Samantha M. Bailey has written a brilliant twisted phycological thriller with Watch Out for Her.
Written from a two person perspective of a wife and the live in nanny.
Where both worlds collide and no one knows what’s true, good or evil.
Absolutely brilliant and definitely would make an excellent chick flick.
I’d watch it!
Five golden stars.

Samantha Bailey is an author to "watch out for". Pardon the pun. This is the second book I have read by her and really enjoyed both.
Told in rotating POV's from past to present, this story kept me intrigued and turning the pages. Holly Monroe needs a family that will love and accept her and Sarah needs someone to care for her son Jacob. A perfect combo? We all know by now that nothing is perfect and nothing is ever as it seems! The main characters had their flaws and I was equally invested in both.
Bailey does a great job keeping the reader guessing. Both characters are a bit off and you really are left wondering where this story is heading. Suspenseful and twisty, I look forward to see what this author comes up with next. I recommend to all thriller lovers!
A big thank you to Simon & Schuster and NetGalley for allowing me the opportunity to read an advanced copy of this book.!

I knew I would love this book because I really loved Woman on the Edge. This book had me on my toes until the very end. It definitely didn’t disappoint

This book gave me all the chills. I read this in one sitting because I was so freaked out that I had to know what happened. There were so many times where I was like “ok, I know whats going on” only the next chapter to be like “ok nope I do not”.
The dual point of view and the time hopping went so perfectly with the story being told. Holly who just wanted love and acceptance unconditionally makes mistake after mistake in her quest to gaining that family she craved. Sarah is a scared mother, who has made some mistakes of her own, who is trying to do her best as a mom and wife. Oh man this story twists you and has you paranoid. As a mother of 3 small children myself, I could not help but relate to Sarah in her fear and paranoia over Jacob. I constantly worry about my kids. There were times where I was like she is losing it… but than I would think that maybe I need to be more paranoid. This was an emotional story that I feel will stick with me for a while.
If you are looking for a thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat.. look no further.

Wow wow this book was not a good read it was a brilliant read. As soon as I started reading this book I was hooked and knew I wouldn’t be able to put it down. So good.

This ARC was provided to me via Kindle, Simon & Schuster Canada and by #NetGalley. Opinions expressed are completely my own.
Riveting, suspenseful, entertaining, packed with twists and turns. If you like domestic thrillers, it’s perfect for you.

This was my first ARC (Advanced Reading Copy)! I'm so glad the publishers approved me to read this because it was really, really good. I was hooked instantly with the writing and character development. I also enjoyed the time jumps explaining before and now which can sometimes get confusing, but not with this book. Each time you switch narrators you're excited for their chapter and point of view to continue where it left off.
Watch Out for Her is told from the narration of two main female characters, a wife and the babysitter. When I started reading I was scared this was going to be another predictable attractive young babysitter sleeps with the husband routine. I was pleasantly surprised that this book had way more twists and wasn't typical. Each main character has their own layers that get peeled back all the way to the end of the book. No person is what they seem and keeps you guessing throughout.
I really appreciated the chance to read this book and I will definitely be reading the authors previous work.

Let me say right off the bat that I adored Bailey’s previous novel, ‘Woman on the Edge’ and was thrilled to start this new one. The beginning is promising, where nothing is at it seems, but when the book turns itself into nothing as it seems, it lost me. Don’t get me wrong but I have to have a character to root for, even if it’s an unreliable narrator who turns into the villain. Here I didn’t care for any of these lightweight manipulative people, ever. I kept expecting more depth which wasn’t there. The ending was a great twist but not enough to make it a unforgettable one. . My opinion is different from the majority of the reviews so perhaps my expectations were too high. I could only root for a dog called Roscoe.

I struggled connecting with Sarah, one of the main characters. She was so overprotective of Jacob and over the top. I felt for her, having suffered a miscarriage myself. But she just was hard to like or root for. Moving from Vancouver to Toronto did not solve anything for her. I do really like the cover art.

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC of Samantha Bailey's new novel, Watch Out for Her. I really enjoyed her first thriller Woman on the Edge, and her second book definitely doesn't disappoint.
Sarah is a loving, overprotective mother whose main focus is on keeping her son Jake safe and happy. With her husband Daniel occupied with work - and some questionable after work activities - Sarah forms an unlikely friendship with her young new babysitter Holly. When Holly is disowned by her rich and uncaring father and stepmother, she finds herself desperate to become part of Sarah's family and will stop at nothing to prove her love and loyalty.
When Sarah uncovers some secrets about Holly and hastily agrees to move to Toronto with Daniel for a fresh start, she is haunted by creepy text messages, hidden cameras and suspicious neighbors. Is Holly behind all of the chaos, or will something more sinister come to light?

I read this author’s previous book and remember loving it. This one not so much. It started off pretty good but at some point it took a weird turn down a road I struggled to follow. I found myself getting bored and I didn’t connect with the characters. The ending was a little to perfectly wrapped up for my taste as well.
All Holly Monroe wanted was to have a family that loved her. She thought she found that in her summer with Sarah and Daniel Goldman. Holly was hired to babysit their six year old son Jacob and after some unfortunate events, she moved in with the family.
Sarah Goldman is a text book helicopter mom and has great difficulty trusting those around her, especially Holly. After witnessing something horrendous, she kicks Holly out and moves her family across the country.
Sarah thought moving would solve all her problems. It turned out they were just beginning. Strange things start happening in her new house and Sarah feels like someone is watching her, waiting. Has the past found her?
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for this arc in exchange for my honest review.

This book! Oh my…the twists and turns and misdirections seriously just blew my mind. I absolutely loved the dual POVs that transitioned between the past and present. The main characters—Sarah and Holly—were seriously flawed while still being relatable and I was instantly invested in both of them.
This book is marketed as a thriller (and it definitely is!) but it is also a story about how some women struggle with the concept of identity and belonging, especially after having children. There were many lines in the book that resonated with me deeply but none more so than when one of the main characters says “I’m learning to define myself. And to find myself.” Yes!
I burned through Bailey’s debut novel WOMAN ON THE EDGE, but I think I loved this one even more. It was a thrill ride from start to finish that kept me guessing, while also giving me a large dose of perspective and insight you don’t always find in this genre. (Side note: I also really enjoyed the fact that it was set in Canada. I love reading stories in familiar settings.)
WATCH OUT FOR HER comes out on April 19 and you definitely want to get a copy.
My thanks to Simon & Schuster Canada for the advance reading copy.

Bailey is proving to be a new favorite of mine in her new novel "Watch Out For Her". This is one book you will not be able to put down.
Sarah and Daniel have decided to hire a babysitter for the summer to assist in the care for their son Jacob. Holly and Jacob instantly hit it off. Holly is also a med student that comes highly recommended in the community. Meanwhile, Holly is so desperate for normalcy she starts to insert herself into Sarah and Daniel's life.
Sarah is constantly watching Sarah and from the outside it seems like she goes a little too far. Thankfully Sarah does this because one day she sees something so horrible she decides enough is enough and they take off halfway across Canada.
As Sarah and Daniel try to start their new life, Sarah is feeling a little unsettled. She feels like she is being watched, but who could it be? She left that old life behind?
Bailey does an excellent job at throwing readers off the trail in this one. As a reader, you know something is off with someone, but you don't know who. You will feel sorry for Sarah as you read this, this poor woman is being put through the ringer, she trusts no one, including her husband.
This will be a top read of 2022. Do not miss this! I cannot wait for Sam's 3rd book!

Watch Out for Her
By Samantha M. Bailey....
One of the greatest I've read in some time.
The story unfolded so well, with just the right amount of suspense, and intrigue.
A very well written book that immediately draws you in to the story.
Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believable.
Finishing the novel was exciting and surprising. I was not expecting the contents of the Epilogue and this reflects the plot in its entirety.
The twists and turns added to the mystery that we are all trying to find answers to.
Simon & Schuster,
Thank You for your generosity and gifting me a copy of this amazing eARC!
I will post my review closer to pub date.

Superbly tense thriller starting with a babysitter who inserts herself into an unsuspecting family. Is she obessed? Or is there something else going on?
Sarah Goldman is happy to move her son Jacob and husband Daniel far away from their last home. The great teenage babysitter "Holly," turned out to be far too involved with the family. Right away strange things begin to happen in the new home that lead Sarah to believe that Holly may not be that far away after all..
This novel is perfectly times with chapters alternating between Sarah and her recent move and Holly's point of view the year earlier as the babysitter. Plenty of interesting and sympathetic characters and an interesting story to pull you in while author Samantha Bailey ratchets up the suspense.
Make this your next domestic thriller! You won't guess the twists #WatchOutForHer #netgalley #SimonandSchuster

Wow Samantha Bailey just rocks! I totally loved this book! Such a great storyline and characters. This just stayed exciting and had me flipping pages to find out what happened.
Highly recommend
Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book

I’m giving this book four stars because there’s nothing wrong with the writing at all. It flowed, I read it cover to cover, and didn’t find myself bored or irked by the storyline whatsoever.
I’m detracting a star simply because it wasn’t for me. It reminded me of the show “You” (also a book but I can’t compare because I haven’t read that book!), or Fatal Attraction. It had twists and suspense but the characters fell a little flat for me.
The gist: Mom’s losing sight of who she is, husband recommends they hire a nanny. Give mom some free time! Find a hobby! Etc. mom hires babysitter. Mom suspects babysitter of something fishy, maybe with her husband, but can’t figure out what it is. The catch is babysitter has already “infiltrated” their family and moms little boy loves her! Babysitter has become one of their own. Why oh why didn’t mom see the signs sooner?!
…Or does mom have it all wrong?
Read to find out!

Sarah and Daniel Goldman, decide to hire a babysitter for the summer, this way Sarah can enjoy some alone time and relax knowing their 6-year-old son is in good hands. Twenty-two-year-old, Holly Monroe is a medical student who came highly recommended by her father. Sarah, Holly and Jacob instantly hit it off however, Sarah’s always keeping a very careful eye on her. One day, Sarah sees something she can never unsee. The Goldmans decide to pick up their life and move across the country to Toronto and are trying to forget the summer. The story is told via multiple point of views between Holly in the past, set in Vancouver; and Sarah in the present, set in Toronto.
Watch Out for Her is an addictive and twisted psychological thriller that will instantly capture your attention. The multiple POV set in the past, and present was brilliant, it seemed like two separate books that tied up well throughout the story. The author is great at throwing you off the scent, so many times I thought I had it figured out, while some things turned out to be correct, I couldn’t be further off from the big twists. Overall, it’s a great book full of lies, twists, and several hair raising moments.
Thank you Simon and Schuster and netgalley for this ARC in exchange for a review.

OMG!! I was so blessed to receive an advanced copy of this much anticipated book. I have been waiting on the edge of my seat for this book to release and it did not disappoint at all! Samantha M Bailey had me on a rollercoaster ride from start to finish, the twists and turns of my mind were incredible! One minute I was sure I knew what was going on and the next I found doubting myself and everything I had read. This is a real page turner and I did not want it to end. Just to make the ride of Watch Out For Her last a little longer, near the end, I started rereading chapters just so I could hang on to the suspense a little while longer. Samantha M. Bailey, your writing is incredible and I cannot wait for book #3!

Thank you NetGalley for this advanced copy. I was so excited as her last book was one of my favorite books ever! Sadly. this book fell short compared to that one. Very average thriller. Some good twists, some good suspense, but overall just very average to me.
