Wow! My first Kiersten Modglin novel and I’m hooked! What a wild ride!!

This is the story of Cait DuBois, who has returned home for her high school
reunion. But, home does not have good memories and being back just brings it all back to the surface. Best friends, boyfriends, who is dating who, and an unexplained death that has haunted Cait since Prom Night.
The twists of who is friends, enemy’s, dating, wants to be dating is so crazy I couldn’t put it down. More than once I said, “Wait, what??!!” and backed up the audio because I needed to make sure heard it correctly.
Drama filled roller coaster ride with an ending I never saw coming! I am downloading another of her novels right now- so fun!
The narrator, Meg Price, did an amazing job also!
Thank you to the author, NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the advanced audio copy in exchange for my honest review.

This is only my third novel by author, Kiersten Modglin; she became my fav author in June 2021 when I read [book: Just Married].
“The Reunion” is indeed a story about the upcoming school reunion but it is a story about other reunions as well!

Our protagonist Cait Du Bois is a bestselling author but isn’t looking forward to her Tenth High School Class Reunion which is being held at the Hotel Lillith. In fact, she vowed she would never return to the place where something terrible happened. We get little clues as to what happened at the hotel ten years ago!

Story is told Present Time -Now and also Flash Backs of Then – when Cait was in high school.
Then: Cait, Sam, and Jamie were best friends but were outcasts ~ all were bullied by the”Populars” which included a group of not only mean girls but nasty boys!
Now : Cait is married to Grant who was one of “the Populars”.
Cait is working on another novel so when a family emergency occurs and her mother cannot baby sit their four year old twins; Grant decides it is best that he stay home with the twins and Cait go to the Reunion where she will have some quiet time to write.

This was a fast read. ~: Kiersten Modglin does not disappoint. .
Additionally, narrator Meg Price does an excellent job in performing all the characters!

Want to thank NetGalley and Dreamscape Media LLC ~ for this audio eGalley. This file has been made available to me before publication in an early form for an honest professional review.

This thriller is edgy, startling and fast-paced. The dual timeline is the same narrator, and shares her high school experience alongside present day. While most thrills are present, her younger storyline was interesting and I didn't mind the breaks in the current happenings. If you were ever made fun of growing up,you will pull for Cait as a teenager to keep pushing through to become the successful adult she doesn't know about yet. Something that stood out to me as #foodforthought was the contrast of the characters who are the same now as they were in HS and the ones that are not. I thought I had the twist figured out..NOPE 😂. I read this in a day so if you want to be glued to your seat, pick this up on 12/28

The Reunion was not my favorite by Kiersten Modglin but still another winner! I really liked the dual timeline plot. The story kept me engaged and in suspense. I liked all the characters and how they were portrayed from high school to adulthood. The ending was a bit of a surprise, and I love that!

The narrator, Meg Price, did a great job with pitch, tone, and elocution.

***** I received an ARC from NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for my honest review. *****

High school reunions – does anyone really enjoy them? For Cait DuBois, her high school reunion is her chance to show all the snobs and bullies how far she’s come. Now a mega successful author wants to shove fer fame and fortune into her classmates noses, but the reunion location has her hesitating. The Hotel Lilith holds memories of a night Cait would rather forget, but, she reasons, no one knows what happened that night. But when she arrives at the hotel, she begins getting strange phone calls, threatening texts and an unusual package. Someone knows the truth and they are intent on exposing it. Cait is left not knowing who to trust and trying to keep the fragile veneer she’s created in place

Genre: thriller
In one sentence: Author Cait DuBois finds herself back in the Hotel Lilith for her high school reunion - but the bad memories she made there won't stay buried.

Reunion plotlines make for some of my favorite thrillers - and this one did not disappoint. I loved digging into Cait's backstory - she was an unpopular girl in high school, her social climber BFF dated a popular boy, but in the end, Cait is the one who ended up married to him. The Hotel Lilith is a perfectly creepy setting for a thriller, and Modglin does a great job keeping up the creepiness as weird things start happening to Cait.

I loved the audio performance by Meg Price - she captured Cait's fear and uncertainty so well. I was about an hour from finishing the audiobook when I got home from a walk, and I just had to keep listening to get to the end. And it was a satisfying ending! Great quick read as always from Modglin!

Thank you to NetGalley and Kiersten Modglin for this audio-ARC in exchange for my honest feedback and review.

Cait has returned to the place where her past has haunted her for all these years. Cait has returned for her high school reunion. It is held at the same place her best friend died on prom night. Cait must face up to her past, her enemies, and her fear.

As far as I have come to expect from Kiersten Modglin this book hit it. It had me guessing who was really behind everything and I did not forsee the ending. I thought she was leading me in one direction and as she always does she threw me a curveball I did not see coming. Kiersten is the queen of thriller twists and maintains that title with this book.

Awesome book!!

This is like reading a better and improved version of Dawson's Creek.

Kiersten Modglin does an amazing job to get you hooked on the story from the first pages. The characters are nice and likeable and dreamlike, in a way. Some are sweet and kind and genuine, while others seem to be real villains.

The story is split between two timelines: the past, back in the high school when things did not end up as planned. Quite the contrary. And the present day, the reunion with her former high school friends.

Cait Du Bois, who is now a famous writer, and who was not part of the popular group back in the day, comes back to attend the reunion but while she's back in town strange things are starting to happen.

The story is well constructed and this book is a bit of a page turned. I don't want to divulge anymore as I'd like you to enjoy it as much as I did!!

Really good read!!!

Huge thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for allowing me to read this awesome book!

4.5/5 I can’t get enough of Kiersten’s psychological thrillers. Cait Du Bois is an author of thrillers & married with twins. She goes back to her hometown for a high school reunion and spends most of her down time while there writing her next novel. However, once she starts running into her old classmates, old memories & an unsolved murder rise to the surface. The story has dual timelines, past & present. There’s tons of twists and secrets and drama! The narrator did an awesome job. Highly recommend! Available 1/18

Thank you Netgalley for allowing me to listen to this! Another amazing thriller that I couldn't stop listening too! I love how it went back and forth from past to present! Also when Cait and Grant were first hanging out and she went off on him for how his group bullies her and others I was almost crying. Sad I know but I have been in her shoes when I was in highschool/middle school so I know exactly how she feels. Bullying is never ok. This book has a few twists and they make your jaw drop!!!
