The thing about Tremblay is that he never writes the same book twice. By that, I mean that his books are always unique, not just when compared to each other, but when compared to horror tropes. This vampire novel (or is it?) is part friendship novel, part memorial to the music scene of the 80s and 90s, and part homage to 80s teen movies like The Breakfast Club, with New England vampire folktales thrown in. It's enjoyable, but I can't put it in the same category as the mind-blowing Head Full of Ghosts or the exquisite Survivor's Song, which are my favorites by Tremblay.

Another page-turner from Temblay. A recommended first purchase for collections where horror/thrillers are popular.
