Thank you to NetGalley and Entangled publishing for letting me read this.
I actually liked this book better than book 1 in the series. The meet cute was quite funny, and the chemistry Dyson and Lexi had was genuinely hot.
I felt like a light read, and this hit the spot. I enjoyed reading about the additional characters in the story, the roommate, the sisters and Mateo. The fear factor was a different idea near the end also, and was good to learn something new.
Really looking forward to Ward and Diaz's book now.

This is a sweet, and a bit steamy, fake relationship romance. Lexi Martin constantly puts everyone’s needs before her own. After her last disastrous relationship, she is on a dating hiatus. She is at her job at a youth center when in walks Dyson O’Neil, Fireman. Since it is her birthday, she thinks he is a strip-o-gram. Dyson is on a bit of a dating hiatus himself. He was devastated when his fiancé cheated on him with his best friend, and doesn’t think he can ever get close to anyone again. After their first embarrassing meeting, Lexi and Dyson agree to fake date to get his meddling sisters off his back. Overall, this is an enjoyable read with very likable characters. I received an advanced reader copy of this book from NetGalley for my honest review.

This was such a fun, sweet read and my first from this author. Lexi our heroine mistakes our hero Dyson as a strip-o-gram where in fact he is the fireman come to do a fire and safety check at the youth centre where she works. There is instant heat and attraction between them but both of them are on a dating ban due to past heartache.

One thing leads to another and Lexi agrees to be his fake girlfriend to get Dyson's well meaning sisters off his back. They need to be convincing but can acting as though they are in love work when they are falling for each other really.

I really like the author's style of writing, she adds a lot of warmth and humour to the story. The heat was well written and the characters were likeable with understandable fears and baggage.
I look forward to reading more from her.

Another fun steamy firefighter romance!
I really liked Lexi and Dyson’s story. How Lexi thought Dyson was a stripper was hilarious! I could not stop laughing.
I love how Dyson is really close with his sisters after all they’ve been through. I really liked Dyson’s personality and how he is truly thoughtful of others.
I loved how Lexi gives her everything to others. I liked how Dyson is able to help her slow down a bit and enjoy life. I really liked how she blurts out stuff without meaning too. I found it super funny.
I didn’t like the main argument between Lexi and Bryson but the ending is really cute.
I really need Diaz and Ward’s story now please!!!

This is a rather sweet read, but there is some heat to it as well. He is a firefighter who has sworn off love and relationships after a devastating breakup a few years back. She works in a youth community center helping keep kids out of trouble, and tends to put everyone and their needs ahead of her own, and has been taken advantage of many times in her relationships. The two meet during a fire inspection and had a connection, but due to their past, neither was going to make a move on the other.... but then the bets starting forming. Now sorta forced to get to know each other, because, yes, they were now fake dating, things start to get a little tricky. He is a really great guy who is kind and generous and not at all cocky. She is beautiful, selfless and has a heart of gold who will do anything to help the kids she works with. Together they are a perfect match, but everyone has fears and those fears threaten to tear them apart before they even begin. The characters are wonderful (and the side characters bring a little added humor to the story.) There are laughs and some tears. She has a little quirk to her personality, that endears her to you a little more. He is just an all round good guy, even if he is a bit of a stickler for the rules. Maybe, just maybe she can get him to bend. It alternates between POVs. It's easy to read and the story moves nicely. Even though they were fake dating, they still had the big break up before the grand gesture. There is some sexual content that may be deemed suitable for mature readers.

This book was well done but bordered on overly cheesy at times. Lexi of course was so qUirKy and kept accidentally speaking out loud when the two of them first met. Their first meeting was admittedly awkwardly hilarious. Overall the book was a bit overly predictable for my taste. Dyson very typically is not dating after a betrayal and Lexi has a bet with her roommate that she will not be dating anyone. Their relationship followed the exact path you would expect one with people with these qualms to,.

Lexi and Dyson meet when he comes to the community center where she works to do the annual fire inspection. After she mistakes him for a birthday strippergram, the two become fast friends and enter in to a fake relationship to show that they’ve moved past their disastrous past relationships. This book is a true romcom because it can be borderline cheesy at times, but always super sweet. I loved that they had to learn to overcome their fears.

Mariah Ankenman has a beautiful way of writing that makes her books fun and highly enjoyable.
.
This is a fake relationship between a hot firefighter and the shy and cute director of a youth center. Two quirky characters who are clear about their goal, not to make again past mistakes as far as their love lives are concerned
.
Lexi has a long list of ex-partners who always took a lot from her and never gave back taking advantage of her good and honest heart. Hence bet with her best friend and her rule of no dating for six months.
Dyson can't trust another woman after his fiancee cheated on him with his best friend, determined not to risk his heart again and his trust only see womens once, when it is really necessary, the rest of the time he prefers to dedicate it to work and his two sisters.
.
They both have the same rule but when Lexi mistakes the annual safety inspection for a Birthday gift from her roommate ,as a sexy stripper the rules start to shift a bit and when his sisters start getting in the way Lexi and her good heart are the only ones capable of helping him
.
I just really enjoyed this book, it is fun, sexy and heart warming. A romance about the importance of leaning on the people around us and to overcome our fears to move forward
.
Thanks to Mariah Ankenman and Entagled Publishing LLC for give me this Beautiful Book in exchange for my honest opinion I really enjoyed reading it

Mariah Ankenman is my go-to for feel-good, sexy reads. The Dating Dilemma is fun, cheesy, funny, and spicy. I love the Station 42 crew and it was great to be back with those characters again. (Fingers crossed we get a Ward/Diaz story soon)

Thank you to the author, publisher, and Netgalley for the ARC. I voluntarily read and reviewed this title.

The Dating Dilemma by Mariah Ankenman a fun and flirty five-star read. This is one of the Mile High firefighters series, but they really can be read as stand-alone, as they do pop up in each other stories, but as compliments rather than distractions. This was good, it wasn’t the best I have read by this author, but it was just what you want and need and a little more from a story about a hot firefighter. This kicked off with a ban, just not the one you are expecting, I am so like Lexi, I say what is on my mind weather I want to or not, so I would have so been thinking stripper, I had terrible taste in men before I met my husband the second time, the time it stuck as I was finally ready to realise he was the one I wanted. But she is so much nicer than me, seriously. I really enjoyed how the author put everyone through their paces and pushed them, it’s not something we usually see with the romance genre and it worked so well in this story.

You know how part of the appeal of rom-coms is the cheesiness? Well this book is so freaking cheesy that I couldn't enjoy it. I mean, when thinking about our hot-but-named-after-a-vaccuum lead our main girl says:

"He was more of an explosive volcano of sexiness."

Like, what?

Thank you to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing for an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own.

This book was so fun. Mariah writes in a really easy manner to read and so I was able to power through this book. You have fake dating, real feelings, and all of the meddling friends & family you could ever hope for. You have Lexi, a completely over worked and sometimes underappreciated director of a youth facility, and Dyson, a hardworking firefighter whose concern for those he cares about makes his rule making/following come across like a stick in the mud. All of the characters in this book are well rounded, which is nice in ensemble pieces - I don't like throwaway characters just to fill scenes. I believe this is part of a series of books (all standalone but interconnected from what I gathered) so I look forward to reading the other books that are connected as I enjoyed all of these characters. Fake dating isn't always pulled off well but I think Mariah hit on the correct amount of will they/wont they and raised stakes in a manner that made it make sense. Only one thing stuck out to me as not believable but it is spoilery so I will skip it, and also it is not important in the grand scheme of things.

I enjoyed this book and I think others will too, so check it out! 4/5

It's official, I'm obsessed with the Mile High Firefighters series! Mariah Ankenman has a gift for writing real characters who you can't help but root for.
In this installment, we're with Firefighter Dyson O'Neill as he fakes a relationship with the loveable, scattered Lexi Martin to appease his sisters and get them off his back.
This book seriously nails the comedy part of rom-com and even has a healthy dose of heat (not just from the fires) thrown in.
Read This if You Like Rom-Coms That Have:
- Fake Dating
- Supportive Friends
- Betting
- Pub Trivia

I'm already counting down the days til the next one!! I'd read a thousand of these.

The Dating Dilemma is a well written romance with plenty of moments to laugh out loud. Lexi and Dyson have s great dynamic throughout the story and both were quite relatable. The book felt very grounded and easy to read.

The tropes are executed perfectly. Fake dating can get a little iffy but the chemistry was there from the beginning and the author did a great job in growing their romantic connection through the fake dating. I enjoyed the added fire family within the story line, almost reminiscent of the show 9-1-1 which I absolutely loved!
