Once again Sara Medlar, her niece Kate, and their friend Jack find another murder falls in their lap. Though they've promised not to solve any more murders, the sheriff leaves town putting Jack in uniform and in charge. What? A friendly gentleman appears in Kate's life. Who is he? Who are they to trust in their community as strange things happen with no explanation. As the story develops we find out a whole lot more about what was behind Kate's early years and the lies about Sara her mother so adamantly stood behind . Then family suddenly becomes larger as truths are exposed. I love the relationship of Kate and Sara and wonder how Kate survived the years with her mother as Sara is more a mother than Ava. The witty conversations are so greatly enjoyed. With the latest in her series Devereaux has done herself proud furthering the lovely characterization of the characters we have come to love, their connections, their personalities and interactions with the cast of Lachlan Florida.. If like me you had many questions about Kate and her family, her story is now to be known.
