This book was ok. It was over the top with the spiciness. The characters were cute but at times acted very immature.

A second-chance, an injury, a buisness deal and a meddling family threaten to keep Bridget and Archie apart even after all these years. Sometimes money can't buy happiness or love, Archer is about to put to the test his devotion to Bridget and hope that she's still in love with him because this time he's not planning on letting her go.

Is it possible that they can rekindle the flame? This spicy read has laugh out loud moments, hot sexy time, and characters that you could read about for hours.

If you select your book reads from the cover alone, this one is amazing. You can see the chemistry from first glance. This standalone can be read on its own, or enjoyed to the fullest if you dive in to the other two books in this must read series.

Samanthe Beck writes hearfelt, hot, sexy romance with characters that just leap into your heart and tug ;)

Can't wait for more.

Whoops - I read this prior to it’s release date and sort of forgot my review wasn’t “published” and while “cleaning” my bookshelves I found the error 🙃 soooo here is my “better late than never” review 😉

⭐️It’s time to get lost in this witty, angsty, enemies-to-lovers, second-chance, deliciously sexy romance - take a trip to Alaska - if you dare!⭐️

Author Samanthe Beck quickly enchants you with this tale, as she masterfully takes you on a vivid journey through Alaska layered with the emotional romance of Bridget and Archer. If you have not read the first book of Captivity Alaska Series series, “Wild in Captivity,” this book is very easily enjoyed as a standalone. The story flows smoothly and I didn’t think it had any areas that were the plot was agonizing slow…a.k.a. “I didn’t fall asleep while reading.” 😉
Beck writes this story with a dual POV which allows the reader to experience the emotional aspect for both characters. Both MCs are exceptionally written and multifaceted. Bridget is a strong female lead who is going through a trauma and grieving the loss of her brother. Archer is a determined man, he has only ever had two goals in life: Goal one - become successful on his own not as a part of his father’s company. Done. Goal two - winning back the one who got away (the beautiful, determined, and independent Bridget) by whatever means necessary. In Progress.

Overall I thoroughly enjoyed this story and recommend it to all lovers of “second chance” romance.

I can’t wait to read the next book in the series!

Unfortunately, after reading book one in this series, I have decided that this series/author is not for me. Thus I will not be able to read this book right now. Out of respect for the author, I will not review this series on Goodreads.

This is the first book I read from the series and I definitely want to check out the others. Playing Dirty in Alaska is a second chance romance that also deals with a loss of a family member. I really enjoyed the connection between Bridget and Archer. I enjoyed reading about Archers efforts to get Bridget back because he has to grovel for her. I also like that we get to be inside Bridget's head and how she is dealing with the loss of her sibling and how difficult it has been. Overall Archer and Bridget have to fight for each other and the love they feel and I loved watching them choose each other.

Playing Dirty in Alaska is the first book that I've read by Samanthe Beck. I struggled with rating it between 3 stars and 4. Overall, I'd describe this book as a steamy romance story with some annoying details- like dog dialogue throughout the book. I enjoyed the main characters, Bridgette and Archer- and could definitely feel their chemistry across the page. The themes of this book are second chances, foregiveness/trust, and love. If you're looking for a spicy beach vacation read, look no further. This one won't require too much thought but is full of "action."

All the fun tropes! Second-chance, enemies-to-lovers, and strong heroines. This was such a fun romance. And the steamy scenes were absolutely wonderful!!

A second chance romance with lots of spice. I did not read book one but book two was fun, fast and did not disappoint. A very enjoyable read.

Alaskan bush pilot Bridget Shanahan is working on being more responsible so that she can help her brother Trace with the management of their family business, Captivity Air and Freight. He's heading off on his honeymoon and leaving her in charge of the airfield, and Bridget wants Trace to know that he can trust her to handle things while he's gone. The last thing she needs is her college ex-boyfriend, Archer Ellison III, showing up four years after their breakup, determined to win her back. Bridget wants nothing to do with Archer after the way he unceremoniously dumped her in college, though it's tough to fight the chemistry that is as strong as ever between them. When a silly dare leads to Bridget being injured, she can't afford to refuse Archer's offer of help in Trace's absence. Will it be the opening Archer needs to convince Bridget to give him another chance?

For the most part, I enjoyed Archer and Bridget's second chance romance. Their banter was fun and they certainly had plenty of chemistry. However, I was sometimes a bit uncomfortable with Archer's behavior towards Bridget because it felt manipulative. She was really vulnerable after losing her twin brother, Shay, in a plane crash a few months earlier. In the previous book of the series, Archer tried to take advantage of that to purchase Trace's interest in Captivity Air and Freight so that he could force Bridget to work with him. When that failed, he decided to move to Alaska and pursue her anyway. Despite Archer's behavior, I truly believed that he loved Bridget, and nothing he did was intended maliciously; it just didn't always feel honest. He wasn't very good at communicating with her, either. Bottom line, Archer wanted Bridget to trust him but wasn't willing to fully trust her, and that was a real problem right up until the end of the book.

Overall, I did enjoy and would recommend "Playing Dirty in Alaska," though "Wild in Captivity" remains my favorite of the series so far. I look forward to the next book.

I lovingly blame Entangled Publishing for all of the swooning I am currently doing over this book. I have not read Beck before but her ability to bring humor, eyebrow waggling steam and connection was excellent. I'm kinda mad it took me this long to discover her.

Second chance romance is starting to grow on me. I'm typically a first encounter, hot and steamy chemistry kinda gal, but man did Bridget and Archer totally take my heart by storm. The Alaska setting, the way the writing style intensifies their connection and the emotional struggle of both POVs made this a top read for me.

There is something intimate and captivating about a man that doesn't back down from what he wants. Especially when what he wants comes in a pint-sized package of sarcasm and flawed strength. Both main characters were well written and equally fleshed out. The supporting crew added effortlessly to the plot making every moment more comical and heartwarming.

I have not read Wild in Captivity (Book 1) and feel this novel stands on its own. I will most definitely be reading the first book though because damn! Highly recommend this novel to all of my second chance romance readers! Thank you Entangled Publishing for the gifted digital copy in exchange for an honest and unbiased review! True rating 4.5/5.

Archer and Bridget knew each other prior with major history. One that Bridget doesn’t want to repeat unlike Archer who isn’t one to let things go. This was a great story and a even better addition to the previous book. I’m hoping for a third

I received this ARC and I am voluntarily reviewing this book.

This is a great second chance romance story set in Alaska. First love that turns into Happy Ever After? Sign me up! Bridget's story of trying to not fall back in love with Archer is beautiful. Archer coming back to get the girl that got away and not giving up until he wins her over is what book boyfriends are made of. I am looking forward to all the other books in this series.

Second book in the series....Bridget was not easily susceptible to Archer and his machinations and she shouldn't to easily swayed in my opinion, I felt that he manipulated her a little to much, yes he may have loved her, but I hate when someone claims that you are the love of their life but then they sleep with others, yes yes I know it was 4 years, but thats one of my pet peeves even if it is a little illogical. Yes she did too but it was the circumstances that pushed her to get to where she was, and didn't fault her, she was hurt. I liked that she was a strong woman, but eventually she ended up getting the love that she deserved.

Playing Dirty in Alaska is part of a series, the second in the series of Captivity, Alaska. This book centers on Bridget and Archer- formerly in love during college and 4 years later havent really spoken since. Now Archer comes to Alaska to win Bridget back but she says she has no interest. The two of them are just drawn to each other and had so much chemistry. Their scenes were steamy and exciting. Interspersed with the more adult moments was a story of forgiveness, healing and corporate drama (which is honestly the weakest sections of the book for me). I am looking forward to the next book which I assume is Lilah's story.

Playing Dirty in Alaska is a very entertaining and truly delightful second-chance romance. Every time I read a Samanthe Beck story I am reminded that she is a master at combining humor, steam, and more serious elements into one amazing story. Another fantastic story!
