I haven't read all of their books but this was probably my second favorite one of the ones I have read.
If you enjoyed their other books, you will like this one too.

Relationships are rarely simple and straightforward. They’re messy and complicated, with circumstances that sometimes get in the way. But in Something Wilder, the latest from romance-writing duo Christina Lauren, one couple gets a second chance to make their relationship work—only to have their circumstances make everything even more complicated...

I found this to be a very fast-paced, entertaining adventure. Not the same emotional romance I'm used to from this duo and I wish we would have gotten a bit more history and romance with Leo and Lily, but I enjoyed it still.

I did not love this book. It took me forever to get through. The storyline was just not entertaining to me and was very far fetched. I would however, love a reprise of Leo and Lily! Their specific storyline was adorable! Thank you to netgalley.com for an ARC of this book in trade for my honest review.

Sometimes you just need a little adventure and romance in your life and boy did Christina Lauren deliver that with Something Wilder!

I'm not typically drawn to stories about the wild west or treasure hunting, but this was so much more and was executed really well. The setting was magically described and I loved that Nicole and Lily were two incredibly strong, independent women leading groups through the treacherous desert.

I also thought the love story was really cleverly done. It's not too often that I read the past lovers trope in this context. I liked the way Leo and Lily's past and present unfolded and the immediate sparks and connection felt more authentic because they had so much history.

There was action, drama, and unique characters galore in this one! While not all entirely believable, it definitely made for a great and entertaining read.

I listened to this novel on audio and felt that the two narrators - Patti Murin and Jon Root - did exceptional. They were engaging, exciting, and really helped me transport myself into the story.

Thank you to Gallery and NetGalley for a copy of this novel.

This was my first Christina Lauren novel, and it was different from what I expected - though not in a bad way. I expected a run of the mill romance, and was surprised by the (as others have put it) Indiana Jones aspect of it all. The puzzle feature was very fun, though it did lead to bits of the story being a bit...shall we say implausible? Overall a fun read.

i read this in one go and enjoyed it but i do have to say i didn't LOVE it. the writing didn't have that christina lauren spark and i was left feeling a bit disapointed.

Christina Lauren books are usually some of my favorite rom coms and although I loved this book, it was definitely lacking the comedic aspect I’ve come to expect from this author duo. I did enjoy the mystery, puzzle solving, Indiana Jones type vibe though. Overall, a solid enjoyable read.

I have read most of Christina Lauren's backlist and Something Wilder is a very different book than their normal - this is not a negative statement, just factual. Something Wilder has the romantic plot line you would expect but adds in a dash of adventure, murder mystery, and treasure hunt to the romance.

Lily grew up learning about the canyons of Utah and the treasure supposedly hidden there on her daddy's knee. He spent all of his time and money working on finding the treasure, to the detriment of Lily. Leo came along when Lily was young and they quickly fell in love, before Leo disappeared without a word. Lily now runs a tourist trail in the canyons and who shows up besides Leo and a group of his friends? But with the group brings a hidden plot and secrets.

Like I said, I'm not used to a Christina Lauren book turning into a thrilling, modern, Western adventure. It was a bit of a shock reading it, but I think they moved well into this different sub-genre than their usual. It had the same level of romance you would have expected even if it is less of a focus due to the other plot lines. The writing is very much on par with their usual as well. I didn't necessarily see the plot twists coming but I would say it was on par with a mystery/thriller level.

Tropes include second chance romance and only one... tent.

Christina Lauren does it again!! What a wild, light hearted, adventure this book was. I was not expecting to enjoy it as much as I did. I’m generally not a fan of horses and the desert, but this book is the exception! This is one I’ll definitely be recommending to patrons and staff!

I’m a huge fan of Christina Lauren. I’ve blasted through most of their books. That said, this one took me a little longer to get into. However, once the adventure began I was hooked! Lost love returned, treasure hunting, danger, deception…it was an exciting read! So happy for Lily to get the happy ending she deserved after being deserted by so many people in her life.

3.5⭐️ rounded

While this one wasn't my favorite book by this duo, it was still an enjoyable read. I adored second chance romance so that kept me going and I finished this one in two days. It was an entertaining light read that would be a great pick for a little escapism.

This was somewhat different than your typical CL read. Yes, there was some romance. But it seems this pairing of talented authors decided to dip their toes into more of a mystery.

An outdoor adventure on horseback! Hidden treasure! Murder!?

Did it work? Ummm….yes. But going in, my expectations for a healthy dose of romance was high and I felt that portion of the book took a bit of a backseat.

I chose to listen to the audio along-side my digital copy and both narrators did a good job with the characters.

I enjoyed this latest release by Christina Lauren. And as always, I’m looking forward to their next. I’m hoping they’ll change course and return to their lane focusing more on contemporary romance.(That’s just my wish)!😉

Christina Lauren, my absolute favorite author (s) created another masterpiece. I loved this and the seriousness of the treasure hunt in this story. And I loved that these characters were old flames, it added a nice aspect to this romance.

I found myself attached to multiple characters throughout this book and I never wanted their stories to end. I thought every character had some very interesting directions they could go in, and I wanted more!

OH NO!!! I AM DEVESTATED.

Christina Lauren is an almost autobuy for me. I love this author duo and after The Soulmate Equation I was excited for this new book. Alas, it was not a hit for me.

There were pacing issues, the whole second chance romance is not my thing, and like there was a whole ass dead person in this book. What?!?!!

I will definitely try them again, they're a fav, but I was let down by this one.
