The author brings humour to a sometimes sad and sordid story. And it is this humour which helps the reader to feel engaged and connected with the protagonist. Touching on dark aspects of dysfunctional relationships (ranging from marital to parental), abuse and control, the author educates without preaching, without martyrdom and without judgement. Yes, this book is an entertaining expose of the sex industry but there is much more to it than that.
