Absolutely adorable board book! The illustrations are sweet and precious and diverse. What I really appreciate about this book is the format: it is a conversation - or a prayer. It starts with "Dear Jesus" and then goes on to give thanks for everyday little things. What a wonderful thing to introduce children to thanking God for the tiniest details of our lives that bring He gives us that bring us joy. Then it closes with a response from Jesus: "Dear Child". When we are still and silent before the Lord, we can hear Him speak to us so it's nice that children could be introduced to this at an early age.

I was provided a dARC from the publisher; this is my honest review.

Charming and short little book for little ones to remind them (and us!) to appreciate the wonderful little things in life and to thank God for them all!

Any good rhyming book is a win for me, and this one has nice rhymes. And cute illustrations with multicultural representation - a big bonus point. The one negative thing I would have to say is how can we give thanks for ants, big or small. They are nuisance from every angle I can think of. Ha! The winter aspects had me thinking how nice if authors would do one with a tropical theme.

All in all, a nice one to read to your children, grandchildren or sunday school attendees.

The illustrations were adorable, and I liked how the text rhymes, which makes the story easier to follow. Although, it felt like it needed something to end the story on, like it wasn’t fully completed. Other than that, a great little story about enjoying the little things in our every day life.

Prayer is one of the habits that is important for Christian parents to teach their children. The author acknowledges this by having a two-part approach: I say, The God says. However, i wonder why the author has not introduced God as simply God. Certainly I would have preferred the book didn't teach a concept that we would have to modify as the child matures.

The introduction of the book is charming- puddles, rocks, a cardboard box. (In my experience I would add an empty milo tin!). Little things.... each child can be encouraged to explore what they are thankful for. My own child would say Dumbo the Elephant with the big floppy ears!( a constant companion)

I would personally recommend this book to parents of preschoolers: it's short, simple, and attention grabbing!

Thanks for Little Things is a sweet short picture book to share a simple Bible verse with young children. As the title suggests, this helps teach children to be thankful for the small things in their lives. The story is written with rhyming words and has thanks for the little things as a refrain throughout the book. The book begins as children writing a letter to Jesus to thank him for everything. It then is written as a letter from Jesus to the children to say that Jesus loves the little things because they bring giant joys. The book concluded with a Bible verse.
This would be a perfect story to share with young children who are learning more about the Bible. It would also be an excellent resource for a Sunday school teacher or a children’s ministry leader.
