Thank you netgalley and publisher for opportunity to listen to this audiobook and provide my honest feedback.

I believe this is the second book I’ve read by this author and I enjoyed it. I felt this one was a little longer than it needed to be, some parts were a little repetitive and drawn out but overall it was a good story. This author definitely knows how to write and weave twists and turns. The narration of the book was well done, sometimes a bit whispery but overall god and I was engaged, though I did need to speed up the narration for it to flow better for me personally. I’d recommend this book.

A fun and suspenseful audiobook!

Let it be said that the prolific and juicy writer Kiersten Modglin is not only great at suspense, but also at fantasy wish fulfillment. Here we have a story about a beautiful yet modest girl who was sought after by the two hottest guys in her high school, and by the time she returns for her reunion, she is a successful and highly recognizable-in-person author. (Does anyone really recognize authors in person? To her credit, Modglin realizes this and makes a little joke about it.) So yes, a pretty great life. Wouldn’t we all like that to be us? It’s not hard to see the author indulged a personal fantasy here, which is maybe why it works so well and is so fun.

So yeah, Kiersten - er, I mean, her narrator, Cait - appears to have a dream life as a famous author with a hot husband. But we soon learn that a tragic murder struck her high school at a hotel on prom night. Now the reunion is being held at the same location and Cait has a stalker who knows things it seems only the murder victim would know. Complicating matters is the appearance of hot ex-boyfriend number 2 while boyfriend number one (now her husband) is at home with the kids.

I was hooked on this audiobook from the start and really enjoyed the suspenseful, juicy narration and fast-moving plot. This is an addictive popcorn suspense book with fun twists and turns, lots of great suspects and red herrings, and a great plot. I was a wee bit disappointed by the ending, which I was hoping would be as messy and scandalous as the author’s previous work The Arrangement (still my favorite by Modglin!). I saw potential for a couple very shocking endings that the author waved in front of the readers to tantalize us. It wasn’t all that scandalous of an ending ultimately, but was still good and a surprise. I also wasn’t in love with the occasional diversion into bodice-ripper territory but I know other readers like this, and it didn’t happen too often so I was still caught up in the story.

All in all a very fun, easy listen — a very good and scary suspense thriller. I’m excited to keep reading more by Modglin. All her books are solid but I’m still waiting for another total excursion into crazytown like The Arrangement. Until then, though, I am really enjoying watching this author grow and explore many different creative and suspenseful thriller plots. Modglin is always fun, always engrossing and always here for you with the twists! Recommended for all suspense and audiobook fans.

Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the early listening copy. Would love to hear this narrator on more of Modglin’s books!

Thank you, Netgalley and Dreamscape Media for my copy of the The Reunion Audiobook.
I loved the narrator - she did a great job. I couldn't wait to play this audiobook and finish to find out what happened!
Cait returns to her hometown for her high school reunion - due to her mother's health, Cait's husband was not able to attend. She can't keep the memories at bay - and the events of prom night.
She arrives early to get some peach to finish her latest novel. But there are so many distractions. Like running into "The Populars" - the clique of mean girls, who of course are still mean. And there is Sam - Cait's best friend, first love. They reconnect and spend time together.
Someone is stalking Cait - calling her phone, leaving messages. Who could possibly want to hurt Cait?
Great story capturing the emotions of returning home. I loved the dual narrative. Well done.

This is one twisty story and I kept telling the heroine to LEAVE THE HOTEL! Cait has gone to her high school reunion and gone early to get some writing done on her latest novel which she is behind the deadline on. When she gets there she runs into her childhood best friend, Sam. They had not kept in touch, understandingly. The reunion is being held at the Hotel Lilith, the setting of their high school Prom where their other friend, Jamie was last seen alive. Why would they have the reunion there? This story takes us from present to past and back again repeatedly. Including the mean girls who visit Cait in the bar and even though she is now married to Grant, she still is filled with insecurity and flees to her room. This was chilling and someone is truly out to get her. Why does she not just go home? Make sure you read or listen all the way to the end, there are many twists you will not see coming.

I listened to and am reviewing the audio version of this book brought to us by Dreamscape Media and narrated by Meg Price.

The narrator gave an excellent performance! She was able to seamlessly switch back and forth between characters, giving different voices to each. I never had difficulties keeping track of who was talking.

I listened to the audio on trip with my family including my 11 year old son and it was fun discussing different plot points with them. For a minute, we thought Cate was going to let a strange woman/ fan stay with her and we were all yelling at her "Don't do it!"

It turned out to be a fun audio for all!

Fantastic!

This book is impossible to put down. Alternating between the present and ten years ago the story of these main characters is told in such a compelling way that you can't help but keep listening. The characters seem real and the incestuous nature of high school friends and relationships is done in a way that manages to avoid seeming cliche.

My favorite thing about this book though was the twist. I read 100+ mystery/thrillers a year and generally can predict the endings but this one got past me. It managed to be completely unexpected while satisfying because after the reveal you realize it was there the whole time. Extremely well done. So glad I stumbled across this author!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a free copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

This was one wild ride! Cait was unpopular in high school, but now she’s a world famous writer returning to her small town for her high school reunion. Years ago, her best friend died. The town thought she had something to do with it.

I definitely did not figure out who the villain was in this one! You really didn’t know who you could trust, who was innocent, or who was sane! I loved the slow process of finding out what happened through the dual timelines. Cait was a likable enough character, as were the side characters, but the mystery is really what sold this story for me!
The audio was great and narrator was easy to follow and understand.

Must read for all thriller lovers!

I'm fairly new to Kiersten's books but she is impressive! I kept thinking that I had all the twists figured out and I knew what was going to happen but I was way wrong!!

This story takes place over two time frames and chapters alternate from the past and present to give you the whole story. You will be surprised by the ending.

Cait Du Bios is happily married with twins to Grant and she is a successful writer. While present day Cait is happy and content, ten years prior was another story. The story line jumps back and forth from present time to ten years ago when she was in high school. Reluctantly, Cait goes back to Hotel Lilith for her high school reunion but the memories of her past still haunts her. What happened the night of her high school prom in Hotel Lilith? Why is her present stay at Hotel Lilith so haunted and potentially dangerous? Cait begins to receive strange calls and texts that make you believe that what Cait knows about that prom night ten years ago did not reveal the truth!

I loved this story line! It was a constant build of suspense until the major reveal and twist is revealed at the end! I thoroughly enjoyed the ending which is not what you would suspect! Kiersten Modglin does it again, another great read!

I listened to this as an audiobook and the narrator, Meg Price, was great! I would highly recommend this book/audiobook for all suspense readers! Kiersten Modglin does it again, another great read!

***** A huge thanks to Dreamscape Media, Kiersten Modglin, Meg Price, and NetGalley for allowing me to listen this ARC. It has been provided to in turn for my honest opinion.

This is one of my new favorite authors and I enjoyed this book as well. As always, her writing style drew me in and I thought the characters were well described as well as the storyline interesting. I listened to the audio version and liked the narrator as well.

I would have rated this 5 stars except for the fact that it took F-O-R-E-V-E-R to get to the point about what happened during prom. I actually thought about ditching the book midway through because I was getting tired of waiting for that part. I also got frustrated with the main character, trying to figure out WHY she would stay in such a weird situation. Glad I stuck with it, though, because it was a great ending!

This is the story of Cait DuBois told in alternating times. We read about present day as she's returning to Hotel Lilith for her high school reunion. We also travel back in Cait's past. I actually enjoyed the story line from the past more than the present. The ending was I think supposed to be shocking, but it fell a little flat for me. I listened to the audiobook for this one and really enjoyed the narrator. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

Thank you Netgalley for this audio edition of The Reunion by Kiersten Modglin.

Cait is a well known writer with a loving husband and a set of young twins, anyone would look at her life and consider it to be successful. Even still Cait can't help but go back to her HS reunion and confront her past friends, and demons. Because the hotel that the reunion is being held is the same place that she lost her best ex-friend. And still no one knows exactly what happened. But fear and foreboding is dialed to a ten when a mysterious woman suddenly appears in Cait's life. Is Cait's past catching up to her, or is this just an obsessed fan?

This is a story that swaps timelines, going between present day, and Cait's HS life. There is much HS drama, love triangles, betrayals, and popular vs. nonpopular kids. The story slowly unfolds, and we find out how Cait ends up in her situation. I'm giving this 3.5 rounded down just because it was a biiiiit slow, I don't need drawn out HS shenanigans, I get the point. I also found the status stuff to be a bit far reaching. Otherwise, fun listen, great narration.

5 stars for enjoyment

Cait's High School years weren't peachy. As soon as she could, she left her trauma and hometown behind. Now, she comes back for her 10 year reunion, even though her gut tells her not to, even though it's hosted at the one place she said she would never set foot on again. Gee, I wonder how well things will go.

This is one of my favourite Modglin's books so far. In The Reunion, she not only delivers on her signature wists, fast paced narratives and ironclad plotting, she gives us (basically) Isolated Setting. She gives us Close Circle. She gives us mean girls you want to destroy. And she give us an immersive reading through a scavenger hunt (posted on her official website - go join if you read this review in January 2022.).

I thouroughly enjoyed The Reunion - I experienced it as an immersive reading through reading with my eyeballs (which I bought) and listening to Dreamscape Media superb audiobook production at the same time. Meg Price's narration was everything! She brought Cait (and the story, and the other characters) to life, her pacing was fast and tense when it needed to; and so enthralling I couldn't put it down.

Disclaimer: In exchange for an honest review, I am thankful to Dreamscape Media, and NetGalley for providing me with a copy of The Reunion.

I have read multiple books by this author now. I was so excited for this and it did not disappoint.. I listened to this in less than a day and could not put it down. This was stunning.

This is my first experience with a book by Kiersten Modglin, and I'm definitely looking forward to trying out some more! I thought the characters were really well written and interesting, although Cait irritated me a lot by frequently putting herself in (or not leaving) bad situations and making bad decisions. Lots of people end up in bad situations and making bad decisions, but it seemed like Cait did it a little excessively. Stories that jump around in time don't always work for me, but I found that it increased the mystery and intrigue of the story. The progression of the relationships and story lines is really interesting, as the reader goes back to see how we got to the events of the present day. I listened to the audiobook and I was so enthralled I finished it in two sittings. I thought the narrator did a great job and I would definitely listen to more from her!

Reviewing
The Reunion
By Kiersten Modglin

The Reunion is a suspenseful page turner written in “now and then” format that will keep readers up far to late. Realistic dialogue, an intimate cast of deep characters, and a small town setting create the perfect storm for The Reunion. While the main characters immaturity is frustrating and the ending abrupt, overall readers will still enjoy Modglin’s latest who done it,

⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 3.5 stars for this intriguing suspense novel with a PG rating.

I really enjoyed this one a lot- the suspense was consistently present, and the alternating timelines worked really well. I am not sure I loved the ending, but I still found this a worthwhile listen!

3.5 rounded to 4 stars

As always, Kiersten is an inventive and clever. I really enjoyed the plot of this story. I did the audio version and found myself looking for more time to listen more. It's told in a duel storyline from the past and present. The only negative for me was the main character in the present. She was so immature and incapable of making a decisions that it drove me crazy. I really wanted to like her but I just couldn't. She might as well have still been in high school, so it gave the book a YA feel to me. However, it's a good storyline and a page turner, so I rounded up!
