This beautifully illustrated picture book can be accompanied by the author's narration. I listened with my children, and we were all charmed by the background music, the beautiful verses, and the celebration of the diversity of children with "golden skin".

I was so taken with the beauty and the sad truth that the parent has to include a message about the intolerance their child may have to face and the fact that he or she may be "othered" but that it is the uniqueness and beautiful qualities of their child that are what makes them so wonderful.

As a mother, I teared up listening to this story and I think this will resonate with families of all ethnicities and races. I highly recommend the audio version of this lovely story!
