This audiobook was done so well! I was laughing out loud more than once. I’d say definitely give it a chance. I could gush about this book until the falcons come home but I’ll leave it here.

I really want to like this book more than 3 stars. The idea of the story of cursed bridesmaid is appealing for chick lit. Like many chick lit I was expecting a journey of heroine's self discovery. And yes, Miss Greenberg done that.

I just feel the middle of the story is dragging to long. Some part is unnecessary. The book length can be shortened to 100 pages. Bad Luck Bridesmaid have hit and miss. At the end I do not hate it nor love it either. I feel OK.

Ok this was an adorable story. I loved watching Zoey fall in love when she always thought she wouldn’t. It gave you hope for her. But her emotions sure gave us a rollercoaster ride, watching her battle her inner emotions. Which made it such an interesting read. Although I wasn’t a huge fan of the way it ended, I’m still happy she got her HEA.

Even though I was prepared for this to be more of a women's fiction book than a romance book, I still couldn't get invested in the story. It seemed really slow/repetitive and I had to DNF it after a few chapters.

This book was alright. It claims that it’s not a rom-com and warns the reader of such but it really mostly is just that. So, if you like them, you may like this one.
Zoey Marks has deemed herself cursed. She’s been a bridesmaid more than once over the course of ten years and with each wedding the couple has split up before the wedding. Therefore she claimed the title of cursed.
After the third strike, Zoey wonders if her own ambivalence towards marriage has passed on to those around her. She goes so far as to turn down a proposal from her all-American, perfect, sweet boyfriend Rylan Harper III. She leaves Rylan heartbroken. She broke her own heart as well. She questions her actions and why she feels as she does.
Now her best friend Hannah Green is getting married. This takes the story all the way to Ireland (side note - really wish I had friends that could take me to Ireland for their wedding) where her friend's wedding is planned. Her friend who happens to be the cousin of her ex, Rylan. Since she broke Rylan's heart though he attends the wedding with a very attractive guest.
Zoey is determined to change her luck and she accepts the role of bridesmaid for Hannah’s wedding. Now she is just praying that her friend's wedding goes off without a hitch and if she can get Rylan back along the way all the better (whether he has a girlfriend or not).
However, as the weekend goes on Zoey finds that she has a lot more questions than answers.
I don’t want to tell you the whole story since it’s not an incredibly complicated one. I’ll let you read it and follow along with Zoey as you go.
For me, I found that the main character was rather annoying. I suppose if you can relate to her in some way it’s more helpful but I just couldn’t. She whines a lot!! Things she does to and for herself are the reasons for her situation so really she just needs to chill. There is one part where she says something right in front of Rylan's mom that is just incredibly rude and it really sort of made me almost dislike her, she redeems at times but it was still just bad. Why oh why would someone of her age do that? She acts like a teen at times, though most teens have a better filter and know that saying such things isn’t the best way to win back an ex.
Again though, if you can relate to the main character with more than one or two things, I think you’ll enjoy this story. It is well written and the characters aren’t terrible but I just couldn’t. I still recommend it because I think this book will definitely appeal to a certain audience and they will really like it.
If you do read/listen to this I almost recommend going with the audio. The narrator is fantastic!

As much as I wanted to like this concept, this book missed the mark for me. Zoey isn't likable and seems to go out of her way to mistreat people who are kind and care about her. There was far too much world-building and backstory, and then when I thought we'd finally come to the point where we could see Zoey grow and find her happiness, I realized that, in my mind, she was the villain of the story instead of the heroine. I'd rather read a story about her ex, who isn't perfect, but didn't deserve to be strung along by Zoey. This one wasn't for me.

Bad Luck Bridesmaids is a mix of things I like and things I really didn’t enjoy. I think the main drawback for me is Zoey. Though I admire her strength of character and unwillingness to settle for anything less than what she has always wanted for her future, she also comes across as deeply cynical and judgment of her friends and their life choices. In some instances, she is downright mean in her assessments of people. She’s her own worst enemy and continually creates way more strife for herself than is necessary. Ultimately, I can respect that she stays true to herself and makes some pretty tough choices, but her likeability was a big fat zero for me. The first half of the book is dedicated to Zoey and Rylan’s relationship, and I enjoyed being along for the ride as their relationship grew. Found myself incredibly frustrated in the middle, and then bounced back for the wedding portion of the story. It’s during the wedding part of the book that we meet Ezra, the grumpy groomsman who is determined to break up the marriage. The interactions between Zoey and Ezra were some of my favorites. All in all, this was a book that was easy to fall into and made me want to keep reading. The writing was solid and I found myself laughing out loud more than I anticipated. I also enjoyed how the story ended – which I wasn’t sure I would up until the very last moment. I’d be interested to see what comes next from Greenberg. Bad Luck Bridesmaid would have been a hit for me if I hasn’t disliked Zoey so much. I did really enjoy the narrator, played the part quite well. 3 stars.

I tried really hard to make it through this book. Unfortunately, I had to DNF it. I just could not get into this story as much as I tried. I was not a fan of the story, or the narrator.

I didn't have high hopes for this romcom (or this non-rom com as the cover insists), but I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked it. It's not a gripping look at life, and in fact, the whole idea of being cursed with bad luck in the world of bridal counterparts is kind of silly. But it was all the other pieces of the story that I really enjoyed. Many of us have had run-ins with ex's at weddings (I have, I know that), and we can attest to how hard it can be, how rough it is to see them when you feel like your whole world is shattered and clearly theirs isn't. I wish that had been the real focus, and not the bad luck bridesmaid part, which would kind of be hard considering that's the title.

I like the protagonist but the story doesn't stand out. I like that she didn't accept the proposal but I wish the story would have gone further in that direction. Instead, it felt like two stories in one because it focused too much on the best friend and her story as if this story was dual POVs, which also blurred the lines between facts about the two women in this book. I found myself mixing the stories up so it wasn't clear at times who the main character was. I did enjoy the ending.

3.5...I'm rating it higher because it really was entertaining from beginning to end. I laughed out loud a lot. That said, it didn't give me all the feels, and I've had friends who never wanted to get married, but as soon as they met the right person, they changed their mind, so I didn't quite understand the "complicated person" aspect. I also was so annoyed by the use of the words "truth monster" excessively. I did like how it ended even though I predicted it from the start, as soon as the author made the Dawson's Creek reference. All in all, I liked it a lot.

Thank you so much to @netgalley for this advanced reader's copy for an honest review.

I had an advanced audiobook of this novel and I enjoyed the narration. Unfortunately this book just wasn’t for me. I found it difficult to become invested with the story and ended up not completing the novel, putting it down at 27%.

Oooof. This book was a mess. Normally I love mess, but I pretty much immediately realized that Zoey's particular brand of hot mess express wasn't going to work for me, and I was (mostly?) right. Let's start with some positives because while I personally didn't love this one, I do think that this could end up really working for the right reader! Firstly, I listened to this via audio and thought the narration and the pace of the story was great! I definitely recommend grabbing the audio if it is accessible to you. Another thing I really liked? This book was surprisingly naughty, and never in a way that felt awkward or forced, which I very much appreciated lol. With those things being said...... I still was never really able to get over my general dislike of Zoey. She gave off big Not Like Other Girls energy right out the gate and never really stopped and it bugged the heck out of me. I do think I could like something else written by Greenberg in the future, but unfortunately this one was not at all the book for me.

If you are a fan of women's fiction full of wit and humor then this book is for you. Bad Luck Bridesmaid is the story of Zoey and her path to discovering who she is what she truly wants out of life. I enjoyed a lot of aspects of this book. There is amazing friendship between Zoey and Hannah. The way these two support one another, despite their different views, is heartwarming and something we should all aspire to as a friend. I loved Rylan. He is sweet and charming and the chemistry between he and Zoey is great. The setting of Hannah's wedding festivities at Ashford Castle in Ireland was a lot of fun.

The part where I struggled with the book is that I never really understood or loved Zoey herself. While I applaud her journey to figure out what is important to her, I just couldn't relate to her at all and really felt very badly for Rylan. She didn't seem to want to compromise at all (to be fair, he didn't in the end either). She acts in a very self-important way throughout the book and, if this character was a male, I believe many would have a issue with her beliefs instead of championing her.

That being said, this is maybe that I'm more of a Hannah. Despite how I felt about Zoey, I appreciate reading a book where the ending is different and that paints a different story for others to see themselves in. I wanted to like this one more because I do think there is some good to it, but the book overall depressed me and just made me feel sad in the end.

I really enjoyed the audio of this book and thought it added to the reading experience. I had read it in ebook and then listened in audio and enjoyed it more in that format. I would definitely recommend listening to this one.

The narrator was able to pull me into the story. I did not want a day to pass by without knowing what was going to be the happy ending of the main character. Not only does this book provide women the idea that they don't require to be married to be fully happy with one self but also that you can find yourself at any age and any moment. That you can make mistakes and learn from them, it's not the end of the world. My students would not really benefit from this book because they are in elementary. I would recommend this book for 9th grade and up.

When a book blurb warns you a book is not a rom-com and you still dive in headfirst, you know it has a good hook! Bad Luck Bridesmaid did not disappoint in either the rom or the com department, even though it's solidly in the women's fiction department.

Despite being a self-made marketing genius and amazing best friend, Zoey Marks is an absolute disaster in the bridesmaid department. So far, she’s 0 for 3 in getting a bride down the aisle. It’s a curse that’s made her terrified of what her own romantic future holds. She turns down a proposal from her seemingly perfect boyfriend, only to be reunited with her ex at his cousin and her best friend’s wedding a few months later. If Zoey can successfully get her BFF down the aisle, could she change her own destiny?

On paper, Rylan is the perfect boyfriend, but ultimately, I just don’t feel like there was much of a future for them. Maybe I’m jaded from my own past failed relationships–I always had similar feelings about not wanting to settle down or get married, and I forced myself to settle into long-term commitments when my heart just wasn’t fully on board. (And going back for more after a breakup because I was afraid of being alone!) When I met my husband, it was the kind of insta-love that makes me cringe to read about in stories–IYKYK, right?! I’d vowed to be single and childless forever. (More than a dozen years and three kids later, I’m singing a different tune.) Having that perspective helps me spot red flags in storylines all too well now. It was abundantly clear that Zoey just wouldn’t get a HEA if she ended up with Rylan, so I don’t think I could fully root for them to be together.

While there are some heavy themes and plot points along this journey, there are also so many parts that made me laugh out loud! It almost gave me Sophie Kinsella-ish vibes in some areas. She’s an all time favorite author, so that’s a huge compliment to Greenberg’s writing style!

I got a chance to listen to the audio thanks to Macmillan Audio via the NetGalley Shelf app, and narrator Sarah Naughton was delightful to listen to! She had a melodic pacing to her narration that kept you listening for hours at a time. Honestly, the narration bumped up what was solidly a 3-star read to a 3.5 or 4-star overall. Naughton was able to consistently engage me in the story and kept me emotionally connected. I can't recommend the audio enough!

I loved this audiobook!! Nice, light hearted, steamy. I loved the characters, how it displayed multiple different kinds of personalities and relationships along with relationship problems.

So first off this is not a romance or anything under romance. This is chick-lit or women's fiction. So going in with that you might get a different view but its a bit of all over. Its more of growing of women int the story- friends- trying to decided if she should get married and all that. I keep hoping it would get better but the last bit was all over the place.

I think they tried to do a bit of an HEA at the end but umm, no.
The narrator did a good job

This is a 2.5 but maybe if the publisher did it in the right category it would be different
