Kiersten Modglin does it again and she’s only getting better! She’s a master of suspense and this book had no shortage of it. It may not be “action packed” but it’s solid and while a lot unfolded, I wasn’t bored at all. I enjoyed the two different time periods, which was essential to the story and I tried (unsuccessfully) to figure out the end but nothing prepared me for the way it ended. It was well rounded and I enjoyed this book more than previous ones (not that any were bad, just that I liked the pace and setting of this one). Definitely recommend. Thank you Netgalley for the arc! It was my last book of 2021 and I’m glad it was!

I have mixed feelings on this one. It was a very slow start, and definitely more of a drama than a thriller. The chapters alternate between the past when they MC Cait and her friends were teenagers in high school, and the present at their class reunion.

The past timeline felt a bit like a high school soap opera with all the over the top dramatic reactions. The present timeline did hold my interest more, Cait was still a bit overly dramatic but it had more excitement and action than the past timeline. There were some surprising reveals, but it wasn’t the twisty wild ride I’d been hoping for.

This was my first book by the narrator, Meg Price, and she did a great job but I did find she was whispery at times making it hard to hear without adjusting the volume.

I think I’m the oddball because I’ve only seen great reviews for this one, so I encourage you to read other reviews and give it a try for yourself! 3.5/5⭐️

The Reunion was my first Kiersten Modglin book and I honestly can't wait to read more from her. This book was truly shocking with twists I did not see coming.

The story follows Cait De Bouis as she returns to Hotel Lillith for her school reunion, where at age 18 something happened tied to her friend. The book jumps between Cait's teen years (starting with age 16) and her high school reunion. Int he past we learn about her friendship with Jamie which had its ups and downs due to Jamies relationship with her high school boyfriend (and Caits eventual husband) Grant and the Populars. Something happened at their prom and Cait decides to return home to face it.

In the present Cait reunites with her teenage best friend Sam and encounters those from her past. I don't want to say more about the mystery in the present as the less you know going in the more shocking it is. I now see why people love Modglin so much.

As I received the audiobook I also want to say how amazing Meg Price was at narrating.

I received a audiobook from NetGalley for my honest review.

5 Stars!

The Reunion is my second book by Kiersten Modglin, the first being The Mother-in-Law. The Reunion was a solid 5-star read for me. While I enjoyed The Mother-in-Law thoroughly, The Reunion was definitely a step up for me.

The Reunion is told in alternating periods, when the main characters were teenagers and in their late 20's. I enjoyed both timelines greatly, and my favorite aspects of the book were the mini cliffhangers at the end of each chapter. The cliffhangers kept me excited to get to the next chapter to see what would happen, yet equally as excited to be in the current chapter, clearing up the last cliffhanger.

The writing was easy to follow along with, and for the most part, the book was believable. For those considering the audio version, the narrator (Meg Price) was excellent.

After I finished The Reunion, I perused Ms. Modglin's website and saw in the FAQ a list of her favorite authors. As it turns out, our lists of favorite authors are nearly identical. No wonder I enjoy her writing so much!

I am looking forward to reading more of her books - and luckily, I have plenty to choose from.

This was such a good book. I loved the jump in timeline from present day to various ages in their teens to explain what happened. Listening to this on audio added to the spooky vibes. I definitely did not expect the ending!! Another amazing KMod read!

Huge thanks to NetGalley & Dreamscape Media for a copy in exchange for an honest review!

Another 5 star bender from Kiersten Modglin. The master of psychological suspense.
Another can't put it down until your finished book.

And in I didn’t see that coming news…. Wow talk about unexpected, left field, wild ride of a book.

A high school reunion is an anxiety filled event in the best of circumstances but how would you feel if you had been accused of the unthinkable in high school? Would you even go to your reunion? Cait is back for her high school reunion (held at the place where the worst night of her life happened) only now she’s a best selling author, wife & mother. She’s no longer the outcast but will people be able to accept that? Will she finally move passed prom night? Or will she figure out what actually happened?

I loved the premise of this book. The ending wasn’t what I was expecting at all.

Thank you to the publishers, author and NetGalley for the free copy of this audiobook.

This was good! Fun, quick read with some good twists. Little bit of a slow build at first, and I did guess the main twist but it was enjoyable over all. The narrator was great as well.

Wow did I love this book. This was my first book by Kiersten Modglin but it will not be my last ! This story follows Cait a successful author married to a loving husband raising twins in a seemingly idyllic life. Another her life may seem perfect there is a dark past that has been haunting her for years.Cait is attending her high school reunion taking place at the Lilith Hotel , the same hotel that her prom took place years ago where a dark mysterious incident has haunted Cait since. Cait decides to go to the hotel early to get some writing done while her husband stays home with the twins . Mysterious things begin happening causing Cait to face her past and solve a mystery that has haunted her for some time.

I listened to the audiobook on this one and loved the narration it was easy to follow and really drew me in. The story in this one is amazing it is a dual time line one timeline taking place in modern day while the other takes place during Cait’s senior year. This narration style was compelling. This story was full of twist and turns and I can say I never so the ending coming. I loved the idea of the characters returning to the same location that an incident took place years before it really kept you guessing what was going to happen next. Have I mentioned I loved the ending this may be my first book by this author but it will not be my last . I would like to thank netgalley and Dreamscape Media for a chance to read this book. I did list this review on good reads as well with link https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/4420333048

4.5/5 stars. Another great thriller/mystery by Kiersten Modglin. I’ve been gobbling up her audiobooks one by one this year. She’s definitely become a one-click buy author for me!
I loved all the twists and turns in this book. Every time I thought I knew what might have happened in the past, or what was happening in the present, I was wrong. I love the unpredictability of her books! Nothing was too implausible and everything was so well handled. Kudos!

Thanks to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for this complimentary audiobook.

I absolutely loved the relationships within this book. They were deep, meaningful, relatable, and simply enjoyable to read about. I think we can all relate to the dynamics described throughout the high school years and how everyone fell into a different category. Honestly, I enjoyed the characters and their backstory more than even the thriller aspect of this book!

4.25 stars

This is the kind of story I enjoy from this writer. It’s fun, easy to get through quickly, contains some interesting characters, has a reasonable amount of suspense, and concludes with (at least a bit of) a plot twist. I’m looking forward to experiencing more of her books!

*Sigh. I had high hopes for this one. This is my third book by this author and none of them have come close to the Arrangement.

I listened to the audiobook which was pretty good. The narrator did a good job, though at times her voice awkwardly lowers to almost a whisper.

Cait is excited to attend her high school reunion at the hotel Lillith. A beat selling author Cait cannot wait to strut her stuff. Not long after her arrival, strange things begin happening. Strange calls and texts, a mysterious package.
Someone is determined to destroy the life that Cait worked so hard to achieve. Someone is determined to reveal all of her long buried secrets. Cait is at risk of losing everything, including her life.

Thank you to Netgalley and Dreamscape Media for this Arc.

My thanks to Net Galley and the publisher for allowing me to review this audio book that plays over 2 alternate time lines.

Cait Dubois is a famous author on holiday when she is approached by "Ann" a "fan". However a red flag goes off to Cait when Ann tells her her husband left her with no money and she wanted a place to stay. Cait wonders how she paid for her coffee with having no money, texting her and showing up at her room when she did not give the information out? Does she have a stalker?

Alternating time line has to do with Caits teen years that connects the 2 time lines.

I LIKED the story but slow build up to climax and ending. Not a bad story though though.

This one kept me guessing from start to finish! I don't feel like there were a lot of red herrings per se but there was a lot of foreshadowing as to what was going to happen that makes you say "How did I not see that coming?!" when everything comes to light.
The plot switches between the past and the present, and both timelines were entertaining in their own way. I've got to say that my favourite character was Grant by a long shot which is something I didn't except when he was first introduced. As a main character, Cait was pretty average (as in she wasn't much different from your typical heroine) but it was still enjoyable to read from her perspective.
After this fantastic introduction to her writing I'm definitely going to pick up more of Modglin's books!

Cait returns to her hometown for her high school reunion, and the event is held at Hotel Lillith. The place her ex-best friend was found dead.

Cait is an author and hopes to get some writing done while she's at the hotel. However, almost immediately, weird things start to happen to Cait. Are her past secrets about to come to light, or is she losing her mind?

The suspense and twists along the way were delectable, however the ending was a let down. The main "villian" was barely brushed over in the story leading up until the end, so it didn't really make sense to me. It wanted something a little more juicy.

We all have secrets from our high school and childhood days. Secrets we would rather not come to light. But for this group of friends that secret involves how a friend died. This book takes an interesting approach of showing you the future and then snapshots of the past. Returning to where the death took place all of the involved are at the infamous hotel for a reunion. And someone knows what they did and wants them to pay. With their lives. The end gave me whiplash because I for sure did not see this coming and a majority of the reason for the five starts, in addition to the amazing writing. Highly recommend. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Another outstanding book by Kiersten Modglin. I love how this author pulls you into the story by making her characters so real. They are your next door neighbor, best friend or sister. As you are drawn into the drama you identify with the the heroine and want everything to be alright for her. Meanwhile the mystery unfolds and just when you think you've figured it out, zing!, it goes in a different direction. The story starts when Cait, an outcast in high school, returns 10 years later to a reunion to bury her ghost and move on from the past, The past, where her once best friend, Jamie, is murdered on prom night, and the suspicions are cast on Kate. As she returns to her reunion as an accomplished author, Kate meets with the "populars" from the past who still mistreat her. She is also reunited with her past good friend and boyfriend, Sam, who has a past of his own. Modglin builds the story by providing the backstory of the past interwoven with the present. Another must read by a talented author. This book was provided to me as an ARC. All opinions are my own.

AUDIOBOOK
Who doesn't like a thriller reunion story? Cait Du Bois has returned for her high school reunion. High school was not the happiest of times for her as she was bullied and snubbed by the "populars" for the duration of her high school years. Now, a best selling author with twins and a happy marriage she should be cool and confident. However with her husband at home with the twins and only her high school best friend to lean on, Cait is very anxious about seeing old peers. A chance meeting at the pool potentially introduces a stalker into the mix and Cait has a lot to deal with in one night!

The current story is interspersed with flashbacks about Cait's high school life and the reunion weekend. There are actually very few characters in this novel 3-4 but this works well in the story. Kiersten Modglin is known as the Queen of Twists and this book does not disappoint. My favorite component of Kiersten books is that the answer is usually hiding in plain day. My one disappointment is that Cait was a bit wishy washy and surely would have stood up to some of the people she encountered in present day, at least I wanted her too! If you like reunions stories, payback thrillers, and excellent audio voices, then this is a story for you! #DreamscapeMedia #TheReunion #kierstenModglin
