I liked the story and I really liked the narration, a creepy story with feminism at its heart and although I have seen reviews criticising this aspect I felt it was integral to the plot and characters, heartily recommend this book

Neither narrator is reliable. Mind blowing, I regret reading it at 2 am!

I didn't realize it's part of a trilogy until I checked the goodreads page but oh wow, what a read! The feminist agenda were spot on and I love every single bit of it, the layers of Rebecca's story and her past gets unfolded also makes me think if anything that had happened is real. Can you trust your memory when everyone around you seems suspicious?

The thing I loved most is the title, A Narrow Door, which represents how women have to squeeze themselves into a world dominated by men. How we have to belittle ourselves just to fit in the world and standards made by men. Gosh, what a read!

This book really did not work for me.
First of all i've figured out/suspected the ending from the beginning. Second of all the book is far too long, dragged and repetitive. Third of all, the feminism side of the book becomes more of a centrepiece than a notable mention. As I stated before, if i wanted to read a book about feminism and social issues, I would have picked a historical fiction, a literature one, not a mystery book.

Thank you Netgalley and OrangeSky Audio for allowing me to read this book!

Although I don’t live in England, I keep an eye on book sites there. When I saw this title at Blackwell’s, I knew that I wanted to read it. I had not yet ordered the book, however, so was pleasantly surprised to see A Narrow Door on NetGalley as an e book. Thank you NetGalley and the publisher. All opinions below are my own.

In my opinion, this is one seriously creepy book. A woman with grudges and history becomes the head of a school that has recently gone co-ed. A body is found. That is just one of the dark events. It goes from there. Throughout, the book has a gothic flavor. It can be riveting.

The narration of this one is spot on. Each narrator has a clear voice and both do an excellent job of bringing their characters to life.

This book will appeal to those who like their stories to be the opposite of cozy.

Have you read this one? Will you? Let me know.

A Narrow Door by Joanne Harris is my first read by this author.
And to be honest I've never read anything like it.
The way Harris writes is seriously like none other.
This was a very clever book, very well written.
The cast here was surprising and interesting the whole way through.
An amazing suspense|thriller with a plot that twist and turned delightfully and unexpectedly
A literary masterpiece from Harris. And this will have you wanting more of her work.

OrangeSky Audio,
Thank You for this advance audio book!
I will post and tag to my platforms closer to pub day.
