*I had the absolute privilege of getting an audio ARC from Dreamscape Media and Netgalley and I could not be more grateful. All thoughts and comments are my own.*

This was my first book with Marni and I have to say, I'm pretty happy about it.

Enter the world of the Dalton Brothers where a one-night stand ends up helping all of Kendall's dreams come true. Well, except for the part with her sister and some added drama, but we're going o ignore all that.

There was fairly less drama than I expected with The Lawyer, considering its backdrop and overall premise. I'm not really a reality TV, Hollywood-loving chick, so that aspect of the story was not really a draw for me. I was there for the narrators (hello... Tim Paige!!!) and the relationship/smexy times.

Honestly, I came for the book and stayed for the narrators. Kelsey Navarro & Tim Paige did a wonderful job. I always enjoy Tim's work and this was no exception.

There is always a huge draw for me to read (or preferably, listen to) fluffy, low-to-no-drama romances, and this was no exception. Bring on all the fluffy-filthy reads! (I may have sipped a bit too much wine when making dinner. I'm still salty but enthusiastic about saucy times. lol!)

Anywho, I had a few qualms with the overuse of certain colloquialisms for anatomical parts (not that I'm a prude but it was a bit much. And seriously I have never heard a gent refer to my nethers as the c-word to my face nor any other term quite so often, but that's just me... and maybe the cheese factor but nothing major. I would rate this about 3.5 to 3.75 but with the narration, I'll say 4.0 stars.

I enjoyed the Lawyer foe what it was, but I expected more. The narration was good, and I felt like they fit the character well.

I love Marni Mann's writing versatility. She can write a breathtaking and full of emotions, ugly cry book, and then one sexy, steamy, and fun like The Lawyer. The impeccable character development and world-building remain a constant in every one of her stories.

The Lawyer is the first book in The Dalton Brothers series. It focuses on Dominic, the oldest of the four brothers. They all work for the family law firm in L.A., with him focusing on entertainment. He meets Kendall at a party. They are instantly attracted and agree to have a hot and steamy one-night stand.

Kendall recently moved to Los Angeles to be her reality star sister's personal assistant. She is a handful with her crazy demands, but Kendall loves her and is willing to put up with Daisy's insane requests as she tries to figure out what to do with her life.

Imagine Kendall's surprise when she walks late into a meeting with her sister and finds herself right in front of Dominic, who happens to be her sister's lawyer. And he wants her. Dominic also knows Kendall would be perfect for a new reality TV show and offers her the job.

There is a lot of drama as Daisy is jealous of Kendall's new job. Meanwhile, Dominic refuses to be in a relationship with Kendall, but at the same time, he can't seem to get enough of her.

The Lawyer is one hot romance. Plus, it made me curious about the other Dalton Brothers. The narration by Kelsey Navarro and Tim Dalton enhanced the reading experience and the fully interpreted Dominic and Kendall.

This was my first Marni Mann book and I was not disappointed! I’m not entirely easy to keep engaged but this book had me interested and invested the entire time. Thank you to the author and NetGalley for the arc in exchange for my honest opinion. Excited to read the rest of this series!

I’m always hesitant to start new romance books because I’m so picky but this was really good!! So steamy and tense, can’t wait to read the next book in the series

I really enjoyed listening to the audio version of this book. Kelsey Navarro & Tim Paige were the narrators and they did an excellent job. This book is part of a series and the first one as they center around the brothers.

The Lawyer by Marni Mann
Narrated by Kelsey Navarro & Tim Paige
Publisher: Dreamscape Media
Genre: Romance
Published: January 11, 2022

The Lawyer by Marni Mann is the first book in the Dalton Brother series. The Lawyer mostly focuses on Dominick Dalton, but we also get a glimpse into who his brothers are and they will be featured in future books.

Dominick is an entertainment lawyer and he has rules about not getting involved with people in the entertainment business and shies away from the public eye....until he meets Kendall. Kendall is not your typical LA girl seeking fame & fortune. She recently moved from Boston to help her sister, who is a client of Dominick's and is seeking fame and all that comes with it.

This was a great read! The storyline was fascinating and kept me wondering what would happen next. I thought the characters were well developed, interesting, and engaging. The romance was super steamy and NSFW.

The narration by Kelsey Navarro & Tim Paige was incredible! I loved listening to them tell this story!

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

New to me author writes a well written and exceptional tale about Alpha Lawyer Dominick and wallflower Kendall. Their love story was intense, raw, and sexy as H. The chemistry between the two works on all levels as we follow their extremely erotic and scintillating journey. Erotic, emotional and provocative, Kelsey Navarro and Tim Paige delivered a fabulous performance. They brought the characters and story to life from the pages to my satisfied ears. Thank you for the great listen. #TheLawyer #NetGalley

Kendall Roy has come to LA to be the assistant to her rising star sister Daisy. After meeting entertainment lawyer Dominick Dalton at a party, sparks fly and the attraction is intense. But another chance meeting takes things even farther, and Kendall is caught up in the whirlwind life of a celebrity. Kendall’s sister takes this new lifestyle personally and causes a lot of unnecessary problems. The story is well written and you feel the drama and the angst between the sisters and the quick paced love between Kendall and Dominick. Good perseveres and many life lessons can be learned. The narrators of the audiobook did a great job with dual narration. Dominick’s part was read with the confidence of a high paid lawyer. We hear the evolution of Kendall from meek assistant to being able to stand proudly on her own without her sister’s berating. Well done!

Holy hot stuff. The Lawyer is on fire. Tim Paige was golden in this first in a new series from Marni Mann. Mann likes to keep things steamy and wow did she ever. Dominick is worth every consession. I’m anxious for more of The Dalton Brothers. This novel delivers a spicy romance complete with sibling rivary, a spoiled villain, and a sweet heroine who knows what she wants from the man of her dreams.

Did not like either character. The male lead only had sex on the brain, no character development. Not even sweet moments with his niece save this book.

🎧 Audiobook Review 🎧

Hold on a second...
I'm fanning myself to alleviate a little bit of this heat! 🥵🥵🔥🔥

Dominic is a real dirty talker and this book is full of sex and smut at every turn since the very beginning... Which works just fine by me! 😁😁

Here and there I love to read celebrities or rockstars romance, cause it looks like something you could really see happening on a gossip TV show 😂😂

This one goes around reality TV stars and private invasion... But it's really focused on Dominic and Kendall relationship from a one night stand/insta lust, to a full on public commitment.

It really entertained me while i was listening, even if there's basically no angst or drama between the main couple. It's basically body language and basic instincts between them.
All the fight here happens between Kendall and her sister Daisy.

So if you're looking for something easy and really hot to read/listen, this is your book!

🎧 About the Audiobook Narration 🎧

Narrated by Kelsey Navarro and Tim Paige, it was pretty good...
I really liked Kelsey narration and I just think that Mr Paige should work a bit on his female reactions... Especially in a title with so much sex.

It was an OK listen. The characters were likable, but the drama was a little too juvenile for me. The sexy scenes were hot but they got old pretty fast. The narrators did a good job. I'm not sure if I would continue on the series.

Kendall and Dominick's story sizzled right off the pages! This book had so much heat I thought the pages would combust!

Now while there was a lot of spice between these two, I loved how protective Dominick was over Kendall from the very beginning. She was new to Hollywood and all of the demons that go with being a star and he protected her from the very beginning. You just knew he was going to break the rules for her.

This was a great listen. The narrators brought the story to life and I couldn't stop listening!

This book was not for me. There was little character development. The body descriptions got old quick. Felt like it was stuck in a loop.

Loved, loved, loved the story but the performance was a bit irritating. It tended to distract from the book. I loved the solid characters and very much enjoyed the steaminess of it, but again, I struggled to appreciate it to the fullest with the narration. I am taking that into consider when rating, though. I enjoyed this one and can’t wait to read the next in the series!

I was grateful to receive the audiobook of The Lawyer by Marni Mann from NetGalley. This audiobook is loaded with hot sex, which is the best part of it. I just didn’t care for the actual story. I am not a fan of ridiculous, juvenile reality television and I don’t care to listen to an audiobook about it either. I have no idea why Dominick and Kendall fall in love except “she’s hot”. I won’t be listening or reading the rest of the series.

Holy Moly! The Lawyer was super sexy and incredibly addicting! Kendall meets and has what she thinks Is a one night stand with a man she meets at a bar. That man, Dominick, turns out to be her sisters entertainment attorney. Kendall has recently moved to LA to help her sister with her acting career. Kendall is soon discovered and thrust into a celebrity life. Dominick isn’t interested in being in a relationship, but he can’t get the sexy, down to earth Kendall out of his mind. Their paths continue to cross and they fall into a relationship. This book was so hot and the story line was very interesting. I definitely will be recommending it to all of my reading buddies AND I can’t wait to read the next book in the Dalton Brothers series.

Dominick and Kendall are absolutely explosive together! A one night stand that opened so many doors in the Hollywood entertainment industry. What it be a dream come true or an absolute nightmare? Marni Mann positively shines in this series opener. You’ll definitely want more of the powerful Dalton brothers.
